Employment Hero Software


 

Employment Hero is an Australian Web-based human resources (HR) system available to businesses of all industries and sizes worldwide. The system helps manage the entire employee lifecycle, with modules for recruiting, onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, performance review and more.

Employment Hero’s other features include a supporting law firm that keeps contacts and HR policies up to date and employee self-service functionality that allows workers to request leave, view payslips and timesheets and edit personal or banking information.

In regard to recruiting, Employment Hero allows users to create their careers page, post to the free Employment Hero jobs board, create questionnaires for candidates and do things like background checks.

An onboarding checklist ensures that all workers are compliant and allows the process to be completely paperless. From there, timesheets can be filled out by employees and approved by managers, payroll can be outsourced to Employment Hero for accuracy and reporting can help gain insight into an organization’s performance.

The training has some good videos available. Customer support was good once they got back to me.

Cons

I found the lengthy setup process frustrating. It's not a one step process. Customer support took a while to get back to me with set up issues.

Cons

There has not been one thing that I dislike about the software. It is so easy to use. I'm looking forward to further enhancements of the system like process requisitions

A fully functional HRIS system that improves due to the updates they make. It's perfect for our size business that is growing.

Pros

Has a lot of features and is free of charge when using their preferred superannuation fund for new employees. Amazing system for free!!!

Cons

Would be great to have a working training matrix eventually and a fully operational recruiting system.

Functionality of having the mobile app for employees to log their leave requests, timsheets, view the staff directory and the web-based userface for being able to record, track and manage employees. Also, the on-boarding features are very time sufficient. In the past, our company documented everything manually and printed pages of contracts which would require a physical with signature. Now with Employment Hero everything is completed on the platform and located in one central location and new employees have the ability to login and view as well as digitally sign their employment contract/offer of employment. The ability to review payslips is also a great and private feature of Employment Hero - It is something we are not using at the moment but at looking at phasing out in the near future.

Cons

I don't really have any con's of the software application within Employment Hero. Maybe the opportunity to have a Time in Lieu (TOIL) reporting system can be explored by the developers would assist us more in our operations functions.

Cons

There is afunction that isn't fully developed that would support our business. Ie contractors information not being able to save after they are off boarded.

Employment Hero has allowed us to move on from a lot of the manual practices that we had in place. It's so much more efficient for us to send our contract electronically and have all personal details in one place. It has really taken away a lot of manual work and simplified things for us.
We also love being able to pull standard reports quickly such as staff numbers, anniversaries and gender numbers.

Cons

It would be really great to be able to have our International staff on EH as well. And I do find some of the reporting a little tricky but its nothing that I cant work around.

We love the simple few click employee onboarding. What was once a painful task of collating documetns, following up and then data entry is now a simple task for our business and we can trust that everything is taken care of directly in the system.

Cons

Looking forward to Employment Hero increasing functionality with the Xero API. We have trouble with the timesheets data and superannuation information syncing from the employee portal into Xero.

The new platform is easy to use. Learning portal is most helpful. Reporting stats are a also a great way to give management an overview of company demographics as well as retention/turnover.

Cons

Would be great to see more companies on board for a range of staff perks. It's a great incentive for our staff but we were hoping for more than what is there currently.

Everything - more organisation, more visibility, just more of everything

Pros

The software is easy to use and for the most part intuitive, it is great to have everything all together instead of scattered about in different places and it allows for future growth. We have been able to adapt various functions to our own use, rather than what they were intended for, so the system is versatile. The support is super and best of all, being an Australian company, they are right here so we get very quick response and the software is made Australian laws and requirements in mind, rather than American or European. Overall, I am very positive about this system and we have found that the more we use it the more we find we can do with it.

Cons

We would like to see more in the employee dashboards, such as their goals but apart from that, there isnt really anything we are disappointed with and the EH team is very open to clients providing ideas for the development team.

* The custom reports need to improve. Now we have the option to hide the people who were terminated but still appearing the ones who resigned, etc.

Pros

The ease of use and roll out has been fantastic. The cloud based system doesn't require dedicated IT resources and can managed and rolled out by anyone.

The paperless onboarding/contract signing is fantastic!

Cons

To upload and edit HR documents requires mark up and emailing to the support team.

Onboarding doesnt force the staff member to fill out all relevant personal data fields.

Onboarding module doesnt apply to contractors thus I have to add them through the employee side (whilst stipulating that they are a contractor).

Pros

The look of the site makes it very user-friendly. Customer service is always good and people are always willing to help out.

Cons

Ability to run your own reports would be great. Would make it easier rather than having to wait on EH to run certain reports.

Simplicity in the cloud, connecting the company with the employees and informing the managers.

As an exec being able to access contracts in real time, without a request via a person enables me to explore opportunities quicker.

Cons

Some obvious features still to evolve. Being able to generate lists of Employees with Annual Salaries, or Employees and their Notice periods. No doubt it will come.

Lacks the ability to give admin access over groups.

HR made easier for me, as a 1 person office - being all to everything at times is a struggle. A tool to assist in the running of daily staff requirements can only be a great thing. Compliance can be at your fingertips, anything that brings a bit of balance into your role as the HR, Payroll and 99 other jobs can only be a great thing.

Pros

Ease of use and good client backup.
Easy learn and adaptable.
HR Simplified with in built forms for ease of access
Integration was simple, with simple tutorial and great downloadable information to follow.

Cons

Like anything, practice makes perfect - I need the practice :)
Tutorial is hard to hear at times.
The forms need more adaptability - unable to change sections can delete but not remove just partial sections to suit - Is this user issue or just teething problem.

Organised records and data

Pros

Contains the features that we need to keep employee records, especially the filing of leave. We are struggling to manually keep employee leaves until we got this database, really a huge help for me.

Cons

The set up of payslip is a bit complicated, we are not able to use it as we cannot figure out the proper way of using it. Also we are not sure how secured it is to use.

Works beautifully for storing employee documents and the functionality is awesome for everything from onboarding to entering a leave request.

Pros

I was really impressed with how easy and seamless it is to sync with our current payroll software. Really quick and simple to import information and to load documents. Very user friendly from an admin perspective as well as for employees to load data and enter leave requests. I love this system!

Cons

Our business is slightly different to the norm of organisations using this platform with our staff doing over night shift work and a number of staff being casual there is some gaps in the rostering and time sheet features.

It has streamlined my HR processes and it ensures that all employees must read and acknowledge the polices in place.

Pros

The ease of use, and how it is laid out would be what I like most about the software. Also that it integrates with my accounting software.

Cons

For what I needed it for, there isn't really much I don't like. Probably the only thing would be that there are fields in Employment Hero that I had to manual enter because it is not captured in my accounting software, which is more of a problem with the accounting software.
