Eaglesoft Software


 

Patterson Dental’s Eaglesoft software is a Meaningful Use and ONC-ATCB certified on-premise dental office practice management system. Well suited for practices of all sizes, it includes a clinical chart, patient scheduling and billing/accounting applications, as well as periodontal templates.

Eaglesoft’s patient scheduling application gives users the ability to block off different segments of time, from five to 60 minutes, depending on the necessary length of the appointment. Double booked appointments are displayed side-by-side so they can be identified before a problem arises.

The treatment planning module lets users present treatment plans to patients and collect consent forms with a digital signature feature. It also provides financial information so patients can make an informed decision based on insurance coverage estimates.

This software also includes a document manager, SmartDoc, which enables users to store and manage documents that have been imported from paper charting systems.

worst ever. we just switch to eagle soft. we are having problems whenever window 10 upgrade. we cant not open xry. we had fix three time in two month ant it take couple wk to fix. now our main sever computer cant open eagle soft... and they do not know why. we pay for month service it not worth it.

Very customizable but sometimes even that isn't for the best. I am able to assign colors to each provider and employee but I cannot get the software to stop prompting us to "change to prescription paper" or "change to regular paper" when printing. Too many auto pop-up all over the software that are not able to be turned off.

Treatment planning is a nightmare. We're a big office and present major treatment needs. It is not uncommon for our treatment plans to include 20+ services and this software does not make that easy. Very tedious to enter and prioritize. The software will not auto correct posterior and anterior fillings based off the tooth #. Also, there is no reason I would not want to write clinical notes and treatment plan at the same time, it doesn't make since for those features to be in 2 different places within the software.
Also, adding patient family members has to be done very delicately, especially when they have Insurance.

Recommendations

Look elsewhere. I used Dentrix for 10 years before making the switch to eaglesoft and I've regretting every day of it.

Ease of use for chair and provider and scheduling. Text, smartphone and patient education recare.

Likes Least

This product provides users with filters for campaigns, embezzling security features and highlights and updates UCR codes. There is no downside.

Recommendations

Look at the encryption and money finder features these are very important.

The software itself is organized. Everything is very user friendly which makes navigating the software a plus. That being said, it is easy to train someone on this program as well. I was taught on Dentrix, and the switch over to Eaglesoft was simple because it is user friendly.

Not everything is included in the price. It is a little on the higher end, especially to do updates. In other software programs, they charge you a single fee and that includes things such as the card reader, the signing pad that lets your patients signature go right into the program, etc etc. In Eaglesoft, all of these features are an extra charge. Customer support is not the greatest with Eaglesoft either. That is another extra fee to get that help.

Recommendations

It is a good program. We are a smaller office, and it works well. If you are looking for a program that has more features, i may suggest venturing elsewhere.

It is easy to schedule patients and it is very customizable.

Treatment planning is very difficult and it is also hard to apply secondary insurances to claims, it usually doesn't do the processing correctly and we have to change it afterward.

Recommendations

Make sure that treatment planning is easy so that the docs do not have to worry about it constantly.

I like the fact that that this product interfaces well with my Shick sensors.

Company is unresponsive to put in updates that are critically needed. The perio charting will not allow you to chart any depths above a 10 and will not chart zeros. I have asked to be able to put multiple prescriptions on 1 page of paper, asked for upgrades to what we can do with text notes, the ability to get the customized reports that I need for years. I have spoken to vice presidents inside the company and they DO NOTHING to help me/us use the software better. They say that the are responsive to what dentists need but I do not see that to be true. I wish I would have gone with Dentrix.

Recommendations

Be careful and speak to at least 5 other users that have been using it for as long as I have. I began with them in 1987.
