2015 WRS Health

From the outset, WRS Health was designed to enable doctors to run their whole Practice Enterprise, not just electronic health records (EHR), on one platform.

2013 WRS Health offers EHR, medical billing, patient scheduling, order management, e-prescribing, image management, secure faxing, disease management and more. The product has achieved 2011-2012 ONC-ATCB Certification and CCHIT 2011 Certification. Providers using this system will be eligible for meaningful use incentives.

WRS Health serves roughly 35 specialties, with specific templates, functionality and workflows developed for each. The system also has specific CPT and ICD codes for each specialty. The CEO, Dr. Larry Gordon, is a practicing physician, which has led to the development of the system's logical workflow.

WRS Health is priced based on the number of providers in the organization and consists of a low monthly subscription fee. Prices include support and upgrades and there are discounts available for multi-provider organizations and bundled services.

The best thing about this vendor is working on the program and discovering that if they would add this feature it would make your job more efficient. You send the vendor your suggestions and the next thing you know the feature has been added. The other great feature is having the system make reminder calls and emails to patients to remind them of their appointment.

Likes Least

The vendor needs to add more interfacing with national labs.

Recommendations

Take a look at the extra features that this software offers verses many others. Example: email reminders, Insurance verification on upcoming patient appointments, reminder phone calls 2 weeks before appointments and one day before appointments.

It is constantly being upgraded, and since it is web based, I don't have to do anything but use the improved version. I pay a fixed monthly fee which is affordable. Customer support is great. It is very customizable to the way you practice. Preventive care alerts can be set up for anything and everything. Meaningful use functionality is built in.

Likes Least

Sometimes there are bugs in the new versions but they fix them quickly.
Navigating prior lab work is sometimes clumsy.

Recommendations

Do a test drive and demo, make sure it is going to work for your practice.

The ease of the system. It is very user friendly and very easy to navigate through. It is great being able to have web based and being able to access from any computer as long as you have an internet connection. I have been able to train new providers very quickly and really have minimal complaints from them.

Likes Least

The reports is the thing we are not really satisfied with. We have to manually count a lot of our numbers when it comes to providers numbers and breaking out what types of appointments we are seeing.

Recommendations

Talk to other practices using this system. Make sure you know what is the most important things in a system and that it does what you are looking for.

"Open tabs" option allow each section of the EHR to be opened simultaneously. This allows easy flow through the different sections, facilitating input into each area as dictated by the patient interview and exam. The EHR is particularly amenable to generating procedure, surgery, audiology and allergy testing notes. The revenue cycle module enters charges directly to HCFA 1500 form, which is straight-forward and efficient. The company is easy to work with from top to bottom, and they have been extraordinarily responsive to any identified problems and issues. After working with multiple PM and EHR vendors, I have found WRS to be the most efficient and cost-effective for our practice.

Likes Least

I have no complaints. Any complaints we have is directed at the arduous MU2 requirements and PQRS measures imposed by CMS. The WRS software, however, is properly functional and I have no complaints.

Recommendations

I would not even consider purchasing an in-house server and software package. Utilizing an Application Service Provider via the Internet is much more cost effective and flexible. The software can be accessed and used from any computer connected to the Internet. Proper training is important in order to understand and use any complex software package efficiently. It is important that each employee who is to work or interact with the software package be properly trained.

Users friendly, reliable platform that works fine, with the possibility of customizing my own psychiatric templates and up-to-date diagnosis of the DSM-5 readily available. My experience with the vendor 2nd to none as they have deliver what I was told in a timely manner with an affordable monthly payment.

About the product , that the scheduled list of patients for the day, scrolls up automatically after I have put the mouse pointer over one patient just to check who he is. Up to know no complaints about the vendor.

Recommendations

To be aware of free ER out there as I myself try a few to no avail and were not Users friendly.

The system is relatively easy to use in all areas from charting to billing. There are a few things missing from other systems but WRS is always open to hearing our concerns & willing to look into these. They seem to add new features/modalities to the program based on these concerns. Customer service is great! My providers like the ease of their charting and ability to use the program from home. Numerous self-guided tutorial and webinars are offered for use of system beside the actual training that is included in the purchase of the system. The cost of this system was one of major factors in our decision to purchase.

Likes Least

Looking up claim history can be a bit tedious, no place to put effective/end dates on insurance information, limited categories for uploading records, some reports are also a bit trying but I really feel that these issues can and will be rectified at some point.

Recommendations

I would definitely schedule a demo and give WRS a chance to show you what they have to offer,

I like that WRS Health is an integrated product for registration, charting, and billing. The support staff has always been helpful and is responsive to suggestions to make workflow even easier. They are very reasonably priced, especially for a single provider medical practice.

Likes Least

The perfect EHR does not exist, but WRS Health comes close. A few points that I would change. First, I would allow the growth charts to toggle between imperial or metric measurements. Second, real-time on-screen notification of Patient Portal messages would be ideal. Lastly, I would like less clicks to view lab results, but this is most likely a result of my small practice being unable to have direct electronic communication with labs (which require higher volume to offset the cost of connection). Regarding WRS Health as a vendor, I have nothing but good things to say.

Recommendations

Ask a sales rep if you can test drive the product for a few days.

I have been using WRSHealth for almost 3 years. It is very adaptable and customizable. Their staff and support are great. They keep improving it. Meaningful use is "built in," so we can track our progress. There are also built in training videos on meeting meaningful use targets.

Likes Least

It could use a few features such as messaging patients more directly, but I have no real complaints.

Recommendations

Look at how it will work for your practice. Make sure you can track preventive care easily and customize it as recommendations change.

Fairly easy EMR for clinic charting. Adaptable. We have three different providers, and all three use different methods for charting from typing to templates to dictating.

Likes Least

Lack of a consolidated calendar. As we are surgeons, we are different places throughout the week, and at the moment there is no good way to see your calendar for the week at all the different locations. We still have to toggle back and forth. We have been told they are working on this.

Recommendations

As for evaluating, I recommend doing several demos of different EMRs. Pay attention and take notes. The right fit for your practice is out there.

The WRS system is easy to use. Staff can easily figure out how to use the system using the self-help training modules in the system. It allows for an efficient clinic flow. The integration with the billing module makes billing seamless and efficient. The system can be accessed on a computer, laptop, or tablet. This allows providers catch up on notes offsite. It enables connections with labs, thereby allowing faster reception of lab results. The patient portal allows patients to interact with their provider and access their chart. You can customize the patient portal using the provided templates to build a clean, attractive portal.

Likes Least

In some cases, it's not a perfect fit for mental health. That said, upgrades have been occurring, which does enhance the system.

Recommendations

Consider your clinic flow, records maintenance, ease of use, billing integration, and patient portal usability and attractiveness.

The system calls a patient at home after the office has scheduled them for an appointment. It calls them back to register them, which is redundant.

WRS is a vast improvement over the last program we used. This program is simple, easy to use and understand, and fairly simple to learn. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for EMR software.

Likes Least

The only problem I have had is that the software will often freeze, and if I am in the middle of charting, I lose my data and have to re-enter it when I close and open the program back up.

Recommendations

EMR programs are very complex and need need to document everything, so make sure you take advantage of all this software can do. Take the training, listen to tips and tricks of super-users, and have time to play around with test patients in the system.

Our medical office has been using this EMR software for a few months now, after switching from a previous EMR. Compared to our last software, this seems easier to use. I'm able to find medical records, labs, and reports quicker. Also, the patient portal on the website that ties in with the software has been great.

Likes Least

I'm not sure if this is a WRS problem or a network problem, but this software does freeze up and need to be closed and re-opened more than occasionally.

Recommendations

Take a while before your office goes live, and make sure you fully understand how to use this software. Ask for help if anything is unclear.
