Insightly is a customer relationship management (CRM) solution that provides businesses with a way to manage projects and track contacts, communications, sales, projects, tasks and documents in a single platform. It is available via the web and on mobile devices.

Designed to integrate with many popular applications, Insightly connects users to online applications such as Google Calendar, Gmail and Docs, Outlook 2013, MailChimp, Evernote, Box, Dropbox, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and more. Mobile apps offer users access to information from anywhere and support the iPhone, Android and tablets such as the iPad and Google Nexus.

Insightly’s dashboard provides real-time information via a task dashboard and opportunity reports. Insightly's Advanced Reports allow the creation of custom, tabular reports. Opportunity reports offer details such as the responsible user, pipeline and pipeline stage, close date, probability of winning and value.

Insightly also offers integrated project management functionality. Once a deal is closed, users can track and manage follow-up project commitments directly from within the CRM. The Insighly Sidebar also saves emails directly from Gmail, giving users access to the history of their conversations and allowing them to link all correspondence to projects and events.

For 'solopreneurs', start ups and very small businesses, it would be useful. However, when you start to grow you will find that it is very limited and the low cost plans will not be useful anymore.

Pros

It is very easy to use and has the basic necessary functionality to run a business. It has a plethora of integrations including with IFTTT, Zapier, and Automate.io which was a major selling point.

Cons

Plans are very expensive and go from free to monthly. It is monthly subscription to get automation features. There is a limited amount of emails with each plan.

The amount of functionalities that it offers is a little intimidating as in, we have are facing a little bit of FOMO (fear of missing out) due to it. Heavily made software, helps great for leading the project within our team. A few training videos can get you guys long way. Blast the YouTube with your channel and the money making doubles overnight.

Cons

More customizing option is the something i want to count on. It just looks a little old than it should. Make it a little more visually appealing and i am sold. We have a very diverse team and cant cater to everyone's wishes, but non-technical people, need to look at it and are on the selection team as well.

When you first logging and being using the program there are a lot of mini training helpful hints that help you learn to navigate through the program. Its easy to learn to use.

Cons

I don't see anything negative about this system, they offer different pricing platforms, and so many features that you can easily create the workspace you need for your business.

Cost of this CRM is one of my the best features. This is an easy to use CRM for small to midsized businesses. If you want to utilize the free version, you may be able to get everything you need with that alone. I also appreciate that they offer a free trial which makes signing up and figuring out if they will work for you, a breeze!

Cons

If you are looking for a CRM for a larger company. I would say this isn't the best route to go, they need more functionality for those size of companies.

Started with a trial and then purchased insightly for tracking my consulting customers. The tool is very very intuitive and works great for consultants and people maintaining a large database of customers through various stages of the sales lifecycle. The app is great and the support was wonderful.

Cons

The challenge for me was the price of the product once you start scaling it. A small team is very effective, but it gets difficult once your team starts to grow.

Someone made a comment that they wished they had put the program through more strenuous testing before purchase. I do too. I had the same issue, the lack of automatic linking makes this product worthless. I have to spend way too much time making sure everything is linked properly. Which defeats the purpose of having the software make you more efficient. I really wish I had not purchased this product.

1. Good interface, though I suppose that goes along with great marketing.
2. Support is good and they are responsive.

Cons

1. Lack of automatic linking.
2. When sending emails through insightly, attachments get dropped very frequently.
3. Using the insightly link in Outlook - very slow.

Having the CRM & Transaction management together is wonderful!

CRM & transaction management in one program, integrates well with gmail, ability to customize, email task reminders, mobile app

Cons

Since the new upgrades were released, they have nested information together rather than having a separate button for notes, tasks, files etc. It's cumbersome to get to Notes & they are automatically sorted oldest first so I'm always having to resort them to get to the most recent. Tasks are jumbles in with emails instead of having each separate. Frustrating!

Pros

I like Insightly's ease of use, its UI, and the fact that it is fairly flexible for building it out for different use cases. That's very important with CRMs; the degree to which you can customize it without paying a lot extra. I think insightly is aimed at smaller operations, and it does help you to be able to organize and manage your customers much better than not having a CRM at all. I'm able to track the relationship history and communication with each of my customers in one place.

Cons

The functionality is a little limited if you start wanting to do more advanced things, so if you start really growing or you plan to grow fast, you may want to give more thought to your selection. I find myself going through a lot (what I feel) are unnecessary menus and screens; too many clicks to get to the information I need. In that way informational organization and navigation feels a bit clunky.

There are many, many things that Insightly does, which can also be a negative, since there are some features that are a little obsure and hard to use. Once you get used to it, and if you watch the tutorials, then the CRM becomes a fully integrated part of the sales process.

Cons

It is a little hard to get used to the software, since there's so much that you can do with it. I'm sure I'm underutilizing it, but I don't have the time to fully invest in the platform to learn all of its features.

We use Insightly to manage our customers, contacts, and licensees. This allows us to easily access information and communication. We can all find what was transferred and recorded for any contact. The mobile app allows us to quickly look up contact information and history while on the road, as well as add or edit notes. If you want a great way to keep track of things and connect with customers, then this is for you.

Cons

I do not like that I can not delete several tasks at the same time. Now, I have to remove each one at a time, and it takes a long time. I believe that this fix will improve performance.

We finally have a CRM that fits our budget, is easy to use, integrates with our other company software, and has all the features we need.

Pros

I love the simplicity of the user interface, user experience, administrator experience, and company setup. I can't say enough how easy it is to use Insightly and how powerful its features are. It is very easy to integrate with other software such as Xero and Mailchimp. Don't let the ease of use fool you, there is a ton of functionality under the hood.

Cons

I wish I could customize the user interface more than just putting in a company logo. Being able to select the main color instead of orange is the feature I want the most. Considering I have very little criticism about this product should speak to it's quality.

Ease of Marketing and Sales process. Total contact management software that include picture of person. What a plus. Great training videos to guide all level of users. Wonderful opportunity to scale the software as the company grows from startup to height unknown. Pricing is fair and Insightly is not living on past accomplishments it is improving product continuously.

Pros

They offer a free version to evaluate. Since it is without a time limit I used it and gradually became totally dependent on it. During a planning meeting with staff it was determined we could increase our efficiency by adding the professional version that includes email marketing tools and an easy interface with MailChimp. Now they have my paid business. It is with confidence that I agree to pay them for a monthly service that will be used by all members of my company. The program can accommodate the growth curve in a company such as mine. We started out simply needing contact management software. Later as our sales and marketing needs became more our focus adding these features was an easy decision. There are many videos to quickly bring a new user up to speed. The experienced user can use the videos to explore the many functions that may yet be used by a company as needs and goals change. The reporting function has recently become important as we need to know the results of our marketing and sales efforts. The tool is there and ready for us to implement. I think the more our company commits to using Insightly the more our communication between owners and employees improves. We openly share information on Insightly and our feedback has been positive. In the past before Insightly, communication was dispersed informally and sometimes led to bad feelings due to the inefficiency of word of mouth. Insightly is constantly making changes and updates to its software.

Cons

Its not visually pretty. I know that is silly but staff has to look at it all day and they like pretty.
When a new user/employee first looks at program they make the mistake of thinking it is an old program. While I am able to bring them along and show them it isn't true, their first impression is a temporary detriment to their learning curve and acceptance of the program. In order for Insightly to be the awesome tool it is, requires employee and leader acceptance. Everyone on the team has input and others depend on that input to do their job. Sloppy work seems to come from lack of acceptance. Part of this is my responsibility as a leader to insist everyone use the tools as intended but again, if the program had a new interface and pretty colors it might make a difference. Personally I always choose function first and then presentation but input from staff is a factor I have to consider. One other area I would mention is the difference between leads and contacts. They are not intuitive to some people and I think a better explanation and reinforcement in training videos would make it easier for the new user. This confusion has lead to some mistakes by my users that require a bit of corrective action by more experienced users. There is very little for me to find wrong with Insightly that isn't based on personal style and preferences.

I used this software for a few months, and I would recommend it to a friend. In fact, I did recommend it to a family member. This project management software is easy to use, and you can put A LOT of information in. I mean, you can have multiple projects, multiple facets within those projects, and then details and updates about what is going on everyday! It's really great if you're trying to hold yourself accountable and get reminders of things you need to do all along the way. If you need to remember a lot of small things every day, this is the answer for you.

Cons

If I'm remembering correctly, it's quite expensive. Unless you're working in sales.... or if Google Calendars won't be sufficient for you, I wouldn't recommend this software. It can almost be more work just updating this than it is a time saver.

But there is also a thing, that not every CRM system can boast of, and this is a mobile application. Because a lot of CRM programs are cloud-type they usually just allow you to use their system on your mobile phone through the browser, and that is why sometimes it can be some lags, errors and stuff like this. Insightly has their own mobile application which makes your working on the smartphone much easier.

Cons

The abilities of event managers exist in this software. Honestly, it was suddenly but pleased for me at once, because this is the sphere of our company. However, the way of assigning tasks to the people realizes the quite hard way and definitely must be simplified.

Insightly is easy to use and get going. I liked the flexibility of sales, relationships, and projects, and they've done a great job updating and focusing on various industries. I also like how it would integrate pictures and some aspects of LinkedIn.

Cons

I tried insightly for a few months but had some issues. The first was manual input of data - I had to do this a lot, and caused many issues when I noticed later a few errors and duplicates. It's also very focused on sales, but we weren't looking for a sales tool but to manage many complicated relationships. I didn't find the features I needed to manage many pipelines and have multiple contacts/companies on a deal. I'll admit this was over a year ago, so they may have improved this.

Helps to have client information organized

Pros

It has a free version, it works well with gmail and has a similar interface. It also pulls profiles of your contacts from social networks (if they have any).

Cons

It has basic project management features which we don't like and don;t use, so it seems that we need to overpay. They also have increased the price for minimum paid plan.

Insightly was the first CRM we used for a really long time. It's complete and integrates well with third party apps.

Cons

Since we started using Insightly 3 years ago nothing has changed. The interface is already outdated and their plans for the future is not very clear. This is worrying so we switched to a more modern app that has exactly the same features.

You get access to quite a lot of features even with the free version so it doesn't feel like the free version is just a stripped out trial version.

Cons

A few of the integrations offered like G Suite and MailChimp don't seem to work the way I would expect them too although I admit that may be more of a user issue.

Insightly offers a robust CRM in their free and premium versions... maybe a little too much in the free version, though you get to choose which parts of the CRM you will use most, like Contacts, Leads, Email, Tasks, Opportunities, Organizations, and Project, just to name a few. The free trial sets you up with a premium version so you can see what you will get, but for single users and very small teams, the basics are probably only needed for contact/lead follow up details.

Cons

Currently, Insightly is a wee bit costly for individuals on a budget. But the free version should suffice until the premium version is needed.

The software interface is nice and it's easy to navigate. It's also highly customizable, so you can customize it to your company's particular needs. Cheaper solution than other platforms out there.

Cons

I find that the reporting is slightly limited and difficult to gather the info. Slow to load every once in awhile but that could be my wifi connection.
