Lever is a best-of-breed applicant tracking system suitable for companies of all sizes. Web-based and available worldwide, Lever features the ability to customize a job site, one-click sourcing, referral links, two-way email sync and more to help streamline recruiting efforts.

The candidate pipeline is customizable and provides insight into where applicants are dropping off in the process, while Gmail and Outlook calendar integration allows for interview scheduling.

Lever also has robust employee referral functionality, including shareable job links for LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter and a Google Chrome extension that allows employees to put a referral in the company pipeline right from their browser.

ATS by far is the best I have used and I have been working in the industry for over 12 years.

Pros

Every time I want to ask a question, the support is always there which is great for me as a user of the system day to day.
I really like the fact that Lever constantly communicates what new feature has been implemented and what I have access to.
It's really allowed me to make informed decisions to the business with the support of the data that is available at your fingertips in Lever.

Cons

To date I have not found anything unhelpful.
The only downside is some of the integrations are not fit for our HR systems.

- There are so many features that many times usability is not intuitive. There are many help articles out there but many times we have a specific problem to our system, and digging through the many hyperlinks/videos takes too much time

Lever if friendly to the eye and easy to navigate. Our relationship team member at Lever has been very involved in our implementation and a great resource for questions.

Cons

Like all tools, there are some modifications that need to be made that would make it easier for recruiters who have high volume roles. For example, archiving multiple profiles at a time without removing them from other job postings that they've applied to.

The usability of creating forms and process that directly aligns to our internal business needs tend to be tough or not doable at this stage in the game for Lever. We often get the answer "that's a great question, one that we have been hearing a good bit. I'll make sure we pass this onto our business systems team so they're aware."

It was and has been a world class experience from the moment, I first spoke to the Lever team, to the demo stage, through the final review and negotiation stage to implementation. The sales team was excellent and very flexible in speaking with our internal teams before we decided to purchase the product. Their knowledge, flexibility and patience was amazing. Once we purchased Lever, we were assigned a Customer Success Manager. He knew the product well and was an awesome implementation resource for our team at VC. He was an excellent project manager and kept the entire team on track with our tasks and timelines. It was truly a seamless implementation with him as our lead and my internal partners who worked tirelessly with him to migrate from our old ATS to Lever. I highly recommend Lever to any company that is looking to partner closely with their teams to attract and source top talent for their organizations.

Awesome team they have over there! Regi was amazingly patient during the implementation as I asked millions of questions and was to to respond everytime.

Pros

The ability to dive into your entire recruiting pipeline and reporting is incredible. It's easy to edit processes as well and add new people to interviews.

Cons

It would be great if it had better calendar integration to make scheduling easier. They have the EasyBook link feature, but I find it really only helpful when booking interviews for myself.

Clean Functionality, but Major Flaws

Lever has made a great many clever, intelligent design choices. For example, color coding makes for a clean UI with clear calls to action, so that when a candidate needs to be scheduled for an interview, a big blue "schedule" button appears next to their name.

Cons

Our company recently made a terrible discovery about some secret Lever functionality. It turns out that some our top executives have been somehow put on a secret "Suppressions List" which caused all of the messages being sent to them within Lever to be blocked. Many of these messages were time sensitive and mission critical. As a result of this "secret suppression", several top candidates bottlenecked at key points in the hiring process. After not receiving a response, many of them dropped out and extremely valuable talent was lost.

So instead of accelerating our recruiting process, this suppression list functionality damaged our process. And the WORST part of all this is that Lever never once informed us about any of this. We discovered it ourselves.

No one in our company was notified when our executives were added to this censor list
No one in our company was ever informed that this could EVER happen
No documentation or info was ever provided to us about this kind of "Suppressions List" functionality
We still do not know how this Suppressions List is tracked or maintained
This Suppressions List functionality is not covered in any of the Lever on boarding training with new clients
This Suppressions List is not described anywhere in the Lever HELP documentation
This Suppressions List is not accessible to our Lever Admins

Why would any legitimate ATS company build such terrible gestapo like censorship into the bones of their product?

We are still scratching our heads on this question, while we try to undo the damage that was caused

Cons

The integrations with 3rd party job boards (ex. LinkedIn, Glassdoor) are not instant. The switch from our old ATS to new did not refresh our jobs on other boards, and (for 2 days and counting), users are still being directed to our decommissioned ATS.

I used to use Jobscience, which was confusing and pretty ugly. Lever is a lot more intuitive, and even when I don't know how to do something I can easily search the support guides or find out by myself by playing around. I also like how it integrates with so many other softwares, which makes the recruiting process more seamless and connected.

Cons

I feel like creating reports can get confusing. There were times I wanted to create reports to highlight certain things, but found that I was unable to do so. It would be nice to be able to put any variables against each other to track progress across all reqs. I tried to extract data on feedback forms and the data I got was too messy and hard to read.

- Wish reporting focused on the reqs vs. the postings. It makes it very inaccurate for us and a lot of extra legwork on our side to determine our recruiters numbers / time to fills / actual openings /etc.
- It's annoying to send offer letters in lever. So easy if EVERYTHING aligns, however, recruiting is so dynamic start dates are constantly changing, salary negotiations, sign by dates change - this becomes bulky and we have to re-submit the whole offer (since our executive team approves - this has lead to some confusion and we start to operate outside of lever, which I don't like)

recruiting was so amazing with lever! all the members of our team could have access and vision into what was going on. collaboration on resume and candidate review made easy. especially for high-volume positions, organizing the pipeline was a breeze.

intelligent search bar always brings me my most relevant search results (like candidates i've already viewed or have applied to my team's positions), very robust user permissions (limit by posting, department, status, etc), calendar sync & email sync (everything you send to a candidate will sync with gmail and creating calendar invites will full agendas and context is EASY in lever), robust pipeline functionality, sections for notes on candidates with built-in rating system (1-4 from strong no-hire to strong hire). customizable email templates where you can save attachments or default the reply to address save so much time!
i adopted lever with no training at all. took me 30 minutes to fully understand how the platform functions and how it can cater to my specific needs.

Cons

the only con at all is that they do not integrate with wonderlic, which is an industry standard screening tool so i hope that they integrate soon!

It's great for tracking candidate profiles, and communications to candidates as well. It also allows you to keep track of applicants to source for future roles on your team.

I love how Lever includes all aspects of the hiring process. You can easily see all candidates that have applied and if they have referrals as well as their most recent place of employment. You can also see which candidates have had phone interviews and if they are progressing to on-site interviews. One of the features I love the most about lever is the ability to leave post-interview feedback.

Cons

There is nothing that I dislike about Lever. I think it would be great if the software had the ability to sort current applicants based on relevant experience needed for a position, but that is much more of a nice to have than a necessity.

Love data/analytics/reporting and the ease of use for hiring managers. The training presentations were also a huge help to helping on-board employees/hiring managers to the platform. The ease of use for not only daily users but all employees makes this tool worth the investment!

Cons

The nurture campaign feature is great but a little harder to understand/implement upon on-boarding. The on-boarding for this feature could have been a little longer.

It's such a collaborative tool and hiring managers have had an easy time getting up to speed with it. We've been able to gather candidate feedback in a much more efficient way, schedule easily through the tool, and manage candidates more effectively.

Pros

The integrations are great! The Chrome, Google, and Slack integrations make scheduling and follow up with hiring managers so seamless. The UI is very easy to navigate and with Lever nurture it helps to avoid the "black hole" of candidate management.

Cons

The agency management feature leaves something to be desired, but from what I understand they are working on that feature and it hopefully will be improved shortly

It was easy to use, single sign-on, links with office 365 and outlook. Easy administration, facilitates collaboration and communication, and manages and stores data.

Cons

There are few minor things like we cannot change the EEO statement to adapt to where we are located (NZ). The email sync was initially slow. Email fonts are variable but nothing we can't tolerate.

Lever makes the entire recruiting cycle a lot easier! It's very easy to use and has proven to be very valuable from day one!

Cons

Nothing till now. It's been great! If I had to suggest something it would be to add the ability to schedule a video conference call via lever so that you would never have to use another tool for the entire process.

With our team doubling in size in less than two years and the launch of a Talent Acquisition department, we require systems that can keep up with our growth and continuous improvements. Lever's intuitive UX has made customization and integration into our operations easy for both the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers. Not to mention that the Lever team has been fantastic to work with, even with us navigating time differences half way around the globe!

Cons

Some functionalities have yet to be developed, but Lever team is very open to improvement feedback & have developments in the pipeline.

Lever is easy to navigate, has a great user interface, multiple integrations, a simplified reporting dashboard and generally makes life much easier!

Cons

The mobile integration is satisfactory but could be better. Whilst the mobile web browser is ok, I feel that a mobile app could take the platform to the next level.

The simple UI makes this application incredibly easy to use, as a simple reviewer and user. The integration with the gsuite makes it a HUGE plus as well!

Cons

I honestly could not find a single con when utilizing the software; I am not an administer, but as a user it makes the use incredibly easy and friendly!
