I mostly use this for keeping track of random ideas and inspiration on the go. Also for grocery and other shopping and to do lists.

Pros

It's easy to organize notes into notebooks, and to share notes with other users. Having notes automatically sync to different devices and accounts is great. The interface is user friendly and generally easy to navigate.

Cons

It was a bit of a bummer when Evernote cut down on the number of devices that could be linked to a free account... but the software has continued to be useful to me nevertheless. I also personally find the web platform to be a lot easier to use than the Evernote app.

Evernote for Every Note

This product beats any other note taking tool I've used. It's easy to upload photos, easy to just type notes, easy to handwrite notes. The organization is really easy to. I've used it nearly ten years, and I expect I'll use it for ten more.

Pros

Evernote is my note system of choice. Before the advent of phone-specific or operating system-specific note tools, Evernote took over my note-taking life. Being able to access my notes anywhere and anytime is extremely helpful, and they've only continued to offer better features to support general note taking. The document scanner replaced my physical scanner, the attachments helps me keep related information together, and shareability is key to Evernote collaboration. The tool is my Swiss Army knife of notes.

Cons

I do not like that they changed their freemium design to only allow two synced devices. Honestly, the product is nearly perfect for free use except the more recently instituted two-device limit. While you can still access your notes from the web, anywhere, it's a hassle to not be able to have my laptop, mobile, and tablet all synced up.

So worth the little it costs.

Pros

I love simplicity. And I'm not naturally organized... Evernote keeps my piles of notes off my (physical) desk and it travels with me via phone, iPad, and borrowed tech, so when I need something I can find it.

Value for Money

Cant say goodbye to Evernote yet. It is free and holds much of my old data.

Pros

I like Evernote as I can so easily download notes on my iPhone to my Evernote App and that means that I have them stored safely in 2 places. Then I can bring up those notes and data on other devices. And it is free!

Cons

I do not have a huge amount of data space but then it is free. I find when I keep Evernote and Dropbox going I feel that my data is secure in two places. Do not like the actually dashboard as much as I like the simple Dropbox list of files and folders. The layout is a little confusing if you are not used to it.

I use it to keep track of all my notes from once device to another.

Pros

The free version is great to use if you don't have more than two devices. It's an easy way to keep track of interesting articles, grocery lists, and personal notes.

Cons

Syncing can sometimes take a little while, especially if you have a weak connection. Also, the free version limits the number of devices you can use.

Overall this is a great app which I use daily. Thank you for keeping it up to date with all the relevant needs for my business.

Pros

Works with all my devices (iPhone, android tablet, and PC) and syncs perfectly. I have looked for ways to setup a way to track my leads from initial call all the way through to contact. Being a small construction company it was difficult finding an app that could do this. Using the notebook in Evernote I have what other companies wanted $100.00 a month for at a fraction of the price and it works great.

Cons

The reminder function is good but it would be great if I could attach a comment to the reminder as to what I want to do instead of having to look back at the notebook.

Switch to microsoft one note - it's free, great, and actually continues to innovate.

Pros

It's such an old app that it has integrations to many other enterprise apps like salesforce, gmail, chrome, and many others. Works well with scanning apps, and has a decent system for tagging notes.

Cons

UI is confusing and hasn't been updated for years. Evernote annoyingly keeps trying to push you to use Evernote workchat, which is a worthless app that nobody uses and is about 100% worse than sharing notes over email. Evernote webclipper is incredibly buggy and completely fails to clip web pages half the time.

Pros

Evernote helps you get organized. Works well on both Mac and PC. The app is great, too. It really helps me stay organized and lets me access my files quickly. The storage is fantastic. The basic (free) option is amazing. I'm not sure why they don't charge for this because it would still be worth paying something for it. The Web Clipper extension for Chrome is what I like most. Try it, you may never bookmark or snip again.

Cons

I've had a little trouble with the app, but never with the web version. That's fine for me, but the mobile app version has not been as functional for me.

Overall this is by far the best way for creative people to index ideas. Have you ever written down an idea, created a melody, or taken a photo or video of something that inspired you only to be lost in the bottom of a note pad or photo album? Evernote will not only collect almost every medium you want to catalog, it allows you search and catalog them and even join ideas together that you never thought of.

Pros

Shares across all your devices. Search capabilities are incredible. It will even recognize text in photos.

Cons

They don't seem to listen to their community and take on some obvious feedback about color coding folders.

If you have a Mac, you need Evernote. My favorite feature is the elephant in the upper right corner that lets you open a new note with one click and start typing. I don't use post-its anymore. Absolutely love everything about Evernote. The only thing I'd change is to add the ability to archive notes.

Pros

Simple to use. Robust in features. Drag and drop images in and out. Take screenshots easily (I use this feature daily). Best in the business.

Cons

Needs the ability to archive a note. Otherwise, perfect.

Pros

In my opinion, Evernote is particulary good for catching lots of information you want to save for later use. The notes can be formed or "fine tuned" (annotating) in various ways to enhance their information retrieval. Available on many plattforms. Image annotation. Handy Search. Nice Web Clipper for cacheing websites.

Cons

In my opinion, Evernote has not yet made a very modern design choice! Pdf handling could be improved on to make it a better reader tool. A better connection between PDF and note taking would be awesome.

Evernote for Business has allowed my team seamless collaboration and note sharing. The scanning feature and the organizational power of the app allows us to keep our thoughts in order.

Pros

The user experience of Evernote is supremely designed. Whether you're using it on the Web, Desktop or Mobile, the design carries over and provides the user with continuity that simplifies use.

The note taking ability of Evernote is exceptional because it can be a bundle of text, photos, graphs or anything that is easily organized within the app. When stuck in a long meeting with a million ideas flowing, there's no better app to gather your thoughts and share with your team.

The scanning feature has saved us several times as well, this is one of the most underrated and useful features of the application and I'd be lost without it.

Cons

The price can get a little hefty with a large team. Our marketing and sales team is currently not too big so it's not a problem at the moment.

A great solution for taking quick notes especially on mobile environment.

Pros

This software thrives on mobile platforms allowing you to take notes quickly in a large number of formats and methods. You can organize these notes into team notebooks, personal notebooks or shared notebooks. They can include pictures, handwriting, pictures and files. They have clients available for the major mobile os's and Windows as well as Mac. For Linux there is the open source nix note client or the web client available. Evernote has enabled our team to collaborate in new ways and the chat features around notes are nice for sharing ideas. This is great system for mobile collaboration.

Cons

Lack of a official Linux client is disappointing but nix note works well. It is not a full office suite in it's editing capabilities.

Any useful notes and articles - on computer topics, everyday and so on and so forth. I saw something interesting on the Internet - copy the article into a note of the required notebook, and you can forget about it, because you will always find this note when you need it. By the way, for more convenient work with Internet articles there is a tool Evernote Clearly - it allows you to completely clear an article of all unnecessary design, read it on the site and / or save as a note Evernote.

Any information on the settings. For example, the settings of my home Internet (there at least it is necessary to expose the corresponding MAC-address - it was for a long time kept on a piece of paper in a desk drawer, and how many bitter words I pronounced when I had to look for this paper again), some Specific router settings (port forwarding) and so on.

Business cards of the most diverse people. I hate storing business cards, because among them you'll never find anything later. Now I have them in analog form and do not store them. I took a note, photographed the business card - and threw it out: Evernote indexed the data and I can then find this person even by name, even by last name, even by job title, even by company name.

Banking. Accounts of various people for whom I can transfer money for some reason or other, secure and coded information on some of my cards, my account data, data on some calculations and transfers (so that they can always be returned), and so on and so forth.

- The program is more "easy" than the OneNote mentioned, it requires much less operational memory

- The volume, which is provided for notes, is enough for everything, if not overload with photo and video content

- Works on all my devices (on a smartphone, laptop, any computer where Google Chrome is installed and I can log in)

- There is the possibility of limited access to files for other users - for general work. I tested it, but I do not use it - I just do not need it

Pros

+ large amount of memory
+ syncs on all devices
+ You can make almost any content
+ The ability to scan documents. A very useful function in those cases when you need a "copy", not a "picture". The difference is not visible!

Evernote allows you to make notes at any time, on the fly. You can note down a shopping llst or write a novel with it. You can also import or take photos via the app on a smart phone and store them in organised lists and notebooks. Evernote works works well as an app, or in a web portal or even a PC app. Individual notes can even be shared.

Cons

The new web interface can be slow, but can be speeded up by turning off text and picture previews. Notes also sometimes do not list properly and the web browser needs to be restarted.

Pros

Easy to install and setup then use. Easy administration management over all devices for all organisation users.

The notes and notebooks along with web and device clipping make organising easy for tasks and projects. I use it even for scheduling including my daily schedules.

The teaching tutorials for orientation to the product are well worth going through at least once, as they help greatly to learn the main features of Evernote.

Cons

Some account features are difficult to access and manage. The learning takes a few minutes if you're new to task-management oriented organisation software.

Collaboration, communication, convenience, and ease of sharing documents and notes for my freelance writing business.

Pros

Evernote enables me to communicate with other writers and clients with ease. It is better than Google Docs because you don't need to share links and you can easily just share in the app and select who can see your notes. I also use private notes to jot down to do tasks and other such things like ideas I get for stories. Sharing thoughts and documents is incredibly easy and convenient. Allows me to create calendar tasks for myself and others too.

Cons

It can be hard to locate some tools so there is a learning curve with this software. Document editing is a nightmare on this at times.

Evernote helps you with everything in life. It does more than I can ever think of. Watch You tube videos on how to get the most out of your evernote experience.

Pros

I love the amazing search features. The search feature can scan images for words. Also the tagging feature is helpful for organization.

Cons

At times the syncing can get a little hairy. When I work on a project on evernote desktop and have the same project open on evernote Ipad it will not always know which copy to save and sync other to. But, I have only ran into this once or twice and it is easy to avoid.

Pros

The organization of notes into workbooks is very tidy and helps not to lose a single bit of your work.

Cons

I'd like a possibility to embed videos and other media directly in the notes. This would be useful in companies which relies on this type of files daily.

Pros

It's easy to use and really helps keep all my various projects organized. I love that I can access and update project items from different devices.

Cons

Sometimes there are difficulties with syncing across devices. It can be frustrating when I go into a project on one device and realize it didn't update from changes made on another device.
