They are a great company overall and listen to our concerns and try to make changes to make everyone happy. Its kind of like being a parent with 30000 kids. We are needy and all want different things for our clinic. :)

Pros

What I like most about this program is the versatility with the set up of the templates and the fact that they are always up to date on all of the changes with insurances.

Cons

I do not like that two people can be in a chart at the same time and that there is no wait list. The scheduler is not very user friendly to set up templates.

Overall, this is one of the better documentation software available. It has been around for a while and they seem to know what a PT and its office would need.

Pros

1. It is user friendly
2. It has many levels to it such as scheduling, and billing
3. It double checks all documents which helps especially with certain insurances
4. Options for patient to get reminders and paperwork via the web or text

Cons

It is expensive. Each item such as scheduling and billing is separate and each user is a separate cost as well.

Pros

Enough positive that we've used it since 2012. We have seen several good updates, but as with all updates they change other things in the program. They seem to have amateur IT staff.

Cons

Sold their product in Hawaii without support available. Promised they would never again schedule down time during Hawaii clinics hours. Then they did it again

After transitioning over to WebPT, we ended up having to go back to Quickbooks. We are now using Clinic Source and it is amazing for ST. We are now very happy after the past 4 months of chaos.

Pros

Representative on Onboarding and on Therabill support are the stars of the team. There is not anything else positive to report

Cons

There is no versatility. Once something is entered there is no way to go back and change it; It requires the purchase of 2 programs to make it work both WebPT and Therabill; The cost is high and there is no coordination between the two programs. WebPT knows nothing about Therabill and vice versa. WebPT just bought out Therabill and they don't know how to run it, it was down for 2 days; They have poor customer service often taking a week or more to respond with help. Overall this program has been an absolute disaster for our company.

The documentation system is quick, with check boxes, but also allow the ability to type. You can upload your signature to your treatment notes and you can fax them via the EMR system.

Cons

Notes did tend to be long, and I wasn't sure if the physicians even read them due to this. It's on the expensive side for a small practice.

Cons

Having to "add" address, phone numbers, emails etc for each item is cumbersum. Should be able to have all info in one screen . Very limited on the types of reports you can run for marketing and internal use.

After using webpt for 3 months then putting it on hold for 3 months then canceling my account, pretty much tells you that I didn't like it. I was sold on the product by Webpt support stating that I would be able to generate superbills and submit claims to officially but then once I signed up there was no such thing. I had to purchase more options to do that when initially they told me I could with the package I had gone with

Honestly, can't think of one. I know some PTAs liked it because the ease or recreating a note, but every software has that now

Cons

It is not Chiro friendly. The told me it was but once going through it was just all typing and make my macros. Long process or initial notes and daily notes

Advice to Others

Chiros should stick with a Chiro software. Due to having a Pt within the practice, she wanted webpt so I was forced to use it but then she wasn't using the program at all and went back to paper notes

We have used WebPT since it was first developed. Recently we were purchased by another larger organization, which wanted to utilize another EMR. We went through a formal evaluation of several EMRs and eventually decided to implement WebPT system wide.

Overall the software is decent. I feel there are some areas they could improve, but based on the availability of other software (specific to rehabilitation) this is the best option for the price with no contract and unlimited free upgrades.

Pros

They have awesome customer service! They keep their software up to date and are constantly making changes to improving their system. They have awesome provider & biller education articles, keeping me up to date with current industry requirements.

Cons

WebPT's system takes forever to save, especially when doing documentation. Because you have to save any time you do anything it makes simple tasks take longer than necessary. A quick autosave feature would be nice. WebPT's system could be more user friendly. With data entry you're constantly clicking having to switch from keyboard to mouse several times. It would be nice if they had keyboard shortcuts (ie 'alt' 'tab'). A lot of the improvements that could be made in WebPT are small things, but things that would make it using the software more efficient.

Advice to Others

DO NOT USE THEIR BILLING SOFTWARE! The billing software (Therabill) that WebPT is contracted with is horrible and not user friendly. It lacks the ability to do basic functions any billing software should. Our previous billing software (from 2004) had more & better features then their current software, and it doesn't look like Therabill will be changing any time soon. Not to mention a lot of information doesn't even transfer from WebPT to Therabill, making double the work.

Used for a couple of years, jumped ship for a year, and now we're back!

Pros

Awesome customer service - always available and respond quickly. Prior to the new year, we were contacted by WebPT to see if we had challenges or any suggestions for improvements. It's nice to see software companies reach out to their subscribers for information in making their product better - (after all, we are the ones using it and can usually provide great feedback for improvements).

Cons

Would like to see more options for the agenda and reports; more sort/filter options

Advice to Others

Suggest others find out exactly what they need from the software.... the list of needs / wants, etc. and go from there. Not all software is created the same so do your homework before jumping in.

Initial evals take a long time to complete, but they end up being very thorough, so I guess it's worth the time.

What WebPT has done right since it was created.

The interface was designed by a PT. From the start, they tried to make the graphical user interface as friendly as possible. It has always been the best product for the $ in the Outpatient PT realm that I have used. They understood early on that software is a service. When hospital systems were paying for poorly designed software systems with 1980's style templates that played well on the back-end with their existing systems, WebPT was constantly improving their interface to make the least important part of a clinician's jobless aggravating and faster.

Pros

The drop down, fully customizable GUI.

Cons

They failed to create an intuitive interface that learned from a therapist's interaction. Maybe I am expecting too much, but repetitiousness is inherent in patient care. That being said, the primary deficit I noticed over the years is that a goal template is lacking. I include 10-15 goals in each of my evaluations for a reason. I still have to select each goal via a slow, step-by-step process. Their billing service also gets a negative because they charge a percentage to process cash pay patients. Which means you are getting charged for service on an account that they are doing nothing with. This may not seem like a lot at first but ends up costing a clinic a great deal of money.

Advice to Others

The best software I have used for outpatient PT. It will improve when they add voice recognition capability.

An all inclusive program that is user friendly and allows me to do my job in a timely yet professional manner.

Pros

It is extremely user friendly. Everything I need to use is easily accessible or in a logical spot. With the new update I also like the addition of the blue i's for short cuts to useful information. I use this program at least 8 hours a day and sometimes even 12 hours. If a program isn't user friendly it effects my entire job and therefore patient interaction. With WebPT it makes patient interaction timely, and therefore impresses patients, and makes them trust that we know how to help them.

Cons

If I would have to answer this question, the only thing I can think of is that when I need to call tech support it is usually due to wrong visit counts or used authorized visits. This is extremely important so that I can keep the patient informed if we are running out of insurance visits, and authorized visits ensures we get paid for our services. We have a very caring staff, but we can't give away all our services for free or we won't make it as an office.

Sanity, simplicity, assurance.

Pros

WebPT does the heavy lifting for me. They submit information to Medicare on my behalf, send my charges to my billing software, allow me to fax directly from the system, and so much more!

Cons

It is not as tailored to and customizable for SLPs as I would like, and changes to that are slow in processing.

WebPT is good, but it does slow down our PT's a lot more than our older system. The sales team pitched it out to be a greater software system with everything integrated together (webpt and therabill) whereas they are two different websites. Overall, its a good product.

WebPT was an amazing system I used at the rehabilitation facility I worked at. The staff has said WebPT has helped them remain compliant, as it makes sure you follow all guidelines for documentation and you have to do that in order to stay compliant. This level of compliance security has helped incredibly. In two separate audits (one for Medicare and one for Medicaid), representatives asked the team to provide their documentation for review. However, once I informed the reps that we used WebPT, the representatives automatically assumed they were compliant. The Medicaid rep even went so far as to say, Oh, if you use WebPT, we know your paperwork is in order.
Additionally, Doctors love the reports we send them. He said. The level of credibility helped us built close bonds with local physicians has even led to opportunities to join those providers networks. Very great systems I had no complaints.

WebPT has opened our eyes to lots of policies and procedures we might not always know about without them requiring them to be done. They customer service is always soooooo nice, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Pros

The ease of entering all the info through the patients account and the reports that WebPT generates.

Cons

there are some reports that we had with our old software that were very helpful and could use. Doctor referral list for all users, appointment list (includes all future appts for all patients), etc.

Advice to Others

Overall I think it's great. User friendly and easy to tech new employees how to use.

When I started working in this office, we were still using paper charts and a had written scheduling book. When we moved into the electronic age and joined up with WebPT, we were a little nervous - but were quickly surprised and very pleased how easy it was to use WebPT and now I can't imagine not having it! I love that there are always new things added and improvements made that aid in the ease of use. My experience with the customer service/support staff has always been positive - everyone is always very helpful.

Overall we experienced a smooth rollout with WebPT. I have appreciated the prompt customer support as well as the constant updates to changes in medicine WePT provides!
