MEDENT EMR/EHR is an on-premise electronic medical record (EMR), practice management, patient scheduling and medical billing system. It is Meaningful Use certified and includes a dashboard that allows users to track their progress towards attestation.
Chart Central, the main EHR dashboard, gives users one-click access to patient records, messages, documents and labs. The bookmark toolbar feature lets users create bookmarks of the areas in the system they use most, allowing for quicker movement between tasks.
Each patient chart includes a timeline that displays health history in order, starting with the most recent events. New items in the chart can be set to bold for quick identification, and patient photos are included to link faces with important health information.
MEDENT allows providers to look patients up by multiple pieces of identifying information, including insurance policy number, phone number or from a list of upcoming appointments. It can be deployed in the cloud or as an on-premise system with cloud backup capabilities.

This system seems to be way overpriced than other EMR/EHR systems. Customer service could be more responsive.

Tech support via email is quite fast.
The EMR side of Medent is good, better than our previous EMR so I'm a little torn in reviewing it, but the practice management part is very disappointing. The ratings below are based on that.
Inferior training prior to implementation. Processes are much more time consuming and cumbersome than with our prior practice management software. Costing us much more in payroll hours and employee frustration. We have had two people from our billing office (who have been here for many years) threaten to quit, which would be disastrous.
Calling Tech support is sometimes frustrating as you have to leave a message and by the time they call you back, you could be unavailable (with a patient). We sometimes ask for support to email their replies, which helps and prevents hours or days of phone tag.
Ask for real life scenarios. Insist on breakdown of step-by-step processes to achieve certain objectives. The demos we had did not represent this accurately and appropriately and the billing portion of the program is much, much more bulky than we ever imagined. We would not have chosen Medent had we known.

The system is user-friendly and customizable. Telephone support is quick and helpful.
Our practice has had trouble recently with some of the hardware provided by the vendor. Obviously, this is not a problem directly caused by MEDENT.
Take advantage of the extensive training that MEDENT offers. That time and money will be well spent.

I like the ease of use and support as well as the templates and plan packages. Pages are easy to navigate. Updates are timely.
I dislike the inablity to change menu items independently. Otherwise, there's not much I don't like about the product. Compared to others I talk to, it is one of the easier systems to use and tailor.
Try it, use it, and get trained with it. The time will allow you to tailor the software to best fit your daily needs.

It is not that easy to navigate. A more Windows type feel would make it more user friendly.
Plan on doing several site visits of differing sizes of practices and multi-practice organizations to understand how it will work for you.
