WRS Health is a cloud-based integrated EHR, practice management and billing management solution designed to helps medical professionals streamline the core activities of their practice. The solution offers EHR, medical billing, patient scheduling, order management, e prescribing, image management, secure faxing, disease management and more.

WRS Health is 2011-2012 ONC-ATCB and CCHIT 2011 certified solution. Medical professionals using this system are eligible for meaningful use incentives. WRS Health serves roughly 35 specialties, with specific templates, functionality and workflows developed for each. The system also has specific CPT and ICD codes for each specialty. The suite includes a website and patient portal for streamlining communication, sharing medical records and building patients' medical database.

WRS Health is priced based on the number of providers in the organization and consists of a low monthly subscription fee. Prices include support and upgrades and there are discounts available for multi-provider organizations and bundled services.

Good yet could be great

Overall a good program and definitely a good value for the money. The company is responsive and pleasant to deal with. A moderate learning curve. Worth looking at yet as with any software you have to figure out how it may help or hinder your workflow. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. With the improvements the company is working on it may be better in the next few months (or not).

Pros

Easy to see summaries of patient information and to pull down test results.
Very nice company to deal with.
Company dedicated to improving the software.
Patients can see lab results that come into the program in "real time". Often they will beat me to seeing the results.
Patient portal.
Although we didn't use it, the program will call your patients 2 days before their visit to remind them. (We prefer calling on our own-yet this can be a big labor saver)
Likewise we didn't use the practice management tools yet they are available and integrated into the program (this includes billing).

Cons

Task manager/results review section needs improvement. I could not send comments either to patients or to my staff without going through 3 screens. I found this time consuming and since I like to feed back on results to patients it was just not helpful. In addition, in the task manager you have to go through 2 screens to clear it from the task manager section.
Ordering labs and consults and xrays was initially a chore, yet once I spent a Saturday night looking up all the CPT codes and then saving them into different sections my staff and I became pretty proficient at it and actually found ordering easy to do (so actually a PRO as well as a Con, with the con being I had to figure out that shortcut on my own).
Prevention section is nonexistent. You must create it yourself which I found difficult. I did not understand why the company did not at least load the US Preventative Services Task Force recommendations based on age and then let you edit from there. It would be much more helpful.

Pros

Cloud based, easy to adapt and develop specific templates for a global visit to include CPT and ICD-10 codes.

Cons

Does not incorporate the referring physician so that letters to referral MDs are hard to send out. Need to update the fax numbers of all the physicians in the referral area which requires administration of the team to perform.
The instructional videos are out of date with the newer versions of the software.

We are stuck with this product! Customer support is non-existent. If you put in a support ticket you are not likely to get any resolution. If you are told it has been sent to "Development" that is a black hole and you will never get a solution or an answer. The Clearinghouse they are using for electronic claims is horrible (PhiCure). We have experienced so many problems with billing. WRS is not offering any support. WRS billing is horrible. We had so many unpaid claims, I complained. Do not do that. When I complained they dumped us and I had to find a new biller. We still have unpaid claims that will never be paid due to untimely filing. The product is very rigid. You cannot make any changes to templates. The templates available for our specialty do not meet the criteria for the E & M codes. The changes in more specific ICD10 codes are not accepted in WRS.

We just implemented the software in our office, but its been very easy to use, and promotes proper charting and is extremely helpful for people who are not familiar with proper HPI and exam charting.

Our office has just converted to EMR/PM and WRS has made this a very pleasant transition. Software Advice did a superb job narrowing the choices for us and listened to our practice needs and the top recommendation was WRS Health and as a whole the practice is very happy and so are our patients.

Pros

The self guided help as well as the online assistance availability. The combination of PM and EMR in one package. The ability to speak to actual physicians that are using this in their practice.

The system is relatively easy to use but it is too rigid. The templates are not in compliance with current E & M coding

Poor technical support. There is no tech support phone number to call. You have to put in a "support ticket". More often than not the answer to your problem is "No one else is having that problem" or you get no response at all.

Recommendations

Take your time and do not rush into anything. Obtain references and talk to the providers who use the software. Make sure that the software meets all of your needs for your particular practice and specialty. Find out who and where their technical support is located. Determine if it is available by phone or just putting in a ticket (this is not a viable option). If you choose to have them do your billing find out what level of training they have completed and do they know how to use the Clearinghouse.

Overall it's fairly easy to use compared to other EMRs: NextGen, MicroMD, Digichart

#1 No up-to-date online self-training info and not easy to get to someone to ask a question. #2 As with ALL the EHR's I've used - there's the usual not-fully functional lab interface --- this is VERY hard for any practice to get to work 100% as you practically need a full time IT person working on it. #3 Email & Patient portal need to be more user friendly and functional. #4 Should be able to get into a chart from all Tasking, email, labs, etc - you have to close out of one are and open another, then reopen what you closed - takes a lot of time. Need "Page UP and Page DOWN" buttons to maneuver more quickly on the templates. Need more individual functionality (e.g. my phrases, individual email from the portal) for practices that have multiple users. Need to be able to ERROR notes made in ERROR.

Recommendations

From what I understand its pretty inexpensive compared to others - if money is an issue, you can squeek by with this one as it's pretty basic.

It's web based and I can access information from my phone or anywhere there is a computer. The ability to do billing and EMR all in one.

Have to log a new ticket with every question and then check the support section for response. Reports are complicated.

Recommendations

See if someone you know uses it and watch how it works. It's not perfect but for the price and features, it is a good product.

The product is terrible. Simple functions like eRX and lab interface do not work properly. The patient portal is terrible. Support is abominable. Billing is bad and the reports make no sense.

Recommendations

Stay AWAY. There are problems with every aspect of the system. The sales team tells you it was designed by doctors and billers. After using the system for 4 months I cannot believe that is true. I am looking to switch to a new EHR.

This is a very user-friendly Practice Management system. EMR is very easy for Provider to use. The conversion process was very painless. The support we get is great. There is never a time I call customer service that my question is not answered. I have a really great Account Manager that makes sure we are using the system with maximum results with our revenue.

I have been using WRSHealth for almost 3 years. It is very adaptable and customizable. Their staff and support are great. They keep improving it. Meaningful use is "built in," so we can track our progress. There are also built in training videos on meeting meaningful use targets.

The system calls a patient at home after the office has scheduled them for an appointment. It calls them back to register them, which is redundant.

When searching for particular appointment types (e.g., a slot for an r-wave), it will pull up all 15-minute appointments when I am looking for a 45-minute slot.

Web based and always accessible. You can do most anything needed. You can always log a ticket for any problems. Sometimes it takes awhile to get an answer on billing issues but they have decreased my AR a great deal from my past billing person.
I wish there were a few more customizable features - like making notes that fit my practice, automatically putting tasks/emails for patients into their EMR "file", and like a real chart, allowing notes to go into separate files - like phone messages all in one section, OV notes in one section...now it just runs on and after 7 years it is sometimes hard to find a particular note.

WRS is very easy to use. We were looking for a program that would give us more options since our old EHR was not really going in the direction we were heading. WRS was definitely much more affordable and gave us options that we really liked and felt would benefit our practice. WRS allows patient to message you through the web portal which is nice, however it does go into everyones inbox and you sort of have to find out if someone has replied to a message since it will not let you know that. Order & tracking is a really nice feature as well. we also like the printout screen in the program. Its nice to be able to view the pt Hx all in one screen. Being able to fax imported items, results, referrals all at once by checking off a box and sending is a real time saver as well. There are a lot of great features in this program. Of course there is no perfect program but this program does work well for us!

Registering new patients is so much easier, especially if the patients have an email address so they can log into WRS and complete their medical history. Billing is a breeze, with a few clicks I have all claims that need to be sent to the clearinghouse.

There were only a few glitches that have already been corrected. Any time I find something that needs attention, it's quickly taken care of so I have no complaints.

The only complaint about ease of use happens with all software......it's a pain and takes a while to make it specifically for you. However,: that being said, once you do set it up it's a breeze. With your own templates you can point and click; plus add extra to personalize that patient visit. My office staff loved the scheduler and my biller never complained. I would recommend this EHR to anyone, without hesitation and actually have.

The best thing about this vendor is working on the program and discovering that if they would add this particular feature it would make your job more efficient. You send the vendor your suggestions and the next thing you know the feature has been added. The only con that we have found is that the vendor needs to add more interfacing with the national labs.

Web based complete EMR and billing software that is very adaptable to the way you practice. I have been using it for 3 years now and am quite satisfied. Meaningful use functionality is built in. I love their training and support people. Responses are always quick. They are constantly improving the product. It is affordable, a monthly fee. It runs on regular PC's and laptops.

like any EMR, it slows you down compared to paper charts. Sometimes there are bugs when they upgrade, but they are fixed quickly.

This software suite is excellent overall. The EHR "open tabs" option allows quick and easy access to the pertinent areas of the EHR. This provides for efficient real-time documentation and coding of procedures and diagnoses. The revenue cycle management and practice management modules are excellent, intuitive and easy. Customer service and support are excellent and timely. We are quite happy with this product and company.

We are a psychiatric practice. Psychiatry is very different than any other specialty. We were promised the sun, moon and stars. That never materialized. We have been with WRS Health for over 3 years. Lots of promises to make improvements for our specialty but no follow through. It is fairly easy to use. We do have slow downs during the day and sometimes it will automatically log you out in the middle of something which can be frustrating when you lose part of a note. E-prescribing works on and off. We get a lot of calls from local pharmacies and mail order that they did not receive a prescription even though our logs show it went through. Customization by the customer is not available. If you have issues you must put in a "ticket". We have tickets, I finally closed out because there was no action on them after months, some even were open over a year. It may work well for family medicine or internal medicine but I would not recommend it for psychiatry.

I am so thrilled with WRS Health. The system is working well. There are a couple things I can¿t do, but overall it¿s excellent. We have five locations and used another system years ago. We¿ve been with WRS since November 2009 and we are very happy. I would absolutely recommend WRS Health to other physicians. Our only hesitation was that it wasn¿t MAC compatible, but the customer service was so incredible we agreed to sign up and wait for them to develop the compatibility. The forward thinking and customer service made us stay.

WRS Health helped my practice because it¿s a well-organized package. We have implemented all aspects of the system. The adaptation of WRS for each individual site is a real drawing card. It streamlines a lot of processes for us so we are not doing redundant tasks. The tracking mechanism is working great for us. The patient education that¿s attached to the diagnosis is a very a useful feature. I¿ve noticed improvements in practice workflow and efficiency. Meaning Use has worked well for our medical providers.

I am happy to give the WRS Health¿s customer service team kudos. They are upfront and honest with us and I appreciate that. They assured me that once we got where we needed to be they would focus on Mac compatibility. They kept their word and I would like to say thank you to the entire WRS team for making WRS compatible with Mac. You folks have made an enormous amount of improvements throughout the year and I was pleasantly surprised when I logged on and got further through the system than the patients names. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have been working at Dr. Dan Vatev¿s practice for eleven years and changing to EMR with WRS Health is the best decision he¿s ever made! We started with WRS Health in October 2013, and we began seeing improvements in our workflow immediately. Once you start with WRS Health, you don¿t need to look any further for an EMR.

We have two locations, and WRS has helped our practices function with ease. Rather than having to pull charts and medical records, we can go into the system and find everything in one spot. The system also allows the doctors to customize templates. All they have to do is look into the system, see what patients are in the office, and they can tend to them right away. All the information entered at the front desk is at their fingertips immediately. They can refer to the patient¿s chart and help them instantly, eliminating multiple steps in the typical process.

WRS Health¿s billing system is working really well for us right now. WRS populates the form automatically. In the past, we would send claims to insurance companies and have to wait to be accepted or denied. Now we know what changes need to be made before we send a claim. WRS notifies us right away and tells us what we need to fix before we can proceed.

We are currently working between two systems. We were attempting to do reports with our other system, but it was far too complicated. I¿ve been working in the other system since 2006, and instead of making improvements over the years, it seems as though things are becoming more difficult. They were even losing the claims we were submitting! We would call and they would say it was never received. I can¿t wait to complete the transition to WRS Health.

The customer service team at WRS Health is very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We call them and they get back to us right away. We don¿t have to wait. Mike Smith is the best. He is so attentive and prompt with his responses! When I send an email, I find that he has replied before I even think to check my email. He follows up after training and calls to check in. Before going live with the WRS Health system I was afraid. I couldn¿t imagine going live without more training. But the WRS Health team offered to help us right away.

Overall, things are running much smoother in the office from the front desk to the appointments with patients. We are very happy with this EMR.

WRS Health has helped our practice run a lot smoother, and I would definitely recommend this system to other practices. We no longer have to worry about making confirmation calls, and from a scheduling standpoint, this has made things a lot easier. Our patients are able to confirm appointments on their own. We love that! It gives us more time to take care of messages coming through the phone. Everything at the front desk is running a lot smoother.

We are currently learning WRS Health¿s billing system and the process is fluid. I can easily drag and drop information to the system. I really appreciate the customer service team. They have helped me and my coworkers get acclimated with the program. When I have questions, they get back to me very quickly. I really like working with them. They are so supportive!

My practice is in Miami Florida and I specialize in Neurology. I would recommend WRS Health to other physicians because it¿s easy to use. I find the system to be helpful and accommodating. The Meaningful Use analysis is wonderful. I am able to seamlessly send all of the required information to obtain the funds. WRS Health EMR e-prescribing is another useful feature as it helps patients get their medications quickly. This feature also allows me to record the prescription information and provide clear evidence for Meaningful Use government incentives.

I¿ve noticed significant improvements in work flow and it continues to get better! This cloud based system possesses all of the attributes necessary to ensure efficient work flow. I switched from a different EMR system as it was not user friendly. We were able to move forward quickly with WRS Health. At first, I had no idea how to navigate through the system, but the customer service has been great and helped put us in the right direction.

I absolutely recommend WRS Health. The web-based system enables me to get the information I need when I need it, whether I¿m at the office or at home. WRS Health has helped my internal medicine practice by allowing me to keep my patients well informed. During a visit, we can view their chart together. This allows the patient to keep track of their health history for the entire year. The feature I find to be most helpful is E-prescribing because refills can be done electronically and accurately. My patients love this feature! Not having to pull paper charts really improves workflow. I save time and get more done in a day.

I did my research before choosing WRS Health. I used an EMR at a previous practice, and as I worked through that system I noted the things I thought were missing. I was looking for a web-based program so I would have 24/7 access, and WRS Health provided this. I¿m an organized person and WRS allows me to track the important things.

I only have good things to say about the customer support and training team at WRS Health. I¿m currently continuing with training, and it¿s very informative. They are very patient with me and answer my questions in a timely fashion.

I highly recommend Waiting Room Solutions to anyone who is looking for a state of the art EMR system at an affordable price.

Pros

When I first went through my training I was forced to chart with paper records, and then I gradually transitioned to an EHR system at the hospital where I did my training. This caused me to review many of the best vendors in the industry. In my search, I realized a web-based system was the only thing that would enable me to access patient records regardless of location when I went out on my own. I came across Waiting Room Solutions and they are definitely one of the most user-friendly, web-based systems that I found. The WRS team is very responsive whenever we are having issues. The companies they partner with help me to improve the care of my patients.

Cons

I do not have anything negative to say about WRS.
