drchrono EHR is a patient care platform that offers customization at the point of care and on the go. In addition to EHR, drchrono also includes scheduling, billing and patient reminders. It is available on iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch.

Healthcare providers can utilize only the applications, technology and back-office functions they need. This platform automates patient check-ins, documentation, e-Prescribing, medical billing and more.

The patient personal health record app (PHR) and patient check-in apps guide patients through registration; at their next visit they simply confirm their information with a tap.

M*Modal lets providers tap, speak and document patient visits on the software's built-in forms, all of which can be customized.

FreeDraw is an available app that lets providers and office staff notate diagrams, X-rays or other files; they can also use the iPad's built-in cameras to take pictures and embed them in the patient's record.

Prescriptions can be sent electronically via iPhone, iPad, and the Internet; software can offers e-fax capabilities.

Big promises, little performance

Within days of purchasing the system I realized I made a mistake. I attempted to resolve this issue and corporate referred back to the contract and essentially said 'too bad, you signed a contract' Keep in mind I never implemented the system and was in the training process when I discovered the gaps in service and the corporate policy of profits before service. My business fax number is now lost, so my patients and colleagues can't fax me, I now need to get a new fax number and change everything that had my fax number on it. I do not and will not use. Be very careful before you sign on the dotted line with this company.

Pros

Dr. Chrono has a nicely packaged sales promotion. They even speak of a free one month trial, but my free trial turned into a debt that I can't get out of.

Cons

Terrible service, little effort to do what is right for the physician. They botched my fax number and now I have to get a new one, creating a lot of stress and cost to my practice.

Auto reminder does not work properly for almost 3 months.

We can't give any pro comments until this issue is resolved and feel it is unfair to give any positive comments when we are loosing business.

Cons

It has been three months and the auto reminders is still not working properly. With multiple locations we are at an all time high with the auto reminder still not working properly. There are days where it does work and then there are day where not a single reminder is set. We have been told that this was a global issue and that it has been fixed but yet it hasn't. The auto appointment reminder was major selling point and feel very disappointed.

Pros

Ease of use and functionality. Paper use and printing are basically gone. Faxing is electronic and quick.

Cons

It has it all so there is a lot to learn. I use everything they have and sometimes get negative feedback from my patients who demand a person who speaks good english. Not much cultural diversity in my patients.

We are a start up practice that has multiple specialties. We have Chiropractors and Nutritionists on staff and Dr. Chrono has been great keeping everything all in one place. We run many different labs and our office is as paper free as you can be in today's day and age. We love being able to scan previous labs and save them underneath different patient folders. We also love the customizability for appointment profiles and note templates. EHR's in general are going to be more slow than paperfiles for recording notes, but DrChrono makes it a lot faster.

Cons

The only negative thing I have to say about the program right now is the additional costs to add practitioners to the software.

This product ties in all aspects of your office Scheduling, billing, and notes. Productivity of the office is increased using the software. The ease of getting a medical note that is compliant and quick to do. Nice to do notes from your phone.

Cons

Some of the billing remittance can be difficult at first. After doing some of the same problems a couple of times it gets easier.

I only used Dr. Chrono one time because it was too confusing for the class to use and we weren't assigned anymore work in it. Kind of a waste of money.

The software did familiarize me with the EHR and was very helpful. I liked that I could see what an EHR looked like and how to use it.

The two screens were a little confusing and very time consuming. I had my instructor help me and it took us a long time to complete.

I love their customer service video conference call. You can get all your questions answered very quick and if you need help in a certain area they send you training videos!

Pros

All out staff and providers love this systems. Its so easy manage, we provide unique procedures and I love that we area able to adjust all the templates to meet our needs. It has all the features we need and more. Also if there is something you don't like you just hide it from your view! Our patients love the patient portal!! This is system is HIPAA complaint and very affordable.

Cons

Online scheduling can be tricky if you have multiple locations. However our account manager was able to help us figure out whats the best way to get this set up.

Simple form builder/template builder tools do not require advanced computer knowledge to customize every option one might need.

Cons

only drawback--no immediate phone number for support. Start all troubleshooting via email. But tickets are usually resolved promptly.

Once you learn the system it is easy to use. I have created a filing system that helps me ensure that I do not miss progress notes or re-evaluations.

Pros

Notes are easy to customize to the needs of the clinic. Billing is simple and straight forward. Notes are saved in real time so information is never lost. It is easy to access past notes and patient information.

Cons

This product is not best suited for for physical therapists. It fails to create a plan of care for patients (it does not carry forward goals, diagnosis, or the plan of care for each note under the current case). The system does not flag you for charges, re-evaluations or progress notes.

I like the most the ease of scheduling patients. Can stay on the calendar and add new people to the system with new patient button, very user friendly. Can just hover over appt for pt demographics makes calling and verifying appointments a breeze as well as drchrono sends out reminders to patients that are customizable!

Cons

I do not like that the med list doesn't carry over and isn't easy to use. I do not like that I cannot email patients from dr chronos.

The patient portal, communication and confidentiality, patients are able to request medication , communicate concerns and retrieve records . We also like the New referral option, we are able to send a referral to other physician offices along with documents necessary to aide in the patients care , we are able to send everything in one fax. Very useful tool.

Cons

The site can run slow at time, also we are not able to complete some forms and orders online, in which would really be useful to be able to complete and send a Physical Therapy Referral or Prescription to the patient via the portal.

The software is easy to use, i like that, my wife too. the facility to access the patient, the way to speech to the ipad is so cool.

Cons

you do not have somebody at the moment when you need it. the icloud thing is half and half, most of the time you have to close the app and restart it to continue with the work. Labs are always a problem they never receive it. with that situation of the labs i can tell that maybe is the labs company and not the Drchrono, but im not 100% sure whos guilty for that.

I learned how not to pick software. Because of this experience I found jane.app which is easy genius and way less expensive.

I appeared to be easy and useful at first, but that was deceptive. we never got off the ground because of too many errors.

Cons

We told them we didn't have ipads and yet they didn't mention you can't check anyone in with out them. They put in our data wrong and our patients were upset because they got reminders saying they had appointments with practitioners they didn't know. They never returned some of our emails

This is a great starting EHR because they offer the free option to start so you are able to work with it for awhile before committing to a payed version.

Cons

The customer service is good but not great, several times I have had questions or needed help with an issue and it has taken upwards of a week to get things solved sometimes unresolved. When they do updates they don't give new tutorials telling how things have changed and how to utilize the new additions.

I like the rendering of information from one template to the next, ie, med review to med review. I like the search feature it is quite thorough.

Cons

I do not like that the notes do not render across templates such as the HPI in the Initial "Psych Eval" does not pull through to the "Annual Update" template
I do not like the medication ordering section, it is really difficult to tell what is ordered and what is d/c'd, etc

Pros

I love how very self explanatory Dr. Chrono is. I find it very easy to navigate from reporting to scheduling. The support staff is very responsive and attentive for any and all questions. Any time I needed assistance I received responses promptly. Every staff member that I spoke with always took the time to show me step by step instructions and were always available for follow up questions down the road.

Cons

The biggest problem that my clinic has run into with this software is that we have three different doctors in our practice that each have there own ways of taking payments, but because we only have one license for Dr. Chrono is hard to know which doctor the patient owes money too considering they see all three. We have worked around the problem, but it's very time consuming.
Also the reporting was very minimal but has gotten better through the years

I like the organization of the program and the ability to provide templates that are necessary to my use. I love how the program has set up mental health and physical disorders already recorded in order for me to use when dealing with diagnostic tools.

Cons

It feels complicated and has too many options for me to use when first starting out. Not user friendly for beginners.

1. That it is web based
2. That it is cheap per provider and added users compared to other EMR systems
3. The statistical graphs ie pie charts are pretty neat and easy to read

Cons

1. Patient demographics don't always save making billing difficult
2. Customer service and EMR support is very unreliable
3. Training programs CANT answer simple questions
4. Templates are difficult to create
5. Building documents and implementing them are almost impossible
6. The daily clinic schedules per provider are too elementary and color scheme difficult

Web interface is very good, particularly with the introduction of advanced task management. Easy to track electronic communication. Appointment templates are very helpful.

App interface is great for physicians, but limited since it requires an iPad. Ideally, our Doctors could use a Surface device and have access to app interface and web interface as there are benefits to each interface.

Billing Team - staff and support is rock solid. Responsive, polite and respectful of the importance of timely A/R processing and communication. By far, the Billing Team is the best representation of what DrChrono could be.

The basic system is strong, robust and could be a truly excellent product with some relatively simple tweaks to managements attitude towards customer concerns.

Cons

DrChrono does not have empathetic listening skills for business concerns, outside of the billing staff.

Any and all criticism is dismissed and blamed on the user (see their responses to reviews here).

Simple measures that would save their customers time and money (like a Windows app) are ignored. They act like Apple is their biggest customer (no Windows or Android support despite requests from clients).

Support tickets are routinely closed prior to problem resolution. They do not allow you to call in to support for assistance, and often it seems like staff does not read the initial problem request as you have to repeat yourself 3-4 times (and get escalated) until you reach staff who can assist with anything beyond the most basic issues.

Issues that impact ability to handle patient care or conduct business are not escalated appropriately. Even if a change they make to the system results in mission critical failures, there is no option to quickly escalate to an appropriate stakeholder at DrChrono.

Simple requests, like customized disclaimers to limit legal liability when patients use the patient portal, are brushed off despite the risk to their clients.

Love the interface of the software and how easily it can be used. Patient information is stored electronically with little or no hassle using the drchrono check-in app

Cons

Some difficulty creating templates and forms. Would like an easier way of creating forms for patients to sign (consents etc)
