Greenhouse is an applicant tracking system and recruiting software designed to help businesses find suitable candidates, conduct focused interviews and optimize their recruiting process. Greenhouse is an integrated platform that streamlines various recruiting activities including planning hiring processes, sourcing job applications, managing interview rounds and organizing post-hiring activities.

Greenhouse's hiring process begins with finding the right candidates from a variety of sources, such as job boards, in-person events, external agencies or through in-house referrals. Recruiters can post job openings on popular job boards such as Glassdoor, SimplyHired and Indeed. They can also share job openings on leading social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The application review tool automatically accepts or rejects a candidate’s application based on the selection criteria defined by the recruiter.

Greenhouse calendar helps to schedule interviews and display available slots that can be booked for upcoming interviews. The calendar also integrates with other tools such as Outlook, Google Calendar and iCal to keep track of multiple meetings at a common place. The solution automatically sends reminders to recruiters, candidates and any other person involved in the interview meeting. The software offers complete visibility of the candidate pipeline and is suitable for growing and midsize companies.

    It has some powerful features. It allows the People team to track applicants from start to finish. It integrates with other applications and allows for outsourced recruiters to load their pipeline into Greenhouse, so all applicants are tracked in one place.

    Some of the user experience isn't intuitive, and sometimes you would need to click around to find what you need.

    I like that you can track your applicants and people that you have referred. When interviewing people I think that it is a smooth process of grading candidates and leaving feedback in one consistent area.

    Greenhouse is the best software I have used for recruting but to be fair I haven't used many others.

    Overall, I find that this is an easy tool to navigate and it helps with the administrative work tremendously.

    Pros

    The software allows us to have all of the information relating to the job opening in one location - from posting to hire.

    Cons

    I would like it if the interview reminder also pointed out that there is a scorecard for use before you hold the meeting. There are scorecard questions that would help in the interview, but you are not notified about them until you are prompted about the scorecard and dig into the email and links. Make it easier to pull that out for the interviewer.
    The software is also not compatible with some search sites. This should be made clear early in the vetting.

    Very simple to use- really good UI and UX.

    Pros

    It is extremely intuitive- very easy to look up jobs, candidates, etc. Did not even need training on it because I could understand it just from exploring the site- makes a lot of sense.

    Cons

    Nothing really that I can think of actually- I have only used one other ATS and this is far superior so I have no complaints.

    excellent experience

    Pros

    Very intuitive interface, even for first time users. There is no learning curve, from adding candidates to submitting interview feedback. I especially like the "Fly on the wall" feature which allows you to leave notes to other interviewers and recruiters about candidates. You can also get nice dashboard reports of all your open reqs. Never had any performance issues with this site.

    Cons

    Overall there wasn't a lot I didn't like. The mobile app is pretty spartan, but that's fine for this type of service.

    Very easy interface for candidates which is so important that they have an easy experience as to not scare candidates away.

    Cons

    The reporting on the back-end is super weak and at least when I was a user it only had a handful of canned reports. Could not get some very basic reporting out of the system.

    A feature monster that does everything, if you can find it

    GH covers all aspects of the hiring process I consider relevant as a hiring manager (I can't rate the tool from an HR perspective). It's really very very complete. Some parts of GH are very efficient, for example the CV screening UI and the process of sending rejections, which can be scheduled. Collaboration between HR, hiring manager and different interviewers is generally well done.

    Cons

    The downside to GH is the generally chaotic UI. As someone who uses GH every few months rather than daily, which is probably typical for hiring managers, I find myself hunting for pieces of information (basic candidate information, take home test submission, etc.) and not finding them where I expect them.

    Also, sometimes CVs and other external information won't load immediately.

    I can never find past canidates.

    Overall, poor. I use it weekly and for the day to day purposes it's fine but always leaves me frustrated when I try and do anything the most basic function.

    Pros

    It's pretty simple and keeps everything in one place.

    Cons

    I can never seem to find old applicants, resumes or anything. The search function is pretty poor and leaves me frustrated. I usually give up when trying to find certain details or information on ANY past canidate.

    The integration with Google Calendar is AMAZING. The ability to change events/times/etc within the calendar and have it reflect within Greenhouse is great and makes for much easier scheduling.

    Cons

    The fact that I can't send and receive within Greenhouse (or at least have all the emails tracked) can be rough. It can get confusing and hard to keep track within your own email about all the candidates that you have to coordinate with. If you could track your emails it would be amazing.

    I liked that it no only housed candidate resumes but also allowed you to score them and give a summary of how their interview went. The platform is pretty easy to navigate too.

    I had my experience with this application when it was IT support, and among them was HR, as well as others, it offers many good things at personnel selection levels.

    Pros

    I like its interface, in the same way I think that at the recruitment level the HR processes for companies can improve, without any hint, it is evident that it must improve in its processes so that the search of personnel becomes effective.

    Cons

    really the application is very striking and has things that are worthwhile as a client, however, not everything is good, there are things that in its interface do not have levels of recruitment, for user or client a good application structure is necessary.

    Being highly customizable, this software is perfect while you organize a recruitment operation. Employee Dashboard, analytics, Job Setup etc. has helped to make my job easier. It improves interaction at every touch point and builds a unique hiring plan for different roles. Especially the referral process features like posting and tracking on social media are my favorites. They provide workflows along with approvals. Among these pros, one other I would like to mention is the amazing customer service. Very professional and to the point, they are always solution oriented and efficient. They ensure great analytics, that by checking out the weekly reports on recruitments, you can track the levels of activity and you can add notes and use scorecards for applicants. Much more than a normal ATS, Greenhouse can really step up your game for you.

    Cons

    Even though there are a variety of reports readily available, I still should create my own in excel by exporting data from outside the application. The absence of a mail merge feature. The search capabilities require improvement. A feature to compare and analyze different candidates would be helpful.

    It's pretty intuitive and quick for team members to get up to speed. Our recruiters are able to manage the pipeline very easily.

    I would really consider Greenhouse before implementing more complex solutions like SAP, Oracle or other more expensive ones. Greenhouse is as powerful, if not more powerful, more flexible and truly modern recruiting software build with users in mind.

    Pros

    Greenhouse is probably the most powerful, easy too use recruiting software/ATS. Greenhouse is build to allow recruiters and hiring managers to work together, sharing and collaborating easy. Managing your recruiting process could not be easier with custom setup. Recruiters can plug in many services with a very easy to integrate API, giving you access to job boards, social media, video interviewing platforms and many others. Reporting is also made really easy with custom dashboards.

    Cons

    I really can not think of any downside to implementing Greenhouse - it is a truly standout provider.
