Teamwork Projects is a cloud-based project management platform suitable for various applications. Features include task lists, time tracking, file uploads and messages.  Teamwork Projects helps teams manage group objectives, communicate and establish business processes.

The project scheduling feature allows project managers to define project tasks, assign them to people and track in-progress assignments. The product also features document management, which allows users to share documents within the team through an online portal.

The client billing feature allows users to generate invoices based on hours worked and expenses incurred. Dashboards provide visibility into project objectives, while project collaboration features enable communication through mobile devices so team members and project managers can oversee project execution remotely.

Teamwork Projects can be integrated with applications such as FreshBooks, Dropbox, Google, Box and more.

Teamwork Projects is a great collaboration tool for everyday tasks for projects of all sizes.

Overall, this program is very useful in organizing larger tasks. I find Google Keep better for small To-do list type tasks and Teamwork more useful for larger projects which will have several different tasks that may take several weeks to complete. Once you have set your templates and assigned collaborators to tasks, you'll find this is a very easy to use tool to organize and log events for various projects.

Pros

Integrates easily with Google Drive and many other applications. This allows you to "store" more files on the Teamwork database without actually using up the storage space.

Easily assign tasks to cooworkers and monitor their progress live. Can even set email notifications when a task is assigned to you or made available for you to work on.

Dependencies feature allows for the user to streamline flow of start to end for all tasks. You won't be able to work on a task until the one prior to is completed.

The ability to create task templates makes it very quick and easy to add task lists with pre set dependencies and assigned collaborators.

Cons

Is a bit pricey compared to some other softwares but definitely has more features.

New Gaant Chart feature is useful but not as intuitive yet. They are always working on updates so I'm sure it will be improved.

Easy to use and works great for what we need it to do: a central location where tasks can be signed out (and avoid someone duplicating a task), an easy way to identify due dates for each particular task (as well as track what is late), separate project folders to keep everything separate (as sometimes task names tend to be the same), can even be used for your own daily personal tasks to check off as you go. I like that as an administrator for the site I can see what is running behind and make the needed changes among the teams. Comments can be added anywhere as well and things link to email notifications if you want them to -- so nothing gets overlooked.

Cons

I guess I just don't know if I'm missing out on some of the functions -- I haven't had time to play around with it too much to see what else it can do.

More a Task Management Than a Project Management Tool

We chose it due its simplicity. We have evaluated different tools and other tools had more to offer but we decided this should be a perfect tool to get our consultants started with a web based tool.

Pros

Fast, easy to use and clear interface.
The basics of task management combined with its built in time tracking tool will boost your productivity.
I liked the kanban view and the price structure that allows invite customers users without paying more.
The users permissions are power and flexible and it has all collaborative tools too.
Easy to find files attached to tasks.

Cons

It has some extra tools as Billing or Calendar that are not really useful.
Billing is not easy to use and Calendar are not synced with Outlook (it is possible to turn it off).
It does not have Financial control (only time control) and very few reporting options.
Time tracking view could offer a weekly view to help reviewing the data.

Super for all aspects of Project Management for Labor

When it comes to creating a project schedule with milestones and tasks, this software is nice for small to mid-sized subcontractors like our company. Very nice program with great potential to grow, and a team that seems interested in continuously improving the product!

Pros

The time tracking is really user-friendly and can report against estimated hours for each task - very simply. Some programs do not allow the flexibility that Teamwork allows when it comes to going from a drilled down project format to a broad view schedule for all projects in progress - teamwork does this nicely. It also allows notes for RFIs, COs, and project logs. Files can be fully uploaded or linked through programs like dropbox. Project photos can be uploaded to each job. The improved Overview gives a nice "quick glance" to see what's going on in each project.

Cons

Does not allow entering estimated materials cost with the ability to track actual expense verses remaining committed costs. It seems the format of the program would readily accommodate this, so it could be one of the improvements the team is working on. The program has an integrated chat that could be extremely powerful if audio was added (like Voxer). For the cost of the program, there is no way that someone could expect these items, but for customers like me, who are so happy with the foundation of it, I would gladly pay more for them - the platform is NICE. Not sure this belonged in the Cons...

Advice to Others

If you are looking for a good tool for scheduling projects and assigning crews - hard to beat. If you are looking for a project management program that will allow you to track the cost of labor against tasks, look no further. After looking extensively through project management programs and even starting several of them like corecon, basecamp, etc... this program proved far better for us. I liked smartsheet, but this program is even sharper!

This product gets the job done but is very hard to use and extremely buggy.

Likes Least

Many of the email alerts don't work and my biggest complaint is the search function. It is impossible to find a previous message in this system and sometimes it will show files by file attachment, message name, task name, or message body (but it is never consistent in what appears)

Recommendations

Use a project management tool like Asana instead, which has consistent email alerts and a great search function.

They obviously have scale and use it to their advantage. We have used them for a while now and I think that they could be doing a lot better in terms of functionality and actual usability.

Likes Least

They lack improvements. Most of their competitors are constantly improving, but they seem to be very comfortable where they are and aren't improving.

Recommendations

It really isn't that great compared to everything else that is on the market (asana, zoho projects, microsoft projects, wrike).

I was part of setting up TeamWork projects for the company I worked for so I know the software from top to bottoms and was the go-to for any company-wide questions. I really liked the ease of how to set-up recurring similar projects and be able to adjust timelines on many tasks with just a few clicks. One of my favorite features is the Gantt chart which allows the user to see a visual timeline of any project and adjust the timeline in the view as well.

Cons

There is a strong lacking of solid reporting features. I can get a very limited number of reports together but can't custom request specific assignees or specific tasks to check on. That ended up with g the biggest reason my company looked elsewhere for project management software.

Efficient project organization.

Pros

This system is very easy to use. It helps keep our projects organized and on schedule. I love the chart view and being able to see the project milestones in relation to the overall project timeline.

Cons

We also use Teamwork Desk for support tickets, which is great because it links to our projects. However, if you're adding a support ticket and there is no project already open to link it to, you have to back out of this dashboard and go into the main teamwork dashboard to create the project.

Pros

Holds everything we need for a project in one place. Manages our staff, and clients. Password protection is nice.

Cons

I am a primary user in the software and use the program to set up clients and hold them accountable. The interface is very user friendly from my perspective within the platform, but for clients what they see is a bit goofy. You have to click around a good bit to get to the information you want.

It makes collaboration from many remote team members really easy. Nothing is forgotten and all communication is centralized in one place.

Pros

It is really easy to add tasks quickly using the "quick add" feature. I also think that the organization works really well. The software is organized by Projects, Milestones, Task Lists, and Tasks. These help you really think through and plan what you are doing. Milestones force you to actually have a plan for your projects and not just go about doing day to day tasks. You can comment on almost anything. We noticed after using Teamwork that it didn't make much difference if you were in the office or remote because the collaboration is so quick and easy. For example, if you comment on a task, you can have the comment sent to someone's email. The person who receives it can just reply to the email and the response is saved as a comment in the task! This means that all those conversations are right there for anyone working on it to reference. No more tracking down email strings. It is really easy to look back and see how much time you have been spending on a client. The time tracking features are also very good. You can see very customized time reports and the workload report, which gives you a forecast of the workload for future time periods. This helps you assign out work. Teamwork support is also top-knotch and very responsive.

Cons

I think they could offer to let you have 4 projects at a time instead of just two in the free version. It can be difficult to take advantage of all the features of Teamwork because it is so robust and has a lot of features.

Easy to use project management tool.

Pros

Combines all the features of different software we are using or tried in the past. Has the tools hard core PMs need to track a project but ease of use that a not technical user can appreciate. The built in collaboration tools are a nice feature as is the ability to store files.

Cons

I can't seem to get it to calculate a task start date based on due date and estimated time required as some other PM tools do. I have to manually do the calculation. It also doesn't automatically assign a project/task number which is a feature we'd like.

Pros

More functionality then we had with Basecamp. This is one of the main reasons we started to look for other solutions. Basecamp just didn't cut it with our growing agency needs.

Cons

UI can be a little tough to get used to, but once you do, it's a great tool. We love the ability to create sub-tasks of sub-tasks. This was a must for our agency.

The main features i like are just the simplicity of the software. Each section just delivers what you want it to do. In comparison to most other systems i have used, you can create a task with a deadline and then subtasks for the main task but the ability to add a due date is never available on other software but it is on Teamwork. The reports and daily emailed tasklist are the real winners, they help enormously so you know exactly what to do in that day, week or months ahead.

Cons

Because there is SO much functionality, getting to know the system can take a while and sometimes you can even miss out on functionality because you try sticking to the basics. The only other gripe is the pricing, its great that its unlimited users but the pricing bands for the projects means that the price jumps quite dramatically at higher project levels.

Organization, save time and money

Pros

I love how organized Teamwork is. One look and I can see the tasks and subtasks for the day. All the functions are there right beside the task name: the timer, description, due date, attached files, etc - everything can be accessed easily, unlike other PM tools where you need to pull up another 'window' to access their features.

I also love that it has a timer on its own, and you don't need to connect it to another app (AKA harvest time tracker)

Cons

Nothing I can't live without. It's not the prettiest pm tool out there - by pretty, I mean visually, aesthetically (think Asana). But I still think it's the best.

Cons

Inability to combine projects. The move/copy function makes it difficult and pops you back into the destination project each time. We sometimes have 2 projects created that later need to become one project and it is very time consuming

I really like the time log feature. It allows you to see exactly where your time goes. Managers can use it to see how their teams time is being spent.

Cons

There is almost too much functionality. It is easy to get lost in everything the software can do. Also the storage limitations could cause issues for companies that use large files.

Simple way to be organized

Pros

Super simple, easy to keep track of my tasks. This lets me manage everything I need to do and gives me a simple way to add what I've done and click completed.

Cons

Not super easy to navigate in the project page as it would be nice to navigate quickly to the projects, tasks and individual lists all on one page.

Manage all my work projects. Can't live without it :)

Pros

Teamwork Projects is a software where I manage all my ongoing projects. I've been using it for over 5 years and switched from Basecamp (after getting frustrated with lack of features there).

My faves about Teamwork Projects is:

1. Integration with Google Drive and Dropbox - I can link files with each project
2. Creating tasks lists with sub items
3. Time tracking, with option to mark it as Billable (which is great for ongoing projects)
4. Notebooks & Links - to keep all project material in one place

Cons

I wish the plans didn't have project limitations. It has a limit of 15 projects.
For a solo freelancer the next plan is too much, but the limit of 15 projects plan often runs short.
(I typically need to manage 20 ongoing projects)

I love the fact that we can have hundreds of comments, emails and tasks flying around but they all end up in exactly the right place, making it easy to follow, and keep on top of, what we're doing.

Cons

What would be the icing on the cake for us would be the ability to email out to non-users and forward external emails as comments to tasks. We hit a brick wall when we're working on something with a client and he/she needs us to see an email received from an external party.

Better control of to-do lists and project priorities.

Pros

Good balance of feature-completeness and usability. Roles and permissions for users, so I can expose a dashboard to a client without having them see work that's not theirs. Optional timesheet.
Jump straight to tasks on a project, or see an overview of everything.
Task dependencies, to manage items that have to be done in order.
Task lists to segregate different efforts into streams.
