WebPT is a cloud-based, multi-product platform for outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy clinics. At its core, WebPT is an electronic medical records (EMR) system that enables therapists to produce and store patient documentation as well as transmit medical records via fax or a HIPAA-compliant portal.

In addition to documentation, the EMR, which maintains a 99.99% uptime rate, includes practice insight reporting, customizable evaluation templates and compliance safeguards. WebPT customers can also add patient scheduling, automated appointment reminders, file storage, outcomes tracking and a home exercise program within the core product. The WebPT EMR also integrates with a variety of electronic health record (EHR) platforms.

Additionally, WebPT offers practice management solutions, like patient engagement and relationship management tools, an online continuing education portal, revenue cycle management services and multiple billing integrations.

The company launched in 2008, and it’s headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.

    WebPT is an awesome company. The support team is excellent.

    Pros

    Customer Service with WebPT is excellent. They are great company. The software is very specific. The scheduling side of the software is awesome.

    Cons

    Too detailed - the workflow for our company was too complicated. The system is great and is specific to PT, but too detailed for our workflow.

    Good customer support, just not the right product for me!

    Pros

    I can see how this would be a functional for a larger practice. It provides a lot of training for those who are learning the software.

    Cons

    This product is clearly designed for PT's - I should have known better! I also ended up spending much more money that I wanted to due to my smallish caseload (I see about 30 clients a week).

    This system has changed my life! It is has opened up my time to do more valuable tasks within my business.

    Pros

    This documentation and billing system is: Easy to use, efficient, smartly engineered, compatible with a variety of devices.

    Cons

    I have encountered no cons when using this system. On several occasions there has been a bug in the system. I called to notify the staff, they immediately modified the system and correct the bugs while they were on the phone with me.

    Friendly User. Easy to tract missed notes, the report gives the total picture of the business. The monthly fee really worth

    Cons

    It is best if they upgrade the balance of co-share. Some of our patient is not paying their co-insurance, it is best if they will include the balance of co-share in payment portion

    The software is very easy to use. WebPT has a lot of really great reports. Software is easy to set up and start using.

    Cons

    Support is awful, they do not answer timely. They do not answer correctly most often. they constantly charge wrong amounts each month for your bill, which is ACH and won't credit you until the next month and then forget to credit you.

    The best feature is that it was a start-up by a Physical Therapist who had an idea of EMR software specifically designed with the PT in mind

    Cons

    Very labor intensive to chart evaluations, progress reports, and especially daily notes. My staff and I had to spend an inordinate amount of time flipping through the pages to get anything done.
    Then they "nickel and dime" you for every new PT, student, staff member, feature, etc.

    This software is easy to use, easy to explain, and integrates well with our separate billing software. It automatically calculates the cap with associated MPPR rates which helps us keep track of the patient Medicare cap. The records are nicely formatted and you can tweek your settings to make documentation more efficient.

    Cons

    My biggest complaint about this product is having Medicare as a MSP. When Medicare is used secondary, it calculates the cap as if it were primary and does not allow therapists to enter the functional reporting G-Codes to their evaluations, recerts, etc. and this is an issue for our practice. We have reached out to WebPT and they could not suggest anything that would help, rather than something that would make it more confusing and our documentation less compliant. Hoping this becomes a feature in the near future as they are continually improving their software.

    WebPT is very user friendly. All new hires pick up the program fairly quickly - both administrative personnel and Physical Therapists. WebPT appointments are color coded which is extremely helpful for scheduling. There are several reports that we use frequently in our office - payment reports, Medicare cap reports, billing reports, etc. Patient accounts hold everything that our office needs: insurance details, prescription details, authorization details, and a place to scan documents.

    Cons

    Our biggest con with WebPT is that there is no excellent way to make sure that our patients do not get scheduled or seen past their authorization, visit, or prescription limit. There is a dashboard but we don't find that it works well nor is it efficient. Many patients don't show up on the report in the amount of time that we need to get authorization. We wish that WebPt would flag our front desk if they are scheduling an appointment beyond a limit that we have set up.

    Has all the updated ICD-10 coding for patient care. Code updates come often when changed are relieved.

    Cons

    Difficult to navigate. Hard to understand it's system fully. Need extensive tutorials and training in order to be able to comprehend software.

    It takes very long to document and a lot of redundancy. Also, the flowsheet is difficult to use and requires a bit of scrolling back and forth.

    The fact that the program is web based and everyone could use it everywhere. Also that it did not matter how many people were logged on at one time.

    Cons

    We like to see statistics (number of cancel, are most served given an address, etc). That's the only thing it doesnt seem to have. Also it more expensive for non for profit companies.

    Web Pt is intuitive and easy to use. It has exactly what we need without a lot of extra stuff that we don't. The analytics help us to know how our practice is really performing.

    Cons

    Web PT partners with Therabill for billing. It would be better if the billing was included in Web PT. Therabill is not as user friendly.

    I made it work for 7 years. It worked for my purpose.

    Cons

    Now they have pricing that bundles all of their services. I don't want all of the extras, I just want the basics. I chose to not use edocs and now all of the edocs I have stored in patient files since 2008 is not accessible !!!
