Axon Virtual PBX Software


NCH Software offers a software-based business phone system called Axon Virtual PBX. While Axon is an IP PBX, businesses don’t need specialized telephony server hardware to run the system. Instead, it can be installed on standard Windows PCs (currently, Axon cannot be installed on Mac or Linux devices).

While NCH Software does not provide SIP trunking, businesses that need to connect calls to the traditional phone network (PSTN) can use Axon with a third party SIP trunk.

Axon is available according to two licensing models. The Business Edition license supports up to 20 users and three external lines, while the Enterprise Edition supports an unlimited number of users and lines. Both licenses only support a single location.

Standard PBX features include voicemail boxes for each extension and call transferring. Add-on modules are also available, including a predictive dialer for call centers, call recording and an auto attendant with interactive voice response (IVR). Axon can support analog phone lines via a number of hardware setups.
