Employment Hero is a cloud-based human resource (HRM) management system available to businesses of all industries and sizes. The solution helps manage the entire employee lifecycle, with modules for recruiting, onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, performance review and more.

Employment Hero’s other features include a supporting law firm that keeps contacts and HR policies up to date and employee self-service functionality that allows workers to request leave, view payslips and timesheets and edit personal or banking information.

In regard to recruiting, Employment Hero allows users to create their careers page, post to the Employment Hero jobs board, create questionnaires for candidates and do things like background checks.

An onboarding checklist ensures that all workers are compliant and allows to automate the manual paper-based processes. From there, timesheets can be filled out by employees and approved by managers, payroll can be outsourced to Employment Hero for accuracy and reporting can help gain insight into an organization’s performance.

Great software let down by appalling customer service. They took forever to implement, do not answer the phone, and take a long time to respond to email tickets.

Pros

Very easy to use and has some great features. Great integration with company process and policy. Integrates well with Clock-me-in app and the EH mobile app is easy to use.

Cons

Does not manage attendance of salaried employees well, and adds time/attendance to their salary unless manually adjusted each payrun.

The training has some good videos available. Customer support was good once they got back to me.

Cons

Streamlined our onboarding & HR document management.

Pros

There's no guess work. The menu options are clear and the interface is easy to use. I love the employee onboarding function, the seamless integration with our accounting software & the ability to store all our HR docs in each employee's file for easy access.

Cons

Can't fault it. It's the easiest system implementation I've been part of and the support team are great.

A to Z HRIS for a small to medium size company. Customer support has been very efficient and to my satisfaction.

Cons

The software is very user friendly, however the initial implementation meeting should have been more detailed so that all relevant details could have been updated before go live.

We like how everything flows and works together - it's a really well thought out system! From the sales team to the implementation team, everyone knows the product incredibly well. The webinars are excellent as is all the information available via You Tube.

Cons

Pros

The simplicity makes it easy to navigate. It is really cost effective and the customer service is good.
It save heaps of time compared to accounting program payroll modules and it integrates with the accounting software and banking software.

Cons

It would be good if you could add volunteers (unpaid people) without needing to go through all the fields that need to be populated for paid staff

One online portal for payslips, leave booking, user management.
Can book leave way in the future and see how much leave will have accrued at that date.

Pros

Booking/checking leave is amazingly easy and clear. Consolidates several older systems (payslips, leave, on/offboarding checklists)
iOS app is clean and convenient.

Cons

Can't reassign assigned tasks, or decline with message - if I can't do a particular task for any reason I have to decline it in EH then send an email separately saying why.

Time - This software has saved my sanity in on boarding new employees and now we have over 100 staff its great that they can update their details themselves.

Pros

Ease of use, great on boarding tool, cuts the contract time down considerably, Great task list features, good reporting functions as you can customize easily. Collates all the employee information meaning accounts aren't left to chase down these items from employees.

The employees love the platform too as it has all their information for them in one place and they all love the Annual Leave function

Cons

I would like to be able to assign certain sections to other employees - for example it would be good if the accounts staff could view "Employee Bank Details" without having access to any other information

I would also like to be able to amend and upload (or delete) our own contracts rather than having to go through the support team every time - Support are great if I am not in a rush as it normally take 24-48 Hours to turn around, but if I just need to alter something quickly it would be nice to add and remove myself

We have lots of HR and payroll forms and this software cannot incorporate them to allow us a completely paperless HR system

Biggest benefit is having all the staff data in one place, plus auditing tools/notes to record staff changes and moves. It is fast, simple and does exactly what it needs to.

Pros

It is easy to use, relatively comprehensive, and is a one-stop shop for employee data. We utilise it primarily for recording employee data and contracts (not Payroll) and offers good tools to report on compliance and profile completeness. It is currently an essential tool in our business for managing our staff.

Cons

Most features are pretty well thought out, and one of the biggest limitations (timeframe and cost to have custom built contracts/policies) is soon to be a thing of the past. Probably the biggest bug I have is after viewing or sending a contract to a recipient, there is no one-click to return the the Employee File - you either need to search again or navigate back in the browser.

Functionality of having the mobile app for employees to log their leave requests, timsheets, view the staff directory and the web-based userface for being able to record, track and manage employees. Also, the on-boarding features are very time sufficient. In the past, our company documented everything manually and printed pages of contracts which would require a physical with signature. Now with Employment Hero everything is completed on the platform and located in one central location and new employees have the ability to login and view as well as digitally sign their employment contract/offer of employment. The ability to review payslips is also a great and private feature of Employment Hero - It is something we are not using at the moment but at looking at phasing out in the near future.

Cons

I don't really have any con's of the software application within Employment Hero. Maybe the opportunity to have a Time in Lieu (TOIL) reporting system can be explored by the developers would assist us more in our operations functions.

Employment Hero has allowed us to move on from a lot of the manual practices that we had in place. It's so much more efficient for us to send our contract electronically and have all personal details in one place. It has really taken away a lot of manual work and simplified things for us.
We also love being able to pull standard reports quickly such as staff numbers, anniversaries and gender numbers.

Cons

It would be really great to be able to have our International staff on EH as well. And I do find some of the reporting a little tricky but its nothing that I cant work around.

We love the simple few click employee onboarding. What was once a painful task of collating documetns, following up and then data entry is now a simple task for our business and we can trust that everything is taken care of directly in the system.

Cons

Looking forward to Employment Hero increasing functionality with the Xero API. We have trouble with the timesheets data and superannuation information syncing from the employee portal into Xero.

Everything - more organisation, more visibility, just more of everything

Pros

The software is easy to use and for the most part intuitive, it is great to have everything all together instead of scattered about in different places and it allows for future growth. We have been able to adapt various functions to our own use, rather than what they were intended for, so the system is versatile. The support is super and best of all, being an Australian company, they are right here so we get very quick response and the software is made Australian laws and requirements in mind, rather than American or European. Overall, I am very positive about this system and we have found that the more we use it the more we find we can do with it.

Cons

We would like to see more in the employee dashboards, such as their goals but apart from that, there isnt really anything we are disappointed with and the EH team is very open to clients providing ideas for the development team.
