Greenhouse is an applicant tracking system and recruiting software designed to help businesses find suitable candidates, conduct focused interviews and optimize their recruiting process. Greenhouse is an integrated platform that streamlines various recruiting activities including planning hiring processes, sourcing job applications, managing interview rounds and organizing post-hiring activities.

Greenhouse's hiring process begins with finding the right candidates from a variety of sources, such as job boards, in-person events, external agencies or through in-house referrals. Recruiters can post job openings on popular job boards such as Glassdoor, SimplyHired and Indeed. They can also share job openings on leading social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The application review tool automatically accepts or rejects a candidate’s application based on the selection criteria defined by the recruiter.

Greenhouse calendar helps to schedule interviews and display available slots that can be booked for upcoming interviews. The calendar also integrates with other tools such as Outlook, Google Calendar and iCal to keep track of multiple meetings at a common place. The solution automatically sends reminders to recruiters, candidates and any other person involved in the interview meeting. The software offers complete visibility of the candidate pipeline and is suitable for growing and midsize companies.

    Very intuitive at the time of the start of the application. It allows HR to adapt perfectly to any work synergy, whatever the area. The cotratación never was so simple, definitively by its board of options where to arm a good profile and to execute search is question of minutes.

    Cons

    The load resumes from other applications or work pages. Well, many of them already have a lot of information about future employees.

    Greenhouse helps us with recruitment. It provides options for people to submit resume online and then helps us with the interview process. It helps with the HR work.

    Easy to refer great candidates

    Greenhouse keeps me in the loop with all the great friends/colleagues that I refer to jobs at my company. It helps me nudge along recruiters if they haven't reached out after a long time, and keeps me from being awkwardly unaware of what's going on with a friend's app after I referred them.

    Cons

    The permissions seem to be set up sort of wonky, it's easy for me to see progress of people I personally referred, but I'm not able to keep track of people I interviewed (making for an awkward first day for them -- I'd rather say congrats and welcome to the team as soon as they accept an offer!)

    Very few forms to fill. Unlike the other hiring software that has tons of forms to fill for potential candidates

    Very difficult to get in touch with a person when I have issues with the software. I wanted to contact the administrator when I got an error page during one of my applications

    Greenhouse is a very robust system that can handle any size of company. I used this for a growing start-up company and it brought our recruiting process to a new level.

    Pros

    Reduces Bias in hiring, creates amazing candidate hiring process and user support far exceeds expectations

    Cons

    Calendaring and Scheduling interviews between managers and candidates can become a bit laborious. It became easier as new releases were issued to improve their systems.

    Planning and Implementation are key!

    Pros

    Very user-friendly system if set up properly on implementation! This system can do so much it is amazing. It made filtering resumes very easy and I really liked that it tells you an estimated time of completion for reviewing resumes. If you need a hand quickly, Greenhouse offers "live chat" I found that super helpful!

    Cons

    This system can do so much! That was a pro and it's also one of my cons. If you don't need certain features, don't start them off in your implementation. It can really get away from you.

    Greenhouse is a popular option, but for the cost, hassle of setting up, inability to customize, horrible customer service, etc, it really isn't worth the hype. We used Greenhouse for 1 year, and it was honestly 1 year too long. At this point, I've used Jobvite, Lever and Google Hire, and Greenhouse is my least favorite.

    Pros

    The UI/UX is great and easy to navigate. Honestly anybody can navigate the site with very little instruction.

    Cons

    Their customer service is horrible. They use Zendesk and 75% of the time, they do not know the answer to the questions. Their cancelation policy is horrible. Really can't customize to the degree they promote. For small-to-mid size company such as ours, there are better options out there for half the price. We now use Google Hire, and we love it SO much more.

    Scaling and organizing efficiently my recruiting process

    Pros

    Greenhouse has been used in the last 3 startups I have worked at . Its simple and minimal interface have made it my favorite software to handle recruiting. I like a lot how I can assign tasks roles to people and customize the workflow according to my company's needs. I love how the interview kits were included and the help that the scorehard was for our team. Their customer support was also quick and onpoint.

    Cons

    Just one thing. In some causes I would like the UI to be simpler and more intuitive. Sometimes I had to do dive deep to figure how to do some things.

    Very easy applicant tracking system, it is great to have a software that is collaborative, easy, and customizable.

    Pros

    I like how easy it is to keep up with my candidates, I like that greenhouse is very customizable and that support responds so quickly with my requests. Greenhouse is very easy to use and takes allows me to see metrics very easily

    Cons

    Cost is very expensive for what we are getting. I would also like to see more metrics implemented in the reporting tool.

    Systems needs some updates, once you delete something it is gone forever customer service is a little slow but the online help is useful

    I used this software while interviewing with new jobs. I found that most companies are using Greenhouse to schedule their interviews. From my side (interviewee), I found it great to have several time slot options available to choose from when it came to marking your availability.

    Cons

    There were not too many things that I did not like about using this software honestly. I think from the user-end it is pretty easy to use for anyone.

    It has a very easy to use interface where you can quickly see the Job Descriptions. Simple to apply and upload resumes or cover letters. Automated responses is a good feature too.

    The system looks a little bit dated. I would like to see integrations with more systems to easily upload from different sources.

    Pros

    Greenhouse is simple once up and going. It's can be very automated, with templates and easy to use for candidates.

    Really modern, easy to use ATS

    Pros

    This is a very popular ATS system at startup companies. It is a lot more modern than previous systems I have used. It's easy to use. The user interface is very friendly.

    Cons

    Not really clear to me where you easily leave notes and look back on them. I don't totally understand the scorecard and prefer not to use it. It took me some time to understand how to use the features.

    Phenomenal features, easy to use - but extremely high priced, not great support/export

    Helpful to map out a recruitment journey in one place. But can be done with more control of your data in many other HR tools.

    Pros

    Intuitive features and easy to process between steps Helps to ensure consistency between interviews, plans, and third party integrations for staff intake and hiring. Easy to post jobs and link multiple job posts to the same position internally (newer posts get more applications, but don't need a new job inside the portal) Allows for constant hiring, and deep analytics on use of HR teams time and performance - Really not a fit for small or midsize firms, you can tell its great for the enterprise

    Cons

    - Support is great initially, then is not as helpful after execution (contract lock in) - Pricing is annual, and very high - Hard to justify the ROI for convenience on HR team - Pricing is completely based on size of the company (meaning how much you can afford) vs. the use of the platform or feature set - Prohibitive annual, upfront, and renewal terms - Company tried to renew automatically within contract notification periods, without confirmation/touching base previously, and expected higher contract terms without discussion or proposal - Exporting data is non-functional. Only left with Resumes and not full details, notes, or other data your team may have created (Keep that in mind when spending time analyzing candidates and for legal/compliance) - Really consider how your team will use this, and if it is either a time saver or money maker for recruiting. Chances are, it's not - but it is convenient in one place. But once you're in it - very hard to leave and difficult to offboard.

    Seamless integration with our software, easy to use, love the ability to customize, excellent functionality for our purposes!

    There is some functionality with reports that I wish were different. When I want to drill down to the individual level, I wish it were easier to have the option to go back to the same spot in the report when I'm done.

    It integrates with most HRIS systems. Also, when you log in, you can view all the positions available and share them on most social media platforms.
