I chose Ascentis in a very short time frame after viewing 10 Payroll/HR/Timekeeping software solutions. I am very happy I made the choice I did! The software is flexible, reliable and accurate - three must-haves in payroll.
It is completely customizable, no "cookie cutter" software with Ascentis. The implementation team is great and they helped keep us on track for an expedited roll out.
Timekeeping side (Novatime) can be a little slower in response for support, but the product itself is amazing.

Ascentis is very user-friendly. All fields are self-explanatory. You need no guidance to use this product. It is very simple to use. I highly recommend this product.

Great customer service and the product is very intuitive and easy to use.
Lack of training classes - it's all online videos.
Try to go through all the possible workflows for what you will be doing in the system

Its wide area of influence and the ability to integrate HR with Payroll.
There were a few upgrades that I thought were part of the package.
Thoroughly investigate the packages before you decide on the product.

The ease of use; simplicity for employees to understand; timeliness of change submissions
Nothing comes to mind, calculations are very accurate.
User friendly, current employee information, easy for employee to interrupt.

i love that it is very simple to use. and I especially love the reporting capabilities. There are tons of reports ready to use, and it's very easy to create your own custom report.
What i like least is how it looks. It could be updated. Other than that, it works just fine.
Go with the easiest to use. HR systems can be complicated, but if it's user friendly, it can be your best friend.

I find the application easy to use and very straightforward. The vendor team has great customer service and is very helpful.
Setting up the reporting is difficult at first, but once it is run the first time, you can save and re-run it with different dates.
Think about how you use it to save time and be efficient. Think of how you used to perform the task and how you perform it now.

Our company experience rapid growth over the course of two short years, and we desperately needed an HRIS system to house all of our information. There is no way we would've been able to keep up with our growth had it not been for the implementation of Ascentis HRIS and Time/Payroll.
We experienced some implementation woes, as was to be expected, but the main issue has been with the flow of our HR employee info and benefit elections flowing over accurately to Payroll and our carrier connect pieces.
Really take the time to evaluate your work processes and see how much you can incorporate using this system. Using the self-service portal, manager self-service, employee self-service, Ascentis time, etc., and mainly the elections flowing over to our carriers has saved us a tremendous amount of time!

Very user-friendly. Easy to use, and all pertinent material is accessible.
Minor glitches. Inability to make changes without having to contact support.
No recommendations, although it would be amazing if there was a practice management software included in it.

One of the things that I was looking for was an HR system that would link to the Payroll system so I wouldn’t have to do dual entries. This system provided that for me. The other tabs we have added on the HR side is Education (degrees held) and Salary survey information, so this has come in handy for requests that come up. It also makes it much easier for the EEOC reporting along with the Worker’s Compensation reports because data can be entered there too.
The Employee Self-Service tool through Ascentis is very clean and uncluttered compared to other systems. I had another vendor do a presentation for me, and the screen itself looked way too overwhelming. I didn’t want to make it too difficult to use for both the managers and the employees. Since we have rolled out the Self-Service tool, my employees love it! They are so excited about the features and how much they can access for their own screens. In fact, we used the Open Enrollment feature so that the employees could go into this system to make changes for the upcoming year. The employees can also access their W-2 forms at any time during the year.
I like everything: HR, Payroll, Timekeeping, Carrier Connect, and the Employee Self-Service tool.
There is nothing that I would change about Ascentis.
The system was easy to use and had a clear, concise screen for both managers and employees to use. We met with other providers, and their products were too overwhelming. I had given them my wish list, and they were trying to sell me all of the bells and whistles instead of what I wanted. That showed me how their customer service was, and it wasn't with the client.
