Stripe handles all critical functions, such as subscriptions, storing cards, and direct payouts to user bank accounts. Stripe is suitable for businesses of all sizes and offers solutions for mobile and Web payments that are specially built for developers.

Other key features include full-stack payments, PCI compliance, invoice paying, instant payment acceptance, shared customers and collection of transaction fees. Stripe does not require any card storage fees, validation fees, setup fees, monthly fees, or refund fees.

Stripe provides several support options such as online support, a customer knowledge base and forums. Have or want a subscription business? Stripe is the gold standard.

Checking out Stripe is a must for anybody running a subscription business. It'll save you a lot of headaches.

Pros

Stripe is getting a lot of buzz for a reason. They've made it incredibly easy to build a subscription business. And who doesn't want a subscription business these days? I find the platform very intuitive, and you can literally be billing customers within an hour. For developers, the API is truly best-in-class.

Cons

As it's newer on the scene than say PayPal, there are some tools that don't integrate with it yet (although, see comment on API in pros). I wish it was a little easier to send individual invoices from. I find the process off billing a customer once to be a little lackluster compared to setting up a subscription.

Helpful Tool to Invoice Clients

I would recommend this tool.

Pros

Helpful standard product to begin invoicing your clients. Some of the tool can be a bit complicated in terms of usages (my advice is to conduct more user testings). It's helpful though for any start-up or organization looking to ensure payment is made on-time, effectively.

Cons

Some of the inside 'programming' of the tool is not easy to grasp or understand. I'm not 100% beginners will know what they're doing but ultimately I would recommend it.

Stripe has been from time to time the only gateway available for certain applications, which has made it invaluable. It was easy to get my account set up and I have never had an issue with the service. Price wise their processing fees are on par with other gateways I have used.

Likes Least

It does take a little longer for payments to clear than it does through other gateways but this has not been much of a bother.

Recommendations

Get an account if there is an API for your application. The more options your customers have the better I think.

The intuitive integration in ones own software and the great UI framework that provides a professional payment form for the users out-of-the-box. Also they're adding more and more payment methods and functionalities (recently SEPA payments - necessary for our business).

Cons

A nice addition would be that one can use the UI framework provided by stripe but use their own backend with it and process the payments with their own server.

I use it as an intermediate between the client and me when they want to pay using the credit card. It is a safe and cheap way so works perfectly for me.

Pros

It is so easy to use and provides you with a lot of different accessories that help you to control you revenues like different kinds of informs. Besides, it is safe to use and the fee they charge is low enough.

Cons

It takes time to do the informs and these are not always well done, they are hard to read in the excel form they provide you.

Pros

Really good documentation, the connected account and ability to manage collected fees and payouts all on one platform makes it much easier than something like ADYEN.

Cons

Credit card fees are a little high and the conversion fees are a little much but its very hard to have everything perfect in the payment industry.

The ability to run multiple accounts concurrently has made this my go to payment processor for multiple clients and my own business. I have been running it for 3 years without issue!

I found that I had to dig a bit to get the integrations I wanted, it was necessary to have some coding knowledge or pay for useful plugins from third party vendors to get the results I required

transaction fee rebate for non-profit organization; excellent online reports, downloadable to Excel; excellent customer service with fast turnaround response

Pros

It has all the functionality of more expensive softwares: great reports, capability of different giving categories, ease of use, donor's full information. Furthermore, a transaction fee rebate is available for non-profit organizations. We applied for the rebate before starting to use the software; we received the confirmation within 11 days.

Cons

They do not have a phone line for customer support. We email their support team and they reply within 4 business hours.

Accepting payments - getting paid

Pros

This software is easy to use and it's great that payments are sent to connected bank account automatically. No need to log in, transfer, and think about where the funds are. It accepts major credit cards, so convenient for business needs!

Cons

I haven't come across any negatives, yet. Stripe has satisfied what I've needed it for and helped my business run.

Great payment processing system with very competitive pricing/fees.

Pros

Pricing is competitive and better than most others I found - while they're not the cheapest, their feature set more than makes up for it, so they're the best value option for my needs.

Website integration with Woocommerce is simple and works great.

Support is amazing and respond quickly with helpful info if you ever need to contact them.

Cons

Mobile apps are limited/non-existent. There is an iOS app to display dashboard data, but no official app for Android and the third-party apps are mostly junk or make my eyes bleed or both.

I have not found any issues with the service at this time. I know I have heard some developers say it's not as easy to use as Paypal.

It is fairly intuitive to use and onboard new users. Basic functions are very easy to do without a steep learning curve. The process for responding to chargebacks is lovely.

Stripe has worked very well for my online store. It is integrated with my Squarespace site, and so far there have been no problems. It does a good job processing credit cards and quickly transferring funds into my bank account.

Cons

I don't like the fee that it takes and wish that it did not take as high of a percentage from each transaction.

There are no pros big enough that you can't get elsewhere. Their service is nothing special that you can't get with another provider.

Cons

1. The customers service if any at all, is just emails back and forth and trying to get someone to figure out you money is a pain.
2. After giving them all the information and bank account sign in they still held me to a 7 day payout plan before which they say on the first transaction would be 7 days. Now the email from.the impersonal customer care agent tells me I have to go thru some months of this to even be considered for this option, which is a completely​ unacceptable.

How did we ever do payment processing before? I switched my legacy business from a traditional credit card processing company to Stripe and was able to save them 1.3% per transaction. When you do up to in credit card transactions per month, that's a big deal! The platform is so intuitive, and anyone can figure it out pretty quickly. Customer support is spectacular, and I liked how they learned more about our company to verify the number of transactions, etc. If you want the most secure and affordable card processing platform, then go ahead and download Stripe today.

I really like Stripe for credit card processing. It works seamlessly with CounSol so I only have to access the Stripe console to reconcile the transfers with my bank statement.
