Greenway Medical Technologies was founded in 1998. Since then, it has emerged as one of the leaders in ambulatory care and clinical research software systems. The company’s flagship product, Greenway PrimeSUITE 2011 offers a complete suite of applications, which the company refers to as “physician infrastructure.” That phrase captures the fact that the company has built functionality that goes far beyond electronic health records (EHR) and practice management. For example, the company offers its own interoperability solutions.
PrimeSuite 2011 is well suited for a wide range of specialties and primary care providers. However, the company’s solutions are also well suited for integrated delivery networks, regional extension centers, health information exchanges, and independent practice associations.
Greenway has been on the forefront of the ARRA stimulus program and has already achieved 2011/2012 ONC-ATCB certification. Therefore, providers using the system are eligible to receive stage 1 stimulus funds when they achieve meaningful use.
PrimeSUITE 2011 is available as both an on-premise solutions, or hosted as an on-demand service whereby Greenway hosts the system for its customers.

The clinic was using POMS software which was dreadfully out of date and I knew the entire system needed an overhaul. I was taking it one issue at a time, when our CEO told me he thought we should pursue this "EMR thing". That was all I needed. After researching several systems, I narrowed it down to two choices for my doctors to look at. Hands down, they chose Greenway for its flexibilty and ease of use.
We bought our system directly through Greenway and were pleased with the installation. Our implementation was sort of rough, because even though our doctors wanted the change, they were not willing to listen to the Greenway staff (or me) and slow down their schedule in order to train properly. That was a big mistake on our part, however, we were told what we needed to do.
Our front office and billing staff caught onto the system almost immediately. We are utilizing lots of the functionality but have not tapped into all that is available. One of our nurses and I attended Primeleader 2012 and are signed up again for Primeleader 2013. That was extremely helpful and gave me lots of opportunities to network with other users.
We do receive good customer support - better than other systems I have used, but occasionaly have to wait longer than we want to for some questions. I think that is just the mentality of "I want what I want, when I want it!!" that most of us have.
The meaningful use dashboard has made it so easy to get our meaningful use money! That was a life saver for me.
Overall I am very pleased with our selection and how Greenway works with us.
They are very easy to deal with and the support staff is always kind; never treating you as a dummy even though you may really be slow to understand.
The training and implementation process was very thorough and responsive to our specialty. Our billing process has been streamlined thanks to Greenway. We have been able to be more efficient and timely with our billing process. Greenway is very dedicated to the particular needs and requests of its customers. I love the reporting capability.
Customer service has always been one of their greatest strengths. The owners truly believe in helping not only big practices, but also small practices. We are excited to be using Greenway, and we look forward to continue to grow with them.
The charge posting is very user friendly.
I will say one of the issues we seem to run across more than any other is with the eprescribe functions. It is normally something that we can call to customer service and get resolved but it is just time consuming.
We have been with Greenway Medical Technologies since January 1st, 2005. We were with Companion Technologies, which at that time they were trying to go EHR and never could get there. Our new, younger physicians had wanted to look at a more user friendly computer system and they wanted something that would take us into the future.
We are currently on the latest version of PrimeSuite and the capabilites are endless. I actually went through the implementation process in 2004 and went to Carrollton for training. They actually sat down with us one-on-one and what they helped us build, we are still using in our office today. When it came time for the office as a whole to train, Greenway sent four trainers (two for chart and two for administrative) and they made the transition as smooth as possible. They made sure that everyone, including the physicians, were comfortable using the system before they left.
The support that we get from them is like no other. They pride themselves on really helping the consumer. I remember before we actually hired ICS as our IT company we were trying to do it ourselves. Well, one of the network switches went down so half of our office was not able to work. I did not really know what to do except to call Greenway Support. I was in a panic and Al who works in support and Greenway diagnosed my problem, he then called Best Buy to get them to hold the piece of equipment that I would need to replace and then he walked me through getting those users back online again. Now if that is not customer service then I am not sure what is.
We currently have implemented PrimeMobile, PrimePatient, PrimeSpeech and parts of PrimeDataCloud. Each of these Primes are awesome in their own right.
PrimeMobile is great becasue the physician can actually in put a picture or free text a note directly into the patients chart from the hospital while they are making their rounds. They can also check their schedule, view the full patients chart and create a charge from their phone/ipad.
PrimePatient is a very nice feature because the patient can communicate with us through this portal without having to make a phone call. The Patient forms and Health History forms that the patient fills out online directly imports into our system. The patient can also pay their bill on line as well as request prescriptions, medical records, ask a question to our nurses/doctors and even make their own appointment.
PrimeSpeech, which our doctor LOVES gives him the capability to dictate directly into the chart, which improves time savings and accuracy.
PrimeDataCloud is where we go to visit our dashboards. This holds our PQRS measures and it is very user friendly when you go to fill out the information and submit it all to CMS. You have the ability the send patient records for a single visit to other providers/hospitals.
With the help of Greenway Medical Technologies and their Primes we have been able to achieve meaninful use Stage 1 Year 2. We have attested and recieved 266,500.00 in Incenitive money. So if we had it to do all over again, well you bet your bottom dollar we would do things exactly the same.
The reporting and personal customization features are invaluable. We have been very pleased with this software and highly recommend it.
They are a growing corporation with a fantastic product, yet a small company feel that results in great customer service. Our relationship with Greenway is very new and we hope it's a lasting one. Given our limited experience and that of others we have talked to, we are confident that we have made the right choice for our office.
We have been using Greenway, Prime Suite for over 11 years. Purchasing Greenway is a decision we haven't ever regretted. We are a 3 Physician Group with 4 mid-levels.
We actually purchased greenway after a merger of two physicians and two different software programs. Greenway was the only software that completely impressed us and that we jumped on, without hesitation. We currently us Prime Suite Version 16.0.14.22 and will be updating again shortly.
Our implementation, as I recall was a positive transition. We have great in office support and we felt that we were properly prepared to "go live' when the time came. The customer support team was superb and helped us every step of the way.
Our team was extremely excited and eager to learn the software. We found it interesting that our least tech savvy physicians excelled in the learning process.
We know without a doubt that l we have the best medical software to date.
