Carecenta, Inc. has focused on bringing software to the Home Health industry for over a decade. Its namesake product is a web-based system designed to improve the relationships between the lives of patients, coordinators, and caregivers through next generation technologies.

Carecenta has an integrated suite of available applications that are adaptable to each agency's unique company environment. The Point of Care functionality includes multilingual telephony support with 800-number attendance verification. The Visual Scheduling module features conflict alerts, resource scheduling, and waitlists; map-based availability searches promote efficiency of movement while automated Appointment Validations decrease labor costs. Functionalities for Human Resources (including payroll and attendance verification) and Billing (featuring RAP support, claim scrubbing, eligibility verification, and billing services) are automated. Carecenta also has Accounting and Customer Relationship Management capabilities. Fully mobile and Internet accessible, Carecenta integrates data from all sources to ensure that users can have a complete view of up-to-the-minute information.

The Best Software for Scheduling

When my associate and I started our new agency four months ago, we didn’t have any scheduling software in place. We tested several different types of home health software, and found that Carecenta offered the most for our money. It was considerably easier to use as well. I really like how the schedules are now color coded. I can see each time block better and there isn’t any confusion. I even have verification when my nurses arrive, and I can see if they are on time or not. Using Carecenta software has made my life as an office manager very easy. I can even utilize the software from my phone. To be honest I was nervous about our transition to Carecenta. But luckily, the customer service team has helped us from the beginning till present and has been amazing.

Dealing with more than 500 home health aides on a daily bases, I needed a dependable home health software that I could use and trust. Carecenta has given me that. Carecenta has built in compliance checkpoints that makes it simple to stay in full compliance with the government.

The maps integrated feature with real time data lets me view the location of my HHA’s. I can see instant authorization and notifications with Carecenta software. These features have increased my home health company’s efficiency. I’m really happy we finally switch to Carecenta.

I didn't like the wait for the demo. I hate to wait a few days instead of instant.

Carecenta has made EVV simple for my home healthcare agency. Now we can make sure that our HHA’s arrive at the correct location and that each patience receives the correct care based on their MD form.

Carecenta has a unique interactive telephony system that allows me to view the actions of my HHA’s. With Carecenta’s latest technology, I can track the progress of each home health aide and the care of all patience’s. Carecenta home health software serves as an advocate to the home health industry.

The demo took some time to complete, but other then that nothing crosses my mind.

Recommendations

For almost 10 years, my company was using another software system that was costing us time and money because it could not meet our needs in nursing support for home care service. When we finally started using Carecenta, we were very impressed with its performance track record and rich functionality. It almost too good to be true - we save so much time on work tasks, it's incredible.

Carecenta is very easy to use, and as a result, It took less than two hours to train our entire staff. It is the most advanced and powerful management and financial software for the home care industry.

Likes Least

I feel I could use a little more training than the 2 days Carecenta staff provided. There are some smart functions that are not obvious at the beginning and take a bit more time to get familiar with. I would recommend taking at least 4 session of training.

Recommendations

During the transfer, our primary concern was data loss. That concern proved to be a non-issue because Carecenta developers have everything secured. Amazingly enough, the transfer only took one day.

My professional experience as a case coordinator spans more than 12 years. At times, it seem almost impossible that I've been in this industry for so long. I think that may be because I'm so dedicated to my work. Helping to turn lives around gives me tremendous satisfaction and a great sense of personal accomplishment. I am quite familiar with most of the home care industry management software, because software is an integral part of my everyday work. It was a big plus when I discovered Carecenta, because the software makes my life so much easier.

To give you some examples, authorizations and employee compliance are very high priority with me when it comes to scheduling an open case. Carecenta provides unique features that track authorization, allow me to instantly communicate with multiple HHAs in seconds via text right from the software, include electronic visit verification tracking, and full compliance.

Carecenta constantly improves and upgrades its features. Just last week they’ve improved their visual HHA availability search on the map. Now I can mass-text or mass-email to all aids in the vicinity of my patient using a private text number and get their responses back on my own cell, and even send message back to them without revealing my own cell number, through Carecenta. All messages are also stored in employee record. Awesome!

The only downside I can think of is that Carecenta doesn't go far enough in covering medical and skilled nursing services. It does have medication tracking and nursing fillable forms, however I would recommend adding OASIS functionality, although this wouldn't be necessary for my company, since we are not billing for any of the nursing services.

Recommendations

To help you evaluate the home care soft and to address the previous review, I think you might benefit a lot and do more with Carecenta by not skipping training and dedicating some real time and effort to it.

We chose Carecenta because we needed an integrated scheduling, billing and payroll software, and then found that Carecenta enables us to be in compliance with state and federal licensing regulations with our employees as well. We then discovered that Carecenta has a map-based caregiver search feature. I couldn’t believe it. We actually have a system that makes our agency unstoppable.

Pros

While on boarding is always difficult and overwhelming when switching providers, the customer service representative was immensely helpful.

Cons

When we experienced any bumps in the road, as any agency does, the customer service team has always been prompt to answer questions, research any issues or special requests that we might have.

Advice to Others

Overall, it's a great software and Carecenta people were very helpful to ensure that we have a smooth experience, which is so important when you provide services.

Being that my agency covers a seven state region, we work with many different insurance companies, so initially we had a lot of trouble finding a home health software that could handle our insurance and reporting requirements.

The layout of Carecenta was so smooth and easy to follow. Everything we needed was right there. As Carecenta’s sales agent progressed with his demo I was more and more impressed. Everything was easier than the other system we were using. When he showed me their scheduling, I was sold. I never in my 12 years of running an agency have I ever encountered a software that is this efficient.

Pros

I can now stay in full compliance with the government in every state we cover by using Carecenta. Carecenta home care software has really made my agency more profitable.

Cons

Carecenta seems very simple to use, however, you still need training. They provide it as part of setup but you have to pay for it.

Advice to Others

Make sure all your employees devoted at least 4 hours to the training. I didn't and spent a lot of time afterwards.

By using Carecenta I am able to see authorization for patience care faster. I am notified if there are any problems with compliance applying to any of my HHA’s and can quickly navigate to anther HHA to send out to the patience. The cloud based system allows me to view my HHA’s schedule from anywhere. Plan of care is now manageable because of Carecenta software. As long as I have internet access I can check to see that my HHA’s have completed all daily tasks. This insures me success for my agency.
This is really helpful.

Pros

Many hours of manual management were saved and redirected to growing our business. Our Carecenta WOW moment was in the first month of use. We quickly realized that our accuracy increased and our efficiency went up by 100%.

Cons

Carecenta is probably more sophisticated that we would need since we don't use all the skilled nursing part.

Responsive support and customer service that makes updates and listens to feedback. Very good Help Desk documentation.
The dashboard with projected attendance and sign-in is very helpful. Great customer service that is there all the time and helps quickly resolve issues.
Top of the line technology. Seamless transitions between scheduling and billing. It talks minutes to do the entire week of billing for all 210 patients we have.
It¿s a loud-based software so I work on things from anywhere, office, home or on-the-go.

I've been our home health agency's IT manager for almost three years now and we absolutely love Carecenta software. Our nurses use it to follow the individual¿s plan of care. They print out the plan and cross each task off they complete. The print out comes in handy for them on their busy days. Our office staff loves the flexibility of scheduling that the software provides. Our administration loves the dashboard Carecenta provides. It gives us access to any information we may need. My experience with Carecenta has been fantastic. The reason why we chose Carecenta over our competitors was that Carecenta gave us a better value for our money. I like being notified if any of our nurse¿s forms are missing or need renewal, we can now stay up to date.

Because of this feature, we are able to stay in government compliance at all times and that has saved us money. I feel better knowing I can see where our caregivers are with the maps feature. This way we can pin point any issues that may accrue. I have much more time to concentrating on my cases. I can finally give my review on this time saving software. We purchased Carecenta home health software about seven months ago after doing all of our scheduling manually and the office staff really loves it. I¿m not sure how we did that process manually for many years. Billing takes minutes with electronic billing and not one number is missed.

Our payments from Medicaid are received faster surprisingly. My agency tripled its cash flow since we started using Carecenta. The trainers at Carecenta were fantastic. I am a very slow learner and they took their with me, and broke it down so I could understand the process. A 5 star company indeed.

Finally I found Carecenta! To my surprise the software works like its promised. The software helps our caregiver complete the patient¿s plan of care more efficiently. I really like how the software has a unique interactive telephony system, it helps me keep track of the actions of my caregivers electronically. Best part is, I don't have to be in the office to view this. The system is just so easy to use, and the customer support has to be the friendliest people out there. We became extremely profitable. The systems dashboard allows us to access any piece of information quickly making the audit process simple. I have nine years in the home health industry, and this is the first time I work for a company using Carecenta. I have been using Carecenta software now for 10 months. I find that the staff at Carecenta is great to deal with and very supportive. The software is easy to work with right through billing and scheduling. SMS messages can be sent to the caregivers using Carecenta and the best part is that these messages are HIPAA compliant. Carecenta has made scheduling easy now. Everything is done electronically. The Dashboard gives me easy access for any formation obtaining to my agency. This is the first software program for home health that I actually recommend.

Billing Medicaid is now easy using Carecenta software. With electronic billing my agency receives payment faster. I love knowing when I should expect to be reimbursed for submitted and resubmitted claims by using Carecenta software. Because of Carecenta software, I know now if my home health agency is losing money and know exactly where it¿s coming from. For audits I simple go to the dashboard and print out the report that is needed. I have been in business for over eight years and finally my agency has stopped losing money.

We purchased Carecenta home health software two years ago after doing all of our scheduling manually and the office staff loves it! I¿m not sure how we lived without it for so long. With Carecenta I can manage patient schedules electronically.
By using the intelligent case match engine feature, I can now schedule the proper caregiver to the proper case. By using the attendance verification feature I know when each aide has started and when they finish their day. Having the ability to view the actions of my aides closely has improved the quality of my agency.
