Stripe is a cloud-based solution that offers a varied set of unified APIs and tools that enable businesses to manage and accept payments online.

Stripe handles key payment functions, such as subscriptions, storing cards and direct payouts to user bank accounts. It also offers solutions for mobile and web payments that are specially built for developers. Stripe enables businesses to accept international debit cards, credit cards and currencies.

Other key features include full-stack payments, PCI compliance, invoice paying, instant payment acceptance, shared customers and the collection of transaction fees. Stripe does not require any card storage fees, validation fees, setup fees, monthly fees or refund fees.

Stripe provides support options such as online support, a customer knowledge base and forums. Additionally, Stripe can be integrated with applications such as Shopify, FreshBooks, Zoho Invoice, Zoho Subscriptions, TalentLMS, Squarespace, Sellsy, Intercom, Slack, Zapier and Abacus.

    The default choice in payment processing

    Highly reliable payment processing while keeping things simple (like pricing, workflows, etc). If you're a small to medium sized company, Stripe should be the default choice for payment processing and have a very good reason if not.

    Cons

    Some of the newer features/add-ons don't seem to be of the same quality as the core payment processing platform (for example, Radar). Nonetheless these are optional and don't detract from the core payment processing.

    It works perfectly once integrated with a front-end program for card payment. Integration with our system was smooth. Definitely cheaper than alternatives

    Accept payment anywhere and everywhere!

    Pros

    During tax season I operate a small scale tax-prepping service from home, and Stripe has been the perfect solution to manage these transactions. The fees are very low and super fair, and by dealing with clients through Stripe instead of companies like Paypal, I know that my hard earned money is safe. From the technical aspects of swiping a credit card or other form of payment and manually entering card information, Stripe's been very secure and transactions have been completed instantly.

    I would have to say stripe is the best way to collect payment and send out invoices to your customers.

    I really don’t have anything bad to say about this product. I’ve had all positive experiences. Are use it on several platforms to collect payment from my customer.

    Great system for automating recurring credit card payments

    I use Stripe linked to Chargebee for recurring billings. Works like a charm.

    Pros

    Stripe is effective and fast in executing card payments for our recurring billings.

    Cons

    When I had a query to remove an admin from our account, the support response was pretty bureaucratic.

    I love the fact that Stripe is integrated into my Therapy Private Practice Software, so clients can store their cards and we can click a button to charge. It has neat reports such as analyzing sales over the past week and notifications informing you of when you have received payment.

    Cons

    If this software was not integrated into my private practice software, I likely would not use it. I do not like typing in people's card info, it feels unsafe. I wish that there was also not a two day wait for depositing each time there is a transaction. Other than that, its simple if you don't want to have to carry equipment or card readers...etc. Also, although my practice is coded through stripe, I am unable to accept flexible spending cards and have to sue another software for clients paying via FSA.

    Low transaction fee for international transaction. Their fees is much lower than paypal. Fees are important when it comes to credit card charging services. Every 0.01% can make a big difference in your monthly income.

    Cons

    It does require you to have the account set up and you may need some help to get it running, but once it is done you will never have to make any modifications.

    I love that Stripe is integrated with my business management software, Simple Practice. My clients simply log into their account and are to pay for a clinical session from within the management software! So easy and convenient for clients!

    Pros

    As a business owner getting paid fast and without a hassle is essential to a good workflow! I have a lot to think about and coordinate on a daily basis, so taking the stress out of figuring out how a client is going to pay me .. is amazing! I like Stripe's easy to understand software platform. I understand who paid me and when they paid me. Reconciling disputes is simple, thanks to Stripe. I like that the platform allows you to stay organized and on top of your finances!

    The setup and implementation process is very easy to understand for both API developers and everyday users and clients. The testing environment is also incredibly helpful.

    Stripe is on the rise for sure they are now my go to option whenever I build a clients website or even on my own e-commerce store. You get your money sent directly to your account without having to initiate the transaction or have it sitting only to draw a different transaction fee just to withdraw the money. Its now available across all the major e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Bigcommerce and Woocommerce for Wordpress my personal favorite is the Shopify integration.

    I would like it if they had a local option like something where you could swipe the card like if you set up a pop up shop or something.

    I'm able to provvide a storefint online and provide awesome products for my customers and provide a way for them to pay for them.

    Pros

    What I like the most about Stripe is it allows me to offer products to my customers and take money from many different card types.

    Cons

    What I like the least about this software is that it's challenging to implement, and while they have some good aids some of the things you have to do to implement Stripe into your site can be rather challenging and may require outside assistance.

    Stripe helped us start up accepting payments and we still use it today with new plans to use anything else. Whether you charge tens or tens of thousands of dollars it helped us without having to deal with the bureaucracy and fees of big banks. The simplicity alone is worth choosing stripe.

    Pros

    Billing for a small business can be an expensive arrangement. Merchant accounts aren't feasible for a lot of businesses. Stripe almost singlehandedly allowed us to start out charging customers and clients. It makes it very easy to charge credit cards for products and services. Invoicing is easy and slightly less prone to delays and problems than other providers. Would highly recommend. Transparent fees and pricing is always appreciated.

    Cons

    It is fairly new when compared with other providers, so some features are missing. Making invoices customizable is a little tough and should be easier. Automatic taxes would also be a great feature. Other than that it does what you need it to.

    They are playing around with the idea of accepting cryptocurrencies, which I think would be great, but as of now, there's no option for that.

    I love the product documentation Stripe has built. It makes it super easy for our developers and business team to use Stripe to its fullest.

    Cons

    The cost is clearly the worst part about Stripe. It's expensive. But the service they provide is essential.

    I would say that it would be in Stripe's best interest to build something similar to Recurly to ensure that Stripe users are actually getting their customers to pay up!
