Employment Hero is a cloud-based human resource (HRM) management system available to businesses of all industries and sizes. The solution helps manage the entire employee lifecycle, with modules for recruiting, onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, performance review and more.

Employment Hero’s other features include a supporting law firm that keeps contacts and HR policies up to date and employee self-service functionality that allows workers to request leave, view payslips and timesheets and edit personal or banking information.

In regard to recruiting, Employment Hero allows users to create their careers page, post to the Employment Hero jobs board, create questionnaires for candidates and do things like background checks.

An onboarding checklist ensures that all workers are compliant and allows to automate the manual paper-based processes. From there, timesheets can be filled out by employees and approved by managers, payroll can be outsourced to Employment Hero for accuracy and reporting can help gain insight into an organization’s performance.

Group HR Manager

We feel EH is aligned with our Group core values and assists to develop a strong workplace culture. Its ease of access provides us the ability to communicate with all of our employees at anytime. It really makes Payroll and On-boarding easy.

Pros

We like the On-boarding experience EH provides new employees joining our group. The Employee Self Service enables them 24hr access that notifies manages and payroll of any request and/or changes.

Cons

We are the 4th largest privately owned Automotive Group in Australia and would like to see EH integrate with our DMS and this option isn't currently available.

Great, easy to use

Pros

Very intuitive and has almost everything in one.
Great platform that I have recommended to others.

Cons

Payroll and time and attendance as a seperate module (while good, adds cost). Would like to see a more involved LMS module as well.

EH HR keeps me organised

Since moving to EH we have improved our on-boarding process, and staff inductions are now more comprehensive and more efficient. The timesheets and Clock me In features allow employees to easily and quickly record their hours in just a couple of clicks, saving time for them, their manager and for payroll.

Pros

Employees are readily and easily accessing their files and up to date HR information directly.

Cons

Some features could be further improved, such as being able to maintain and update documents directly on EH.

It was easy to create contracts and upload new employees, seeing their profiles too was good.

Pros

Very easy to use and navigate. Could see all employees on the main dashboard. Very easy to upload documents.

Cons

The leave functionality- could not work out where to put in leave information so can check balances at any time.

Employment Hero has made general HR tasks a breeze. Sending contracts, policies and procedures etc is so quick and easy, the reporting and tracking saves a lot of time.

Cons

- would love to see some recruitment ad in's with ATS
- want to be able to send Letter of Offer's through the portal
If using it for multiple different companies and an employee moves companies i want to be able to import their file over completely

As a system , I am very happy. The HR platform allows me to keep my policies and procedures in one place, is transparent to all staff and I am comforted to know that it is legally complaint. The payroll system is fantastic. The pay slips are comprehensive, illuminating ambiguity and keeping staff satisfaction high. I have no problem recommending the system to any SME owner who has a desire to govern their business properly.

Pros

Stable platform, it works and is simple for staff to comply with

Cons

The platform represents a new paradigm of online HR processes. Understanding how the system works takes a lot of time and constant revision. Obviously people learn by different styles and methods, but I felt that having a person to talk through important issues like payroll and performance reviews is important. The strategy to have all phone calls a pay only service is myopic. It may be more profitable for EH but it undervalues to importance of the client.

Pros

Really easy to use software and online platform. Nice layout that is great to navigate through, and LOVE the deals they have for promotions with other companies.

Cons

They didn't have a time-in-lieu option for your days off as far as I can remember, so I had to ask for normal leave and add notes that it was time-in-lieu

Easy to use platform that employees enjoy interacting with - but don't expect customer service or support.

Good functions and an easy to use platform don't compensate for lack of support or customer service.

Pros

Has cut down on our paper trail. It's good having all the HR documents uploaded in one place that can be accessed by employees.

Cons

Little to no customer support. All correspondence must be by email which is slow and ineffective. EH changed to a 'pay-for-support' arrangement after our company had already signed up - so the appealing point of difference that made EH stand out is now gone. The platform is expensive and can only be paid for by direct debit - which would be okay if invoicing was accurate and correct. We are now looking at other platforms but it's a bit like deciding you want a different breed of puppy after you've house-trained the first one.

It just works. Employment Hero is simple to use and easy to implement.

Pros

Employment Hero appears to have taken the Apple approach of starting with the end user in mind and focusing on the customer experience rather than create the technology and people having to adjust to the technology. I like that I have made some suggestions for additional functionality regarding visibility of annual leave calendars over multiple departments which they had taken on board and rolled out in a software update. There was no additional cost to us and then all users get the advantage of the improvements. Like wise, when other users make suggestions that they take on board, we get access to the additional functionality. It is good that there is only one platform of Employment Hero that they need to support.

Cons

Very happy with the software. The timeliness of support was slower than expected initially, but I think this is due to growing pains and the rapid growth of Employment Hero.

Has potential!

Pros

The majority of things a HR manager needs is in Employment Hero making it easier to manage employees.

Cons

There are quite alot of errors and minor features that make is quite hard to use. In 1-2 years time Employment Hero will have a lot of potential.

Pros

Easy to use, staff can have app on their phone which is brilliant. Great technical support service upon implementation, prompt responses and very helpful.

Cons

Initial set up discussions and planning is very important to ensure business requirements are met. Unfortunately some were not met immediately but through the great technical support service and advice, all issues were resolved fairly quickly.

Employment Hero is simple and easy to use. There is always plenty of support if you need it

easy streamlined paperless onboarding process.

Pros

The webinars that show you how each feature works - acts as a step by step guide to using the system. Everything is automated - you can see where each employee is up to in the onboarding process and follow them up.

Cons

You can't tell if the employees have completed all the policies. It would be good if you could complete the report safety incidents on the mobile app.

Excellent product and service

Pros

It talks to Xero and it is very intuitive and easy to use. It not only has saved us hundreds of dollars in HR and time, it is helping us to organise our policies and other processes in one place.
The onboarding tools are also fantastic and totally automate the process while still giving us full control.
This really is a fantastic product, it is more than paying for itself and we are still only on the learning curve, probably using 30% of its potential.
Being cloud-based it also a big advantage for us and it allows the user to log-in regardless of where they are and what devise they use.

Love it, really easy to use.

Pros

There's no guess work. The menu options are clear and the interface is easy to use. I love the employee onboarding function, the seamless integration with our accounting software & the ability to store all our HR docs in each employee's file for easy access.

Cons

We like how everything flows and works together - it's a really well thought out system! From the sales team to the implementation team, everyone knows the product incredibly well. The webinars are excellent as is all the information available via You Tube.

This is a really easy to use program and does what it should.

Time savings, cost efficiency, easy to use.

Pros

The simplicity makes it easy to navigate. It is really cost effective and the customer service is good.
It save heaps of time compared to accounting program payroll modules and it integrates with the accounting software and banking software.

Cons

It would be good if you could add volunteers (unpaid people) without needing to go through all the fields that need to be populated for paid staff
