Patterson Dental’s Eaglesoft software is a Meaningful Use and ONC-ATCB certified on-premise dental office practice management system. Well suited for practices of all sizes, it includes a clinical chart, patient scheduling and billing/accounting applications, as well as periodontal templates.

Eaglesoft’s patient scheduling application gives users the ability to block off different segments of time, from five to 60 minutes, depending on the necessary length of the appointment. Double booked appointments are displayed side-by-side so they can be identified before a problem arises.

The treatment planning module lets users present treatment plans to patients and collect consent forms with a digital signature feature. It also provides financial information so patients can make an informed decision based on insurance coverage estimates.

This software also includes a document manager, SmartDoc, which enables users to store and manage documents that have been imported from paper charting systems.

Useful but not great

Pros

Patient charts and notes are easy to use and it has frequent updates

Cons

They do not have electronic signatures in the notes for the doctors to sign the charts

Pros

This is a great program that we use in the dental field. It is very user friendly. If you arent sure where things are they are many different ways to find it. If we have temps in our office or new employees it is easy for them to easily catch on to our system

Cons

The account history can be difficult to read through. Im sure there are easier ways to do it but I havent figure it out yet (I work in the back so I do not have to look at pt accounts often)

ONce you pay for it all support is gone. Even when you pay for it. NO help setting up the program unless you pay an arm and leg

I would not recommend this product for a one doctor office.

Pros

Making appointments. Templates can be made in the treatment side of the program to make writing your notes faster and easier

Cons

Unable to send referrals. Too many capabilities in this program that you will never use makes it cumbersome to work your way around the program. Intraoral camera photos are horrible even using the Patterson camera. No way to customize the program to fit your needs. Very difficult to compare x-rays side by side

My experience working with EagleSoft was very pleasant, we could even send text messages to each other in the clinic.

Pros

Eagle Soft was easy to use with charting the patients treatment, also the scheduling was easy and it had different color settings for appointments and for treatment.

Cons

I did not experience any problem with the software it exceeded the other software I had worked with before.

We have used eaglesoft for over 10 years now.

I would really like the reports to be more accurate.

Pros

Ease of charting and documentation. The photo attachments are nice. Sensor integration has been easy.

Cons

The reports aren’t NOT consistent. The numbers don’t make sense most of the time. Month at a glance numbers are worthless.

An "ok" dental software....

We operate fairly well with the program, but none of us are really fans of it.

Pros

the customer service is very good with patterson. The live chat feature is extremely helpful, and much quicker than trying to call an 800 number and being on hold forever. There is also a "topic search" so you can try to find your own way through a specific area. I also like that there are videos on youtube to assist with training.

Cons

this program is NOT user friendly. all features are cumbersome and require many clicks and steps.

Eaglesoft is a fine practice management software.

Nothing.

Pros

It has good customer support, as long as you are paying for it. If not, I am not sure how well you would function. They do updates almost yearly.

Cons

The update process can be onerous and time consuming. It can take hours to update an office. Also, the chart graphics are just ordinary. Nothing to get excited about.

Your perfect partner!

Despite im a new user of patterson i find it very easy to use and efficient. Extremely satisfied!

Pros

Im a freelancer back office support for a dentist. Without this software the clinic wont survive, literally. In accounting, whenever i enter the payments it also computes the adjustments. It comes with a built in calculator if you want to double check the figures. Xrays images are clear when scanned. Consolidating xrays to fmx is convenient.

Cons

Calendar graphics looks old school.
In the perio charting feature, it lacks tools and options. It needs an upgrade when selecting multiple tooth, like if you need to mark multiple tooth to create a different command like bleeding etc.

Missing Eaglesoft

Pros

Eaglesoft has been one of my favorite dental software programs. I am now working with Dentrix and miss Eaglesoft at times. One of my favorite things about Eaglesoft is being able to add any patient to another patients as the insurance carrier. You don't have to have them as part of a family file. Which is nice in divorce situations.

I haven't used it in a little while and as of now I don't have any negative reviews for Eaglesoft.

My excellent experiences with Eaglesoft's service team have made me a loyal customer

Pros

I have tried, and used, many different dental practice management software systems, and I have concluded that Eaglesoft is by far the best system on the market. It is both easy to use, and user-friendly. The customer service, support, and live help features are outstanding - the staff are friendly, very knowledgeable, willing to work with you and very effective at solving problems. Updates are released regularly, and they often include great enhancements. Eaglesoft has a lot of features and capabilities; it is great to have them all in the same system and able to be easily integrated with other applications we use. Using Eaglesoft saves our practice a lot of time, money, and headaches.

Cons

There are definitely some enhancements that should be made; my office has put in quite a few enhancement requests recently. There are some issues with editing insurance company information and sending claims that need to be worked out a little better. I wish it had better capabilities in tracking financial and performance metrics, as well as making that data more accessible and in a friendlier format. I am also not impressed with the time clock, and have recently decided to use a time clock system that is included in the human resources management system we use. That is another improvement Eaglesoft could make - have more human resources capabilities, or perhaps have Patterson create a human resources application that integrates with Eaglesoft (like RevenueWell for patient management).

Efficient Dental Software that makes managing patients on a daily basis easy and trouble-free.

Pros

If there are any errors in processing a claim, the reports are that print help you determine what corrections need to be made. It is not unlikely for you to receive a call from support if they notice you have claims stuck in in-process. They pay attention to what changes you recommend.

Cons

We have had a few glitches with ghost appointments or accounts that are boggled down but I have had the same issue with the competitor software.

Pros

Very user-friendly and lots of video tutorials on the Patterson website. The opening screen is very easy to navigate and self-explanatory. I find that if you've ever used any other dental software you will find your way around the software. There's a lot of icons that are very helpful and can be used as shortcuts.

Cons

It could look a bit cluttered if you don't know what each thing is for. There's a lot of different many that can get confusing if you don't know what they're for. Also if you don't subscribe to any of their add-ins there's a lot of extra icons and options that are useless
