The software is very easy to use for all of my employees. It's straightforward and gives us useful information to better run our stores. The report options are endless. The best thing about the company is the support. We're now on a first name basis with all of their support techs and all have been incredibly patient. This has been a good experience.
I honestly have nothing negative to say about Prophet. As a word of caution, do the prep work thoroughly to save countless hours on the back side. That was our fault, not theirs.
Definitely sit through the live demos. It made an impression on us when the demo and salesman could actually answer every question we had; there was none of the "I'll check with my boss and get back to you" stuff.

I recently had a problem with credit card processing and I didn't know if it was the internet provider, the POS software or the credit card company. POS Prophet was the first that I called, and they went to work to help solve the problem. They were the first one that we ruled out as the problem, but they stayed with us throughout the entire ordeal. I highly recommend them and would be willing to talk to anyone personally that had any questions about them.
The only thing I can think of is the hours of tech support. However, the one time I had an off hours call, their person on call got back to me in a timely manner.
I went with them initially based on reviews and recommendations like this, but also because of the pay as you go vs. the large expense up front to purchase licensing.

TaylorMade Golf Experience has been in business since 1997 under a different name. We are a par 3, 9-hole, executive course located on the Las Vegas Strip that provides a 110-stall, two-tiered driving range on synthetic mats and a 20-stall grass range, a retail store and restaurant/bar.
We have struggled for years to find a good POS system with a golf emphasis that provides an accurate tee sheet and works for the volume of a public course. We use ball machines with the E-Range technology; therefore, we were limited on the software systems we could choose from. Most of the systems that we could choose from were either way too cumbersome and for big facilities, or there were really small and for the "mom and pop" facilities.
We had been using another system since the mid-2000s, and their technology was old, which is why we decided to make a change. We came across POS Prophet and decided to check it out in 2012. However, we had to update some of our in-house servers/hardware before we would be ready to make the move to any new system. Once completing that update, we decided to move forward with POS Prophet.
The implementation process was really painless. Our implementation team was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with, and it was a breeze to get the system ready to go live. We spent about two months in setup and training prior to go live. And the rest has been history. If we ever have a question, we can call the customer service center in order to get help or have someone jump on our computer to fix something. Our staff really likes the ease in which the system functions for tee times, check-ins, and even the random odd purchase. We are now looking at expanding the system into our three golf retail stores.

Customer Support for our system has been outstanding. The very few times we have had an issue (mostly due to our own issues), we have been answered and are back up and running in minutes. The system is extremely easy to use and can be quickly mastered by any employee. This is by far the best system we have had in our business, in the 15 years we have been open.

We have a candy business that is located in different shopping malls. We have special POS needs because our system includes a scale to weigh the candy. POS has done such a wonderful job helping us get the scale to connect with the system, and make sure everything is running properly. It did take a while to get the reports exactly how we wanted them, but Jason kept working on them to make sure we were satisfied. Every time I call to make a change or update a coupon etc., one of the service technicians helps me immediately. They are cheerful and efficient. The system works perfectly for our needs and we have not had any problems. Our staff was able to learn the system quickly, but if one of my employees doesn't understand something, he/she can click on the "help" button and someone from POS will connect with our computer to help them remotely. I can't say enough about POS Prophet Systems and their staff.

We switched to POS Prophet at the beginning of our season - Spring 2012 - as we are a tourist business. We should have made the switch sooner since we were not really ready to go when our business went into full swing. Therefore, we didn't have enough training and fumbled for awhile. However, we got some good support and eventually worked through most of the issues.
By the end of the season, we were very happy with the system and what it could do for us. We have not used it to anywhere near full capacity but we really like our terminals, the capabilities and the support. The system is very "smart" and continues to amaze us what it can do.
Our problems have come in the form of credit card transactions being processed differently than what the receipts say. We have not been able to figure out if it is a merchant services problem, a POS problem, or some of both. We have had some chargebacks, some fees, and have spent alot of time on 5 transactions in which we both lost some money and our customers lost some money. We are NOT happy with our merchant services company and will definitely make a change in 2013. However, I would like to discuss a few specific situations that the POS accepted and printed sales and receipts and they were processed differently.
Despite the above, we love our POS Prophet systems and the support we get. We hope to study the available options, reports, etc to use it to a greater extent.

We are a boutique bakery located in Pittsburgh, Pennsyvania and we are currently using the POSExpress Version 3.0. We have been using this system for the last year and a half and would highly recommend it to other retail businesses. The implementation was quick and efficient and the team from POS Prophet were able to teach our staff everything they needed to know during one training session. The fantastic thing is that any time we have a question or issue that we cannot trouble shoot, the support team is there to lend a hand. You simply call the 1800 number and they assist you over the phone and on the POS system itself. Being in retail, we have a high turnover of retail staff and every new employee states the POS system was the easiest part of the job to master. The system itself is quick and effortless to use which is such a relief when you have a line forming in the store and customers who want to move on with their day. We have so many items that we sell and I cannot tell you how often we use the system to look up pricing on the spot for the customer. We have been able to set up a VIP Customer program where we can track sales to particular clients and reward them accordingly. The sales reports help us track what is selling and what is not selling and we are able to quickly make changes to maximize our future sales. We can also research seasonal and Holiday trends which helps us to prepare for that particular season or Holiday the next year. We are even currently building our retail shopping website under POS Prophet Sytems and again the support staff has gone above and beyond to help our staff create this shopping website.

We have been working with POS Prophet Systems for about a year. It is very user friendly and if you do need help they have a great team of techs to help you along the way. We used to use QuickBooks but needed to upgrade to a system that had real time data. POS Prophet Systems had just what we needed and more. They are a good team of people that sell a good product!
Sometimes there will be glitches and such but every operating system is different for what you need. I highly recommend using the exact systems that they require you to use or you will have issues with the glitches more than you would if you use the recommended systems. Some of the reports are nice and clear. I am not sure what a lot of them are for, but if I wanted to know how to use them all I need to do is contact POS Prophet Systems and set up time for training. It’s all that simple.

I have used POS Prophet for about six months now in my small gift and greenhouse store. It is intuitive, easy to train and I love all the reports you can run to see vendors, best selling products, margins, customer database, and so much more. The only reason I can't give it all 5 stars is that I do wish there was a product manual. However, I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the customer service support team. I manage IT for a few small companies, and for us, POS Prophet Systems is much more than just a Point-of-Sale software provider. We were using an outdated system before I found POS Prophet Systems. We use an admission process for an entertainment center. Single admissions and yearly memberships were a problem on the old system, but Prophet Systems worked with us to tailor fit our program. Usually I can find the options I need to change easily enough, but when I cannot figure something out I call the customer support line and get an answer almost immediately. We are a Golf Practice Facility with a full line Pro Shop. The system has been very easy for us to use and given us the ability to track our numbers much better than before. When your accounting department is happy with the range of different numbers you can generate reports on, you know things are going pretty well.

We were new to POS systems but were advised by others in the industry to make sure and get a system that was Windows-based. After attending a trade show and meeting various POS reps, we decided to go with POS Prophet Systems. Just about the time we had all the inventory in and 2 days before our grand opening, our main computer crashed with an Internet virus. The staff at POS Prophet Systems had everything backed up online and downloaded everything without a hitch onto another computer. Their service and staff were priceless throughout.

POS Prophet Systems works well for a retail store. Training employees is extremely simple and dependability has been good. I like the integration with both credit card approval and the website.
Shortcomings exist in the method of viewing and adjusting the time clock as well as flexibility in reporting.
At this time the website does not work for me as it should. The support department has been very responsive and I feel confident that solutions will come.

Mr. Bill's Pipe and Tobacco Company has been in business in Las Vegas since 1980. While we cannot avoid having imitators, Mr. Bill's does not intend to have equals! We have used a couple of Point of Sale systems over the past 20 years. The software we were using before POS Prophet Systems (CREE) was all right on the front end but the inventory and reporting functions were horrible. We wanted a system that did not involve a large investment up front, one with good inventory control and an easy learning curve. After searching for almost 8 months and viewing 5 - 6 demos, and after many friendly follow-up calls by our POS Prophet Systems salesman, Bill Hickey, I finally found time to view the demo. WOW!! I was really impressed. We went ahead and signed the deal. The training that was provided was excellent and if we had a question, Bill responded immediately. Sean, one of the principals, got involved in our implementation to make sure it went smoothly.
The reporting is phenomenal, the inventory control easy to use, and the POS retail side was a snap to implement. POS Prophet Systems even converted all of our inventory data - all the other systems I looked at involved entering manually all of our more than 10,000 inventory items. The Technical Support Team is tremendous - if you have an issue, they log onto your system and fix it or tell you how to solve the problem. We have asked for a couple of reports specific to our industry, and they have come through.
We now have real-time Sales Information and the staff can see, instantly, what inventory the other stores have, thus providing even better service to our customers. We can search the inventory data base via code numbers, names, even part of the code or name. The end of day reporting is simple and easy to use.
All in all, I highly recommend the excellent team at POS Prophet Systems and Bill Hickey!!!
