In a busy internal medicine clinic setting, it helps reduce some of the administrative burden related to medication approvals and refill requests. The platform is generally user friendly and integrates well into daily workflows for staff handling prescriptions and patient follow-up. Cons: One downside is that approval turnaround times still heavily depend on the insurance company, so delays can happen even when everything is submitted correctly. Medical providers (e.g. physician offices) can use it at no charge. Filling out a form is takes far less time than waiting on hold to speak with someone from the insurance company on the phone, who will wind up asking the same questions or filling out the same form. The system can often get a response instantly, or within minutes. Cons: Some insurance companies (e.g. Georgia Medicaid) are not yet integrated with covermymeds. It gives instructions to go to parts of the website that aren't there. it's archival system is primitive and they give forced choices that are not adequate.
