RetailEdge is an on-premise, retail point-of-sale  (POS) solution designed for small and midsize business. It offers mobile POS, multi-location support, website integration, credit card processing and gift card management functionalities within a suite. It runs on both Windows and Mac operating systems.

RetaiEdge offers integration with e-commerce solutions such as Shopify and Modern Retail, so users can synchronize data between RetailEdge and their e-commerce solutions, giving them an accurate view of inventory stock and sales data.

RetailEdge offers multi-location retail, which allows users to manage customer data, inventory and transactions across different stores in one system. The solution also offers gift card management, which allows users to issue and redeem gift cards to customers.

RetailEdge offers loyalty program management, which allows users to roll out rewards programs targeted at customer retention. The solution also features a loyalty reward filter, which allows users to create rules for gift card redemption such as maximum allowed discount percentage, promotion codes and types of payments.

Pros

I like the elasticity of the program, and the ease of getting around, as I manage sales, inventory, customers, PO's, receiving, etc.
I am fairly functional in the program, yet know only a fraction of its potential. Just a few years ago, we inculcated the use of PO's in receiving, which has been to our advantage. We have full integration with our financial program, which we did not know was a possibility until we came back into RE.
The main plus, I think, though, is the great (personable) tech support we have experienced in the past few years. The techs make their program work for the individual business. A few weeks ago I had a challenge with the integration of our online store, and I could hear those guys behind the tech trying to re-create the scenario, and come up with a fix. They usually are able to create an immediate work around, but then they send a ticket to the developers for a suggested change, and sometimes that is seen on a future update.

Cons

The least thing I like about the software is a result of the best thing I like...and that is the many windows that remain open in the background. Every so often I take the time to clear the windows, to get me a fresh start.
In working with PO's and inventory, the "Edit Purchase Order Item" and "Edit Inventory" windows look identical, and it is confusing which window is being worked in. Inadvertently the 'inventory count' could be change instead of entering the 'quantity to order.'

I have been quite please with RetailEdge. The software is quite functional and pretty straight forward to run. The customer and technical support has been top notch. A special shout out to Anthony in tech support. He was extremely helpful when working through the bugs getting the store open. Also helpful in customizing a special request on labels and receipts.

Cons

I would happily give RetailEdge a 5-star rating except for two concerns.

1. The MPop mobile register/receipt printer sold by RetailEdge was extremely buggy. They were great about the return, but in hindsight, I've not heard anything good about this product. Mine may have been a lemon, but it may be a product they should remove from their list of recommendations.

2. I wish they would develop the product for Apple OS.

I can track my stock, issue Gift Certificates...thinking about it, we have 2 locations and we don't utilize a way to be able to track gift certificate sales over both registers. It would be nice to be able to accept our other location's GCs without having to go in and adjust the sales later. I don't know if that can be done or not.

Pros

I like the interface between Retail Edge and my credit card system. I don't have to enter the amount twice, which prevents errors in charge amounts.

Cons

When an old record is deleted, sometimes you can't re-use the stock number or it warns of a duplicate entry. If I deleted it, it shouldn't be there at all!

The main reason I switch to this product was that I could add an additional register without costing me an arm and a leg.

Pros

It is packed full of features that are hard to find in other software for the price, like having multiple registers as well as multiple locations. The administration side of things is very easy to use, as well as the clerk side of things.

Cons

I wish I could customize the receipts more and change the layout. I wish it had an employee time clock feature.

Ease of use, receiving merchandise and inputting POs is easy and user friendly. We've been approached to change our software system many times over the years, and no one has convinced us that they'd be better or easier to use than Retail Edge.

There are just a couple of features I wish could be personalized to my liking (mostly in terms of reports)

Helps to keep an eye on margins and necessary reorders.

Pros

Ease of use and the ability to teach a new cashier quickly. Compound report excellent so we can quickly see our on hand, sales over a certain period, what's on order and what we need to order.

Cons

Some custom reports that I would like - which are probably there but I haven't been able to find them easily.

It has been very useful to the company in managing its various outlets within the city. And printing receipt and keeping inventory has been much easier since the purchase of RetailEdge.

Pros

Almost has every thing needed to manage any type of store. Especially being able to manage many outlets with the same software

Cons

RetailEdge is complex to use for a newbie. One will have to study the help files (which was fantastically prepared and exhaustive in detail) very well in order to grasp the understanding of its intricate use. But once that is done, it will be easy all the way.

Perfect for my small retail business. Having two stores it tracks our inventory and simplifies the ordering process for the two stores. It is a user friendly piece of software and if you don't understand anything, the RE Tech staff is there for you!

Cons

I wish it was available for a Mac platform as I am not a fan of windows. When windows updates is the time we have trouble and need tech support.

With this software glitches are rare. We only need to call customer service about once per year and they are always super friendly and are able to access the computer remotely to help fix things.

Cons

Layaways that have been finalized have too many transactions listed in the sales manager. Once completed it should be one receipt showing all payments.

Fairly bulletproof Point of Sale (POS) application.

Pros

Within the framework provided the software has a fair amount of flexibility. Adding common utilities can allow you to run your business from anywhere using the RetailEdge functionality. The price is also a strong "Pro." Lots of great tools for a reasonable price

Cons

You must move within the framework provided. If you want to do something not supported it can be a difficult road.

We are now more organized and ordering new product is becoming a breeze as we get the system up to par with what we need.

Pros

The ease of use when it comes to entering data is great. Looking items up is a breeze when using the pos sytem.

Cons

Not being able to adjust the spacing on a label is a pain especially when the label is cut off. There are certain combinations of discounts that are still not available that seem simple enough to implement.
