Asset Panda software


Asset Panda is a cloud-based platform for facility managers that offers a suite of applications including asset tracking and maintenance management. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, iPad, iPhone and can be used from anywhere while updating data in real-time.

Asset Panda helps users assign contacts by location and track depreciation. The User can use a barcode scanner to look up asset details and automate pick lists. Role-based security ensures that employees are granted the appropriate level of access, so they always see the information relevant to what they are working on. Asset Panda offers customized exporting and reporting features. Reports can be automated via email, with the ability to add custom calculation fields (and designate if each field should be required) before sending.

Asset Panda helps users in auditing, facilities management, equipment support ticketing, compliance and purchase order management. Other features include asset photo tagging, replication configuration and Gantt charts. Support is available via chat, email and phone. Pricing is either per asset or per user.

    We are able to list all of our Assets (mostly computers) and their users along with a list of software. It is very easy to replace computers now as it would have been a time consuming process getting all the information we need.

    Pros

    Configuring each group for how our organization handles assets is essential and AP delivers!

    Cons

    We are unable to modify the user accounts, so phone is a required field where it doesn't really need to be for us. This is a minor problem and does not impact the use of the system, however, it is a little annoying that I cannot modify which fields are required for AP user access.

    AssetPanda is a home run! It is exactly what our medium sized business needs to fully integrate from "small business mentality." It is a daunting task to move from the lack or organization that starting a small business takes toll on. As you move forward in your organization the need to leave behind those small business mentalities is crucial. Asset Management was one of those tasks we had yet to tackle and I'm so glad to have found AP to assist us with this endeavor. The team is incredible and will help you with the on-boarding process and make it a streamline process.

    Before asset panda we didn't really know how many assets we had or where they were now we have a better idea of where our assets are at.

    Pros

    The software is pretty easy to use, I like how you can personalize every thing in asset panda.

    what I like least about the software is that not having instruction on how to do certain things like pulling out a report.

    This has resolved all of my IT tracking and audit needs while also giving our company additional options around asset management.

    Pros

    Intuitive cloud based software while still allowing many configuration options and rich reporting capabilities

    Cons

    There are no capabilities to preform automatic geolocation logging however I realize this is not an easy or inexpensive feature.

    Could be a little easier for an admin to configure on their own. I wouldn't be able to make complex changes on my own to function properly. The sales team couldn't answer all of my questions and I had to wait to work with the support, to make implementation changes who was awesome and very knowledgeable.

    We can now track small and large tools for stocking, repairs, costs and replacements. A lot of benefits for our company. We have had a few other companies wanting us to try theirs programs but I have to say that AP does all we need it to do for us. The cost is very reasonable and the tech support we get is awesome. All my questions and concerns have been immediately addressed.

    Pros

    All you can do with it. It has so many features that fit what we need. Reports notifications, etc. It is user friendly. So many ways to track inventory and to keep me updated.

    Cons

    The only issue I have come across and maybe not an issue is that when I go to group reports and I click on one I don't get the report immediately. I will get an email and then I have to Click on CLICK and then I will get my report but usually not until the next day. Maybe it is me not doing something correctly.

    i think asset panda has helped the company out a lot with tracking equipment and vehicles plus maintenance on everything and being able to log it in the system the improvements made since we started using asset panda have helped us out really well and we look forward to continue service with them.

    i would say when called for tech support how we knew more about what the system can be used for then the techs it was a little disappointing to have them not understand how we were able to make it work for us the way we do .

    Asset Panda is extremely flexible, highly configurable, and easy to use. It is a great product for managing a wide assortment of products from fixed assets to consumables. One of Asset Panda's best features is its ability to record, manage, and maintain required specific information on specialty items. For example, annual testing information for fire hoses and maintenance, inspection, use, and repair information for different pieces of personal protective equipment such as turnouts, masks, SCBAs, etc.

    Cons

    Asset Panda should strengthen the ease managing consumable on its application. As a agency that is in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week, we go through major quantities of consumables and handling those transactions (more like a point of sale (POS) system) would be a plus.

    Overall, we are satisfied with Asset Panda's capabilities. We use the product for both our domestic and international sites without a hitch. The mobile app has been a tremendous feature for staff conducting inventory in the field.

    Pros

    Asset Panda is a great user friendly tool. Once you learn the basics of the system, it's fairly easy to create the desired platform needed for your company. We have end users performing actions in Asset Panda daily, and once trained, they are no problems maneuvering around the database.

    Cons

    The only issue we've had with Asset Panda is the speed. We have a large volume of assets and several end users, which has bogged down the system somewhat.

    Very good. We use AP primarily for daily/weekly maintenance checklists. Customer service has always been very responsive.

    Pros

    Everything is modular and customizable. Creating new reports or checklists is easy.

    Cons

    There's no testing lab; changes are live. When making a new, unfamiliar change, everything is trial and error.

    We are a VFX house and use Asset Panda to keep track of our on set camera gear and which office has what. Overall AP has been a lifesaver for us and works great now that we have worked out the kinks. Again, customer service has been fantastic.

    Pros

    Customer support is amazing and incredibly helpful for customizing our specific setup and helping to modify as we came up with new ideas for use.

    Cons

    At first, can be a little confusing to use and during initial setup, had some conflicts that caused issues with the database (which were fixed as we further customized).

    It has full auditing mode.It is supported on most mobile devices.It is customizable,and allows for more powerful asset tracking and managing to fit each customer

    It only works when onlinecand doesnt have an offline mode.You cant make a correction after an upload.Difficult to set up assets and actions that work on assets.Its difficult to navigate some web pages.

    Inventory check and responsibly on other users.

    Pros

    I love the auto notifications to users. It helps with keeping our inventory in rotation by letting our users know its time to return the item or if the item is late.

    Cons

    It can get a little overwhelming with everything that is included. For example the barcode generator, trying to customize the barcode to a smaller size seems impossible.

    Pros

    What I've enjoyed the most about Asset Panda has been the experience of working with a system that didn't have nearly the capabilities that it did on launch that it does today. The asset panda team has been amazing in their willingness to continue to improve the system based on our needs. While we didn't have graphs and charts to show our equipment inventory at the beginning of our usage of Panda, due to requests, they've added it in. Any time I've had anything go wrong, they've been able to resolve the issue within a weeks' time, usually less.

    Cons

    As with any new company, there have been some growing pains. New features and features that probably should have existed before launch took a bit of time to get in. Some camera issues and inability to handle temporary wifi outages make updating in remote areas a bit complicated.

    There is a lot to like about Asset Panda, it is a nice accessible layout, easy to make changes and add/check out devices. The mobile app makes it much easier to sign out equipment and keep track of items when out of the office.
    Out company has a lot of remote sites that move around regularly, so it is a great benefit to be able to remotely audit items when we are visiting sites.

    Cons

    The only issue we currently have is that the mobile app on our android phones is a bit unstable, (Google pixel 2).
    It is not a major issue as we have never lost any information, we just occasionally need to log back in as it will crash when uploading an image.
    However this has been passed onto the support team who are brilliant, so I am sure it will be looked into and resolved soon.

    Asset panda has helped us to see and manage the big picture of all our fixed assets in the company. It gave us a powerful report of what we have, what needs repair/replacement, what is lacking... etc. The barcode feature via the use of the mobile app makes life easy for the auditors, and the report and dashboard is intuitive and friendly enough even for the management team.

    Pros

    We moved from an internally (Intranet) developed Asset management tool to this full-featured, Cloud-based solution. And we love every bit of it! Easy cataloging of all our company assets with a user-friendly software that any of our staff can access.

    First, the use of the cloud makes it accessible from anywhere and anytime. We hardly noticed any downtimes that affected our operations. Accessible also via our mobile devices, we can easily create barcodes, and scan it for easy tracking and update of records.

    I am rarely impressed with the customer support, but hats off to Asset Panda team. Their training and on-call support has been fast, efficient, and polite.

    The reporting tool is powerful. It can churn out all our records into a well formatted and context relevant reporting format.

    Cons

    Mobile app works when connected to the cloud, but it does not offer offline mode (with sync function for a later time). This would have been nice for areas where we had to scan assets on the basement or in the field where we didn't have connectivity.

    Easy to use. The web client has a clean appearance. The ability to create reports and customized actions is great.

    Cons

    Images in attachments do not have a button to easily be re-downloaded.

    Document names cannot be renamed after being uploaded.

    Very difficult to set up assets and actions that work on assets which are part of "kits" i.e multiple assets are contained/carried in one case or box. More documentation should be provided on how this is implemented, if at all.

    When giving view-only rights to a field, the field appears grey and the text is grey, it's very hard to read due to the lack of contrast.

    It would be good if actions could be automated to update fields. i.e. Check if 'next service due date' has already past and then update status field to: "requires servicing". Then assets can be filtered so they cannot be "checked out" if the status field is "requires servicing".

    Also, reports come through as a link back to asset panda. I would prefer if the report is also provided in the email body or having the pdf document attached.
