Been using STRIPE for 6 months and I'm a happy customer

Overall we are very happy with the features that is provided by Stripe and we will be continuing to use Stripe as a payment gateway for our application.

Pros

The integration of Stripe to my application as a payment gateway was very easy. I was able to get the integration and testing done within 1 day. The documentation that is provided for integration is good.

Cons

The documentation can be improved a little bit. Things like which card information to use for testing purposes. Some of the test card number that was provided in the documentation did not work.

A More Convenient Way to Collect Payment Information

Pros

While I am fairly new to using Stripe I must say I am very impressed. The possibilities seem endless using Stripe's library to collect a customer's payment information in the safest way possible. For developers like myself who are not database or security savvy this is a god send and could potentially save you hundreds of hours of research and coding.

Cons

I will say however that learning how to implement Stripe's code into your website has been a bit of a pain. The documentation seems to be all there, however there's many steps to sort through, and it seems as through many libraries seem to be focused on using backend languages, like PHP. As a front-end developer, I would love to see some more simpler Stripe embeds focused on Javascript or other more front-end friendly libraries if that could be at all possible.

Stripe to it!

The payment system we used before was very clunky and was known for messing up payments or putting them in places that didn't make sense. This system is streamlined and seamless and something that we could teach anyone to use. I also like that it works in a corporate setting the same way it would work in a retail setting. You know it's a good software when it can be used anywhere for anything.

Pros

My company hosts A LOT of events. Some of those events are informative seminars, that cost money to attend. Stripe has significantly helped the payment process. Basically, it is an intuitive software that organizes the money received from our clients. The form structure allows you to detail what the potential payments received will be for, and that information gets written back to our CRM database and email marketing system. It's honestly really neat!

Cons

I genuinely have never had an issue with Stripe. It always does what it needs to do and it is really easy to set up. I foresee our company using the software for quite a bit of time.

Quick and easy to use

Pros

Switched from another provider to Stripe and have not looked back since. Super fast processing times for payment and less hidden fees. I have one main point of contact and they know us inside out so its nice speaking to the same person anytime I have a question or an issue arises. Although I have not ran into any issues as of yet I know exactly who will take care of me. Set up was super easy as well

Cons

no cons yet. It did take some time to get some of the integrations to work but it works flawlessly. Can be pricey as well depending how you look at it

Go-to payment processing service

Pros

Stripe is basically the new paypal. It makes processing payments easy with smart processing of recurring subscriptions, flexible coupons systems. This seriously removes headache for both us and our clients.

Cons

Account permissions and an issue. You can either have all of them, or just the basics, creating problems when you sometimes have to ask account owner for the smallest tune ups in the system.

Hands Down MY FAVORITE

Stripe has redesigned the whole market of e-commerce and payment integration. We used to be tied to awful, expensive and complicated solutions, and Stripe has literally changed the game.

Pros

I LIKE EVERYTHING about it. I tell my client's it's easier AND more powerful than any other platform out there. We've been using Stripe since it came out on the market and you couldn't pry it from my cold dead hands.

Cons

Literally nothing, they're constantly coming out with new improvements and it's great!

My favorite payment gateway!

Pros

I love how easy it is to receive payments. Most comparative services charge pretty much the same transactions fees, so it comes down to preference when choosing payment gateways like Stripe, Paypal, so on. It's almost like choosing a bank you like. Although I also use Paypal, I prefer Stripe for one big reason. Paypal sometimes hold the payment for a period of time when their system suspects something unusual, or you haven't been using their system for a while. This is a major issue since your money gets locked up for nearly a month. This never happened with Stripe, and that is why I feel more comfortable using Stripe over Paypal.

Cons

Integrating Stripe into your website is not as straight forward as Paypal, so if you're not a technical person it could be tricky to use some of their services. But they have lots of documentations that helps you so it's not a huge issue. It just feels intimidating at first.

Modern payment proceesing

Pros

As a developer Stripe is the easiest solution for any payment functionality. Great support across languages and the developer docs and APIs are really easy to use.

Cons

I don't think there is anything I don't like about Stripe. The fees are competitive and the integrations are all very good.

Love that its made for non technical people

Pros

We use this product at work everyday! While most of our development team using this product I do love that it was made so that non technical users can use this product. Any "mistake" made can always be undone fairly easily. Great product

Cons

I personally don't have any negative things to say about this product, it does all the things our company needs it to.

Simple, easy to integrate Online Payments solution

Pros

Great, well-documented API which is very easy to integrate with. Expanding range of global payment methods

Cons

It would be great to leverage Stripe for making Payments Out as well as receiving Payments In, perhaps in connection with UK Open Banking/PSD2

The best payment gateway for the average developer

Stripe has been an incredible addition to our company's offering building out websites for folks.

Pros

The incredible ease of installing payment options on our site, with years of frustration working with previous payment gateways, made me love their simplicity more than anything else. In addition, the UI for when you're logged into the app is so beautiful and easy to understand that you feel happy to log in.

Cons

On occasion keeping up with changes/updates has been cumbersome, but that mostly has to do with my own workflows. They constantly update and keep things moving forward.

Good for starters but not for international startups

Pros

I like how stripe is compatible and easy to use. You can easily set it up. The thing I like most about stripe is its slick design dashboard. Stripe has the best design I've ever seen!

Cons

They don't support some countries. You can buy it but you can open account as seller from some countries. These are not small countries, they have more than 50million population each.

Useful for online transactions

Overall a positive experience, but there are definitely cheaper options out there.

Pros

Stripe is very easy for customers to go on and make online payments. As a vendor, I instantly get notified whenever there is a purchase, which I like.

Cons

I think the transaction fee of 2.9% could stand to be a little lower!

Powerful & Simple Payment Processor

Pros

Our experience with Stripe has been very satisfactory, love their awesome user interface, Strip is very simple and straightforward payment processor. We use a lot of WordPress and WooCommerce to run web stores, integrates well and its super easy to set up. Analytics are basic, but its good enough to understand whats going on.

Cons

Nothing much, but customer chargebacks are troublesome.

Stripe is great

It's a great way to pay and the business I work with that uses it seems to like them too. They not only pay us direct through there, but they also have a "tip" system set up through Stripe.

Pros

I was first introduced to Stripe through one of my clients. It was easy to set up an account and connect it to my bank. I like that they don't take a big cut from my pay.

Cons

I don't know much about it. I don't use it to buy things, just have the money I get paid through them sent to my personal bank account.

Good product

It's good. It works. I feel like it's a bit of a clunky system compared to others. As I said I have to use it on some platforms but would prefer that customers use paypal, venmo, or other products to book appointments and make purchases. Especially for the long wait deposit time.

Pros

It automatically integrates into my squarespace store, and was easy to set up on tablets and phones.

Cons

But there are better products with lower fees out there. If I have to use Stripe I will, but I prefer other pay platforms with less % fee. Also Stripe does not allow for instant deposit. In this day and age that's just lazy developers.
