Select to learn more

Integrated Team Communication Hub

Teams brings together messaging, calls, and document collaboration, allowing users to communicate with colleagues and clients in one platform. Persistent channels, cross-platform access, and integration with Microsoft 365 keep information centralized and help teams stay aligned on projects and tasks.

Virtual Meeting Organization Tools

Microsoft Teams streamlines virtual meetings with easy scheduling, calendar integration, and instant access from multiple devices. Users can host webinars, record sessions, and invite internal or external participants, making it simple to coordinate across locations and keep all meeting details organized in one place.

Centralized Chat And Channels

Teams offers structured chat and channels for quick messaging, file sharing, and collaboration. Group chats, threaded conversations, and integrated apps help users keep discussions organized, switch between topics, and find past messages easily, supporting both informal and project-based communication.

Complex Account And Permissions Setup

Managing accounts, permissions, and guest access in Teams can be cumbersome. Users face frequent logouts, confusing authentication, and difficulty switching between organizations or tenants. Admin controls, app restrictions, and permission settings often require extra steps and can frustrate less tech-savvy users.

Video Call Reliability Issues

Users report frequent audio and video glitches, connection drops, and device compatibility problems during video meetings. High resource usage, microphone access issues, and inconsistent controls can disrupt calls, especially in large groups or when switching devices, impacting meeting quality.

Screen Sharing Usability Challenges

Screen sharing in Teams can be confusing, with limited options to share specific sections or multiple screens. Users experience navigation issues, lag, glitches, and difficulty managing permissions. The interface sometimes obscures content, and presenters may miss chat messages or audience reactions.

### Great for team communication, but multi-tenant switching needs work

- Overall rating: 4/5

I use it regularly for my daily standup with my team, where we discuss our daily tasks and share information. I also have one-on-one chats with other people across the company that I need to contact to resolve specific work-related matters. It's very useful for my day-to-day tasks, as well as for sharing my screen live when needed

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The main benefit is communication, both for team channels and one-on-one chats. It's a very useful app for maintaining workplace communication, you can schedule meetings and share files, which are stored directly on the platform, keeping information always accessible

#### Cons

Personally, I have two profile tenants, and this can sometimes be a bit annoying. Since I have conversations in both, I periodically have to switch from one profile to the other, which is a hassle. Additionally, on several occasions I need to contact someone for the first time, and I have to check which of the two tenants I appear as available on in order to message them, which sometimes means I can't reach that person efficiently

I honestly don't have much I do not like. I think teams is the best option for the needs of myself and my team.

#### Reasons for switching to Microsoft Teams

We needed a cheaper option with better features.

### Powerful Collaboration Tool That Keeps Teams Connected

Overall, Microsoft Teams is a robust and highly effective collaboration platform that significantly improves communication, productivity, and teamwork. I recommend it to organizations of any size looking for an all-in-one communication and collaboration solution.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Microsoft Teams has become an essential part of our daily workflow. It combines chat, video meetings, file sharing, and collaboration tools into one platform, making it easy to stay connected whether your team is in the office or working remotely. One of the features I appreciate most is how seamlessly Teams integrates with Microsoft 365 applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Scheduling meetings, sharing documents, and collaborating in real time is incredibly efficient. The chat feature is intuitive, and organizing conversations by channels helps keep projects and communications well structured. The video conferencing functionality is reliable and includes useful features such as screen sharing, meeting recordings, live captions, and background effects. Teams also makes it easy to communicate with internal employees and external partners.

#### Cons

Integrating data from File Explorer to MS Teams based files was a significant undertaking and very labor instensive to recreate folders that matched the same format from File Explorer. Additionally, another drawback is that Teams can feel resource-intensive, especially when multiple applications are open. Search functionality can also be inconsistent when trying to locate older conversations or files.

#### Reasons for switching to Microsoft Teams

To streamline all of our business communications and file sharing/storing into one platform to integrate with all of our MS Office operations.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

When it comes to business communication its just about the Golden standard. It provides the absolute best communication between Teams in the industry.

#### Cons

The thing thats a little frustrating about teams is mainly the program itself. Sometimes the program eats up your computers memory and will freeze a lot.

#### Reasons for choosing Microsoft Teams

Slack just didn't really have great voice/video chatting.

#### Pros

My favorite part about using Microsoft Teams is that I can quickly and easily communicate with people without the formality of an email. I like the different functions of a channel vs a chat as well.

#### Cons

The hardest part of using Microsoft Teams is setting good personal boundaries so that if other people have different working hours than I do, I don't get pulled into responding around the clock.

#### Reasons for switching to Microsoft Teams

The company I work for made the switch. I was not involved in the decision.

Pretty good overall. It's nice and versatile for what I needed it for. While the problems I experienced while using it were exasperating, it was through no fault of the program itself.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Being able to communicate with other departments at work from inside the cleanroom I was stationed in.

#### Cons

Not being able to see that the recipient has seen the message. Some of the other departments weren't so dependable, this would remove their deniability.

#### Reasons for switching to Microsoft Teams

This was the closest product I could find. e used physical walkie talkie devices that had some Android tech. We switched due to lazy recipients regularly "misplacing" their device.

### Our Go-To Platform for Team Collaboration

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: Andrea L.
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Translation and Localization
- Company size: 2-10 employees
- Product usage: Used daily for more than 2 years

Our overall experience with Microsoft Teams has been excellent. It is our primary platform for meetings and day-to-day communication, and it has become an essential part of how our team collaborates. The combination of chat, video conferencing, file sharing, and document collaboration in a single application has helped improve productivity and reduce the need to switch between multiple tools. The seamless integration with Microsoft 365 is one of its greatest strengths, making it easy to schedule meetings, collaborate on documents in real time, and keep information centralized. The platform is reliable, easy to use, and supports both internal collaboration and communication with external partners. Although the interface can become crowded as teams and channels grow and the application can occasionally be resource-intensive, these are minor drawbacks compared to its overall functionality. Microsoft Teams has consistently met our needs and remains a key tool for communication and collaboration across our organization.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What we liked most about Microsoft Teams is that it serves as a central hub for our daily communication and collaboration. It is our primary meeting platform, and it makes it easy to chat, hold video meetings, share files, and collaborate on documents without switching between multiple applications. The integration with Microsoft 365 is one of its biggest strengths, allowing seamless collaboration through Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office apps. Teams is intuitive to use, offers good customization options for channels and notifications, and supports both small team discussions and large meetings effectively. Overall, it provides excellent value for money by combining communication, collaboration, and productivity tools in a single platform.

#### Cons

While Microsoft Teams is a powerful collaboration platform, it can occasionally feel resource-intensive, especially during long meetings or when multiple applications are running simultaneously. The interface can also become cluttered as the number of teams, channels, and chats grows, making navigation less straightforward. Additionally, some settings and administrative options are spread across different menus, which can make configuration more complex than expected. Despite these minor drawbacks, the platform remains reliable for our day-to-day collaboration.

### The Standard for Enterprise Communication and File Co-authoring

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: Sourav M.
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Research
- Company size: 51-200 employees
- Product usage: Used daily for more than 2 years
- Reviewed: August 2026
- Review source details: This reviewer was invited by us to submit an honest review and offered a nominal incentive as a thank you.

Overall, Microsoft Teams serves as a dependable, central hub for daily team communication, cross-functional collaboration, and virtual meetings. It effectively consolidates chat, video conferencing, calendar scheduling, and document sharing into a single workspace. While the interface and resource consumption can occasionally feel heavy during demanding workloads, the productivity gains from real-time co-authoring and Microsoft 365 integration make it an indispensable tool for team coordination and project execution.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The deepest strength of Microsoft Teams is its seamless ecosystem integration with Microsoft 365. Being able to co-author Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents directly inside a channel or chat window streamlines workflow without constantly switching tabs. Meeting features—such as background noise suppression, live captions, breakout rooms, and smooth screen sharing—are reliable for both daily standups and large organizational calls. Additionally, organizing discussions into specific channels with persistent chat and integrated SharePoint storage keeps project documentation structured and accessible across distributed teams.

#### Cons

The desktop application can be noticeably resource-heavy, occasionally consuming substantial RAM and CPU during active screen-sharing or video calls on multitasking setups. Navigating between multiple organization accounts or guest tenants can also feel clunky and slow. Furthermore, the search functionality can sometimes struggle to pinpoint specific messages or older shared files within crowded channels, requiring manual filtering to locate past conversations.
