I've not had to use the customer service but there are lots of tutorials and blogs etc to give you new ideas on how to use it.

Pros

I use Evernote for everything. It has my whole life on it. I love the fact that I can search text in images and pdfs and I don't have to think about filing as put things into it as it is easy to find stuff by just searching a key word. I like to think I use tech in meetings but I just don't. I always end up writing notes. The beauty of Evernote is that I can scan the note in with my phone and the text is searcheable. It's pretty miraculous actually. I'm a lecturer and I have supervision tutorials where I open up evernote and create a note that I type directly into. I also write on a white board by hand and when I export that as a pdf, I can attach it to the evernote note and at the end I share the note by email with the student. I always have a full record of all my tutorials and can bring up a previous session's note to see if they have made progress. Honestly - it's brilliant.

Cons

I actually struggle to think of any negatives. I think the price is fine. I guess it's always a little shock when it comes out the bank on an annual basis but that's the best way of doing it.

I use it to keep track of work notes and interested web articles.

Pros

Evernote syncs across all your devices. You can also install an extension in the Windows Chrome browser to save webpages to evernote, which is useful if you want to keep track of things.

Cons

They recently changed their pricing scheme. Free users can now only have two devices logged in at a time.

Productivity through the roof with notes on the cloud!

I would recommend Evernote Free for persons who need organization and storage on the cloud, and Evernote Premium for users who need more space or who use Evernote very frequently (many times a day).

Pros

I love the effortless syncing of my notes between devices. I am always writing notes, and having them on the cloud means that I can access them anywhere; from the Evernote app on either my Android running Motorola phone or my IOS running iPhone, from the Evernote for Mac application on my Macbook Pro, or with Evernote’s online site on any device with an internet browser. The cloud storage has saved my back many times!

Cons

Like anything on the cloud, there are issues any time internet connectivity is lost. A few times when I was overseas without an internet connection for an extended period of time, I experienced incongruencies when my various devices re-synced. Fortunately, the Evernote Elephant had me covered, as it always saves both versions of any inconsistent note.

Pros

Evernote seems to be one of the bigger companies in the note-taking market. It is very easy to use and has a mobile app, desktop app as well as a webversion. They also have expanded to wearables too. Ability to tag and quickly search through all your notes is a nice feature as well.

Cons

I would like to see more formatting features in the note-taking section. Also, would like to see some templates for best practices in note taking.

I mostly use this for keeping track of random ideas and inspiration on the go. Also for grocery and other shopping and to do lists.

Pros

It's easy to organize notes into notebooks, and to share notes with other users. Having notes automatically sync to different devices and accounts is great. The interface is user friendly and generally easy to navigate.

Cons

It was a bit of a bummer when Evernote cut down on the number of devices that could be linked to a free account... but the software has continued to be useful to me nevertheless. I also personally find the web platform to be a lot easier to use than the Evernote app.

Evernote for Every Note

This product beats any other note taking tool I've used. It's easy to upload photos, easy to just type notes, easy to handwrite notes. The organization is really easy to. I've used it nearly ten years, and I expect I'll use it for ten more.

Pros

Evernote is my note system of choice. Before the advent of phone-specific or operating system-specific note tools, Evernote took over my note-taking life. Being able to access my notes anywhere and anytime is extremely helpful, and they've only continued to offer better features to support general note taking. The document scanner replaced my physical scanner, the attachments helps me keep related information together, and shareability is key to Evernote collaboration. The tool is my Swiss Army knife of notes.

Cons

I do not like that they changed their freemium design to only allow two synced devices. Honestly, the product is nearly perfect for free use except the more recently instituted two-device limit. While you can still access your notes from the web, anywhere, it's a hassle to not be able to have my laptop, mobile, and tablet all synced up.

Cant say goodbye to Evernote yet. It is free and holds much of my old data.

Pros

I like Evernote as I can so easily download notes on my iPhone to my Evernote App and that means that I have them stored safely in 2 places. Then I can bring up those notes and data on other devices. And it is free!

Cons

I do not have a huge amount of data space but then it is free. I find when I keep Evernote and Dropbox going I feel that my data is secure in two places. Do not like the actually dashboard as much as I like the simple Dropbox list of files and folders. The layout is a little confusing if you are not used to it.

Overall this is a great app which I use daily. Thank you for keeping it up to date with all the relevant needs for my business.

Pros

Works with all my devices (iPhone, android tablet, and PC) and syncs perfectly. I have looked for ways to setup a way to track my leads from initial call all the way through to contact. Being a small construction company it was difficult finding an app that could do this.

Cons

The reminder function is good but it would be great if I could attach a comment to the reminder as to what I want to do instead of having to look back at the notebook.

Switch to microsoft one note - it's free, great, and actually continues to innovate.

Pros

It's such an old app that it has integrations to many other enterprise apps like salesforce, gmail, chrome, and many others. Works well with scanning apps, and has a decent system for tagging notes.

Cons

UI is confusing and hasn't been updated for years. Evernote annoyingly keeps trying to push you to use Evernote workchat, which is a worthless app that nobody uses and is about 100% worse than sharing notes over email. Evernote webclipper is incredibly buggy and completely fails to clip web pages half the time.

Pros

Evernote helps you get organized. Works well on both Mac and PC. The app is great, too. It really helps me stay organized and lets me access my files quickly. The storage is fantastic. The basic (free) option is amazing. I'm not sure why they don't charge for this because it would still be worth paying something for it. The Web Clipper extension for Chrome is what I like most. Try it, you may never bookmark or snip again.

Cons

I've had a little trouble with the app, but never with the web version. That's fine for me, but the mobile app version has not been as functional for me.

Great for personal use. Don't bother with groups.

Pros

It was a great note-taking app and document organizer for my company. Tagging system is pretty good. It's also a bunch of great features.

Cons

The whole team would need to go through training to properly use Evernote. There's different organization systems, and if you don't spend hours training your team to use one system, then everyone will use a different mechanism.

The result: after a few months, it becomes a confusing organization. We had to hire a freelancer to organize our 2,000 notes, which we later abandoned and instead used Google Drive/Google Docs.

Sharing note files with team members. And having my notes available anywhere.

Pros

A shared notepad editor that is easily manageable by creating categories/folders to put your stuff in. I can access my files anywhere on any device. I can share my files with my team and we can collaborate together. Good for planning and sharing developer note with my team. After a meeting everyone can share their notes so that no one ends up missing something.

It has literally become my digital brain for anything I need to reference. I use it daily, either on my computer, phone or iPad and sometimes all three! I have recommended this software to many people and have helped several get it setup.

Pros

It is flexible and complete. Flexible in that you can set it up how you want. If it's hard for you to lose all your notebooks (folders) then you can still organize using notebooks, and sub-notebooks. Yet, the power of Evernote is that you tag each note with the main subjects for accurate searching. It is complete in that it is a "one-stop shop" for all notetaking. As a preacher, I use it to quickly make a note of a sermon idea. Later, I'll develop that sermon in Evernote and use it to preach from, as well. As a singer/songwriter, I click the record button when I get some inspiration and capture not only lyrics but audio within the same note! When I get an email with some information I need to store, I simply forward to Evernote. Or, I take a picture of a cool craft idea and store it for the future. I could go on... But, my point is Evernote becomes your complete digital filing system accessible on any device, anywhere and at any time.

The Evernote interphase it is very simple and intuitive, you can easily add notes, capture images, show an specific note, make a serie of labels to show exactly what you want to see and doing searching by notes or by notebooks. With Evernote you can virtually store anything you want in your device not matter that is temporary or for later use, but want you need it you can search and get what you need. Another issue has to be with the security of the information, all the activity inside the application it is safe with a SSL protocole, and the servers never save any of your password, that brings to user a big confidence using this app.

Cons

Maybe one of the principal limitations it is not direct related to the app but rather than the user, you can easily lost the control of your notes and files if you do not a little bit of organization with them. It is easily to manage one, two or ten notes, but what happen when you have hundreds of them, you have to take a bit of time to organize and improve the information that you have in your device.

It's simple. Clean. Neat. Easy to use. All the things that a great note-taking app should be.

Oh yeah, it also syncs between my devices -- so if I write something at work that I need to pull up at home, no worries!

Oh yeah, Evernote has quite powerful organization. Organize by creating a zillion notebooks for every possible sphere of your life, OR keep fewer notebooks and organize by tags. Brilliant.

Oh yeah, it also has the ability to keep all sorts of content -- attachments, images, text, audio, stuff clipped from the web, you name it.

Oh yeah, for writers... I've used Evernote quite a bit as a minimalist word processor, especially when I want to write in the coffee shop on my laptop, then come home and find that my document is waiting for me on my desktop. What's not to love?

Cons

Here's what's not to love: the freemium pricing model. While I LOVE the fact that I can use Evernote for free, I truly wish I could just pay a onetime fee instead of a monthly/yearly subscription. If you stick with the free version, you're limited to 2 devices, so forget about connecting your home computer, laptop, work laptop, iPhone and iPad.

With Evernote, you can get up and running and be taking notes very easily. Notes sync automatically, anywhere that you're signed in and the mobile app is very capable.

Cons

Tables are difficult to deal with, especially if you color code or shade them at all. You cannot work with columns outside of tables (like in a newspaper) and once you set an encryption phrase, it is impossible to change.

Pros

Evernote is a very practical app for collecting and organizing my thoughts. I use it both on mobile and desktop.

Cons

I would welcome to see more features in your text editor. Specifically, indent paragraphs and possibly converting my notes and notebooks into pdf, docx, and other formats.

Was able to modernize our order history from paper only in a filing cabinet to having digital records across different offices, facilities and states.

Pros

So very easy to drop attachments and photos into a note, to give greater detail to the things you want to remember. Also, the ability to email a note with all of it's particulars out, even to people that do not have Evernote. It is especially useful to have access across multiple devices; smartphone, tablet, laptop, web access.

Cons

You don't want to wait too long to sync notes across devices. It will take awhile and maybe stop responding if you have a couple thousand notes to synchronize.

I like to be able to save files or email content directly to my copy of the program. My favorite part of the program is the ability to share my document links with others even though they many not have the program.

Excellent organizing tool that keeps me on track. If you are an "ideas person", is the best.

Outstanding organizing tool.

Pros

The Evernote Clipper captures websites to be "read later" which allows you to easily organize important information that you come across. I combine Evernote with David Allen's Get Things Done. An excellent how-to article is the Secret Weapon.

Cons

There is a monthly limit on storage. Also, there is a learning curve. It is best to study strategies for using Evernote.
