NueMD® offers a comprehensive suite of software and services for practices of all sizes. Choose from appointment scheduling, practice management/medical billing software, electronic health records and medical billing services.

NueMD has robust medical billing capabilities. The product’s full feature set ensure claims are filed properly and reimbursed quickly. NueMD operates its own claims clearinghouse, which handles over 3.5 million claims each year; users can process an unlimited number of claims.

NueMD billing services offers the expertise of Certified Professional Coders and the transparency of constant communication about claims statuses; users report recouping lost revenue and increasing reimbursements between 5 and 10 percent within 60 days.

NueMD EHR is ONC-ATCB certified and offers robust functionality for clinical workflows. In addition to charting, the EMR includes e-prescribing, laboratory report tracking and secure fax management.

NueMD is priced on a monthly subscription basis, which includes an unlimited number of users and practice locations. Upgrades and support are also included. NueMD offers a customer support instant messaging system; responses are typically within 30 seconds or less. 

NueMD is cloud-based, and is delivered over a secure Internet connection. NueMD claims over 7,000 providers representing nearly 100 specialties as customers. Practices that favor Apple computers can run NueMD on the Mac OS; of course, it also supports Windows environments. NueMD Mobile gives access to practices’ clinical and financial data on-the-go.

Cloud based makes it convenient. It is one of the least expense options.

Very little assistance with setup. The amount of training time provided (without additional fees) was insufficient even for someone who is computer savvy. Troubleshooting with customer service (if you're available to call them during business hours M-F 8-5) is a dead-end much of the time.

Recommendations

Ask how much is involved with setup (NueMD requires the user to input a lot of data which is very time consuming). Ask about training - how much is included and what hours are available.

When I was searching for new software for my office, I was told to try Nuesoft. I did and did not try any other product. The initial training from them was spot on. We have used this software for approximately 8 years and have never had a problem. If we have any questions, they are always available and if I want to customize and reports, they are happy to assist.

I love how simple it is to enter EOB details in to each ticket. Monthly billing to our patients is made very simple as well and the invoices look very professional.

Our Chiropractic doctor is not fond of the SOAP note options. Since he sees so many patients often times more than once per week, it is hard for him to use the SOAP notes in this program. He prefers that the notes be transferable with all information from one visit to another because visits tend to be rather similar. He was unable to do that with this program.

Absolutely do the training, it is totally worth it. It helps navigate the program with much ease.

The vendor was quick to get back with us from start to finish. If we had a question or an issue the response time was quick and problems were fixed. The product itself is very easy to navigate. I love how you can easily transition between tasks. The ability to utilize tech support at the click of a button is a great function. This is hands down the most user friendly software I have seen.

I do not like how when typing in a diagnosis/CPT code the program starts to auto populate. We have claim denied because we did not catch the fact it was populated with the wrong code.

Recommendations

Have each department manager sit through a demo and ask questions pertinent to their field.

We find the customer service is 10/10. Creating a ticket and billing are simplified. The EMR overall is user friendly.
The company continues to update and mprove to the EMR.

The downsides have been the difficulty with setting up the templates for documentation, students reporting difficulties with signing in to the on-line portal.

Recommendations

Compare charting/templates with other companies, cost benefit, and ease of billing service.

Our sales rep was very thorough in helping us understand the software and it's fees. We had a couple of hiccups at first but he assisted us in fixing them. I like fact that it is cloud based product and I can work from anywhere. I also use Practice Fusion as our EMR, and they work beautifully together. My superbills are easily sent to NueMD and our insurance denials are down to a minimum.

Sometimes posting payments is a little tedious, but with all the training and our user manual; the job gets done timely.

Recommendations

Make sure if you do some direct billing on an insurance website, the support staff take you step by step on the posting process. It's doable but sometimes confusing. Please call Michael Palmer for your sales rep. He is awesome and will help you in anyway possible.

Its ease of use, and the fact that it is cloud based, so I can work from the office, at home or even while on vacation. The folks that work for NueMD are great at answering my questions and helping me with issues in a timely fashion. I love my trainer. She is always just an email or phone call away!

Sometime I think some of the processes are a little tedious and not well spelled out in the system. For example, if I want to post a secondary check payment, it seems I have to go through a lot of clicks just to get it posted correctly.

Recommendations

I think others would like the portability of the product. I use it in conjunction with Practice Fusion. I work with PA's who are seeing patients in a nursing facility, so they put their documentation in PF and then they drop the superbill to me to bill through NueMd.

I like that billing and scheduling can be done on the same product.

There are some issues with getting locked out of the system and having to restart. Also, there are some issues with billing not being sent to the insurance company, and it has to be resent again at a later date. I have not personally used customer support, but I was told by a co-worker that customer support would not help them without us paying. I do not think that it a good way for customer support to help it's clients.

Recommendations

I think the customer support should be tested. I also think that there should be information evaluated about the billing and scheduling side.

I like the simplicity of the software. It is very simple to add new insurance, CPT and ICD10 codes to your preferred list. Everyone you needs is there you just have to select what you want. Entering of charges is also a breeze

The NueMD software is usually good although we have run into glitches and errors that interrupt getting work done. It is easy to learn and understand. I really liked the platform and would have stayed if they didn't have such terrible customer service.

The customer service is atrocious. They were very accommodating in the sales phase but as soon as we were in contract, everything changed. We have to constantly follow up on any request or question and it takes weeks to hear a response. We requested that one of our facilities not be renewed as we were no longer billing for that facility. Not only was the contract automatically renewed, we were made to feel as though it was our fault for not having a short term contract that was never presented to us (we provided multiple emails showing we did not want to renew the contract). We received snide emails from their client services department (with no name attached) trying to justify their sly underhanded business practices. I would definitely NOT recommend NueMD to anyone solely for the terrible customer service and sneaky practices.

Recommendations

Customer service matters! I'm currently looking for software that provides a great product with great customer service (maybe a company that provides service geared training to it's staff). My advice would be to NOT get in a contract with NueMD!

nothing!! There is really nothing we liked there were hidden costs that were never discussed.

They charge you for every 500mb of data storage. They never said they were charging me an additional 1% for copays that they had no part in collecting. They do not return phone calls. It has been several months and we have yet to enter a single note!! It is a very poorly run setup they sell you the world then want nothing to do with you after.

Don't be tricked and sweet talked into buying this lemon of a software.

I like how user friendly this product is. We use this product primarily for billing and it has been great. I also appreciate the unending customer support that Nusoft provides. It is also a manageable price for small medical practices each month.

I would love for this product to shift into a billing system as well as a Patient Health record so we would not have to interface with an additional software system.

Recommendations

I would recommend that other practitioners use the software at it's fullest capabilities rather than primarily a billing system.

The software itself is absolutely easy to use and comes with everything our Cardiology practice needs. NueMD contains highly customizable EHR templates, updated ICD's, and simplifies our patient encounter process. Our Cardiologist's take less time typing or dictating their reports and spend more face time encounters with their patient's. NueMD's software has improved our practice's overall efficiency and has added significant value. We are able to synchronize our ultrasound and nuclear imaging reports seamlessly to each patient's record and are able to correspond all encounters to referring MD's with breeze. Surprisingly, the best part about this product, is their support system. They are all very sweet, helpful, and accomodating!

None. The price is very competitive compared to other EHR software's. I'm amazed how other EHR vendors could charge more and provide less. NueMD definitely has the best value for one's buck!

Recommendations

Try them out and tell them your current EHR or practice management problems. See how they can help minimize and eliminate most of it.
