Workzone is a project management solution that offers document management, project collaboration, customizable reporting, resource and task management and time tracking. The software is cloud-based and offers automated emailed reports with up to date project status information.

Workzone provides project information at various levels of detail to accommodate different user roles on the project. Users can see cross-project summaries that give organization-wide visibility to projects and resources as well as automated and personalized project to-do lists to see at a glance what’s next on each project.

The solution links dependent tasks and uses a specific task’s end date to calculate the following task’s start date for projects with tasks that follow a set sequence. Workzone automatically notifies the next party downstream when the dependent task is completed.

Workzone also includes secure web-based file sharing and collaboration. Users can manage multiple versions of documents, with different user roles and file permissions.

    WorkZone helps us manage the projects in an organized and structured way. I can categorized the projects based on the clients which helps me managing it well.Helps with formatted custom reporting too along with managing the projects within one page dashboard.

    The software is, at least for my purposes, a one stop shop. I would say the the ability to customize your experience according to your size and needs is a definite pro.

    Cons

    Getting used to the software took a bit of time, but I think that can be expected with any new software.

    Great Product!

    From initial inquiry into their services to carryout of implementation, Workzone has met my teams needs completely.The product is extremely easy to use and and allows for a diverse range of functionality. Being able to store our data within Workzone was an added bonus and their security is second to none. The rep from the company was eager to answer any questions we had in the initial talks and very thorough in helping us get the request pushed through to start implementing workzone.

    Visibility into what projects are happening and where they are in the work flow. You can also share files and comment on files within the system.

    Cons

    While they do have a feature for commenting on files, I wish it was more robust and had a better user interface that you could use. I do wish they had a better mobile experience as I think people are always on their phones and would be nice to be able to update items from that device.

    This is a perfect software to allow the team to wet their feet in the use of a PM software

    Pros

    Workzone is very easy to use and the supporting staff is easily accessible
    I also like the clean interface which allows to quickly get around

    Cons

    Today having an app is important because many times work is done on the go. Workzone does not have an app
    Also lacking the ability to add customized fieds reduces the reach in covering specific data collection.

    Higher productivity and a greater ability to communicate where we stand at any given moment on a project

    Pros

    Ease-of-use and ability to have a good snapshot of projects and their current state. Automated notifications of due dates and past tasks is invaluable

    Cons

    Getting C-Class subcontractors to participate in it. There is little else that is a detractor from a great platform such as this

    It helps us manage a busy university marketing and communications office.

    Pros

    Our favorite thing about Workzone is the notes feature. We have a number of student designers with inconsistent schedules, so projects often have many hands touching them. The notes feature allows us to leave detailed information about each task, so that anyone can step in and pick up the ball to keep a project moving forward.

    Cons

    We would like it if we could see both the original/ideal schedule and the real schedule. The software does not change dates automatically to reflect when a task was actually completed and the subsequent change to dependent tasks.

    I like the WZ team is working to make improvements and looks for feedback from their users (this eval is a perfect example).

    The reporting need some improvements. Can't export large file to do analysis. Need more option to export all project including archived.

    We are much more organized and able to meet project deadlines. Everyone can go to a central place to see where we're at on every aspect of the work.

    Pros

    WZ has a ton of features and helps us keep track of everything going on. I can look at the workload for each person on my team to know the status of their projects and where new work should be assigned.

    Cons

    The learning curve is steep, but that's probably true with most PM software. Sounds weird, but there can sometimes be too much granularity so that particular information can get buried in a random spot. Would love a better in-app notification system.

    My remote team and I are a lot more organized.

    Pros

    I think the best thing I like about Workzone is the project and task tracker dashboard. I rely on it to manage my day to day tasks. I also like their customer success team. They really coach you to be successful on the tool which is something that many of the other tools lack.

    Cons

    Nothing major. I wish it was a little cheaper. I didn't like the interface before but they recently launched a new interface which I like a lot.

    WorkZone helps managing project timeline to be broken out into small tasks. Based upon tasks, it's easier to manage the project timeline. The project team is accountable to manage the tasks and they mark the tasks as completed once it is done.

    Workzone comes with integrated document management solution. Often we need to store files with the projects so our clients can access it. It helps integrating project files as needed. Reporting can be customized as needed based upon various available filters.

    Managing projects are so easy with WrokZone. All tasks can be shared with the team and their time can be managed within the WorkZone. Resource allocation is easier through this system and one can see the assigned work to them.

    More than a project management software

    WorkZone provides features not only for a project management system but for file management and version control as well. It is a combination of a number of tools required by an organization (Especially IT). We can easily share documents with others and manage the document version control as well. In terms of managing projects, it has almost all features available.

    Pros

    Well, it is a mix of a number of tools. Sometimes having more features are good but it can make the application complex for the users.

    Cons

    I would say, to work more on improving the interface and usability. Since you have a lot of functional apps as part of your tool, it would be great for users to have a great user interface.

    We have been on Workzone for several years, and my team really enjoys interacting with it. There is ability to look at the projects globally as well as in detail. Steps can be built in for different teams, and the reporting ability is wonderful. We have implemented several successful projects lately, using Workzone.

    Cons

    There should be a way to help you build your project and timelines. Like a project template that asks you the necessary questions: how many teams? what is the deadline? Do any tasks depend on other tasks? What needs to be shared? etc.

    Work Zone is perfect for managing all of our quick moving internal projects. It's easy for our group to manage and our users to submit and follow along as to where a project is during the process. The custom fields help tremendously so we can tailor to exactly what we need. The customer service is outstanding too, the reps are easy to get a hold of answer questions and resolve issues in a timely manner. We would like to see more improvements in the way of reporting, but because of your newsletter, we know that you're working on it.
