Dentrix Enterprise Software

Dentrix Enterprise by Henry Schein is a fully integrated solution for dental care. It is suitable for organizations like large dental groups, DSOs, multi-location practices, community health centers, hospitals, correctional facilities and government organizations. On-premise and cloud-based deployments are available.

Dentrix Enterprise provides tools for scheduling, appointment booking, e-prescribing and monitoring continuing care, as well as various chart types. Users can enter clinical notes and enable pop-up alerts that appear when a patient’s chart is accessed. Treatment planning tools track patient benefits to help set appointment schedules.

Users can also manage billing and accounting, insurance processing and revenue. Reports can be run to track payments, Medicaid reimbursement, payer utilization and more. Permission controls allow users to restrict access for individuals or groups. Dentrix Enterprise can be integrated with software such as Allscripts, eClinicalWorks, Epic and SuccessEHS.

Support is provided via live chat, email and over the phone. Pricing models vary depending on customer needs.

Good option, but needs work

Pros

Dentrix Enterprise was a step up from the previous version and allows for a little more variation of tasks.

Cons

It's pretty straightforward, but is very tedious when needing to make changes or run reports. It seems like there are a thousand steps to every task.

This is an expensive way to manage multiple dental practices under one database

Pros

This software does bring your multiple locations together and uses a single database. In the past, speed was a big issue but now it is a bit better.

Cons

Dentrix is slower than many of the alternatives, and they don't tell you that your imaging program will have trouble over a VPN unless both sites have very fast internet. Having a multiple location practice is difficult due to bandwidth problems on imaging. You might need to have separate imaging databases for each location. If you do that, then Dentrix Enterprise does what it says, although there are other options out there.

Great variety of tools available, but lacking in comprehensive training and modern design.

Pros

It's potentially well organized. Many neat features once you figure out how to use them. Color coding available.

Cons

Took a long time to get the hang of, and the icons seemed outdated and hard to identify. The training videos were only minimally helpful and also seemed very outdated.

Easy to use

Pros

Dentrix is easy to use and the customer service is great. Very responsive. We use it for billing and will eventually connect it to Athena.

Cons

The patient portal needs to be addressed. It is extremely limited and unusable. With this being a requirement of ACI, submitting for dental incentives is very hard.

Dental office review

Pros

The ability to have multiple columns for multiple providers in fast paced dental office. We have over 50 users in our program and the ease of moving from one thing to the next is seamless. We are able to upload documents, create treatment plans, leave notes etc for clear communication for all parties.

Cons

It can be difficult to teach new hires as I feel like there a multiple steps to enter a new patient, find an appointment time etc. You are also not able to track what user schedules or moves an appointment.

Competent system for multi-office use pricing is very steep

Stable system that could use generalized updating. Template customization and medical history field expansions are needed.

Pros

Software allows medical history prompt updates that are inserted to the note. Allowances for BP, Pulse and demographics.

Cons

Cost
Support
AR reporting customization are costly. Graphics are rather weak.
Requiring offices to pay for the support teams and AR reports that are not intuitive is not comprehensible.

You can manage appointments across multiple dentists, it just takes some time to learn.

Pros

- Once you learn it, it's pretty easy to read the schedule.
- You're able to add the pricing to the services and list the treatment plan.
- You can add in when you've received a payment from a patient.

Cons

- When you try to reschedule someone, it shows a tiny little box on the right that you have to hover over it just to see which appointment it is. When you have many patients needing to reschedule, it takes time to see which patient is which.
- I wouldn't leave any very important information there, like social security numbers

Great Product

Great investment.

Pros

Tons of features and functionality. The software is easy to use and intuitive. Even if you don't know where something is you can pretty much deduce where to find it will be there. The costumer service is amazing, and they will always be there for you in case you don't know something. They will guide step by step until you get there.

Cons

There are somethings that can be improved upon, but that's icing on the cake. They even though about that too. You can voice your opinion an tell the developing team what you would like to see in future version and they will add it for you. I think they call it dentrix my voice or something like that...

Dentists and Dental Hygienists Love the software

Dentrix is a great dental software.

Pros

The visual aspects of Dentrix make this a product that provides ease of use. The charting is clear and easy to use. The notes are easy to build for the Dentists and make any amendments.

Cons

The cost of electronic prescribing is high as it is per provider for the feature. Meaningful use is another add on cost rather than being available in Enterprise as a feature.

Dentrix enterprise is good for a practice with multiple locations

Pros

I like that this is made for multiple practices. We travel to 5 offices during the week and with one log in I can view my schedule from each location.

Cons

The only downfall with dentrix enterprise is when you use it with a practice with multiple locations you loose other features like going chartless

Software at new job

Pros

The customer service isn't bad when you have questions on how to fix something or to learn about something you don't fully understand.

Cons

Patient Communication system is not my favorite. There are not enough options for Mass Emails to patients.
I don't like the analytic reports from Detrix. I enjoyed EagleSoft much better from an Analytical point of view.

Dentrix G6

A good product overall!

Pros

Ideal software for a paperless Dental Practice. It has a place for almost everything and is compatible with other applications.

Cons

Still has a few quirks that need to be addressed. Too much clicking of mouse. I wish it would respond to key strokes as well so that I don't always have to use mouse.

Not really user friendly

Pros

Perhaps if the company purchased all of the programs the software would be more functional in my opinion.

Cons

Not user friendly unless you had all the programs and the proper training . It can be frustrating to use initially.
