Necessary Tool for Organizing a Messy Inbox

Simply a powerful and elegant tool that has a quick learning curve to make organizing your thoughts easy.

Pros

Love the functionality to attach, embed, or view many types of different files. The security features of automatically redacting or hiding passwords or sensitive information is useful. I use this every day to keep my inbox fresh and organized and backed up just in case of a shut down

Cons

Sometimes it seems like there may be too many features available, making it a little difficult to find certain capabilities that you need regularly. Nevertheless - a good problem to have.

Evernote for everything

Pros

Evernote is a great application for taking notes, clipping websites and being able to access your content on any platform or system. It has extensions for every browser that asked you to access whatever your documents from anywhere.

Cons

The one issue that I have had with everybody m Evernote is the limited space that it provides initially. It's easy to fill up quickly when you use it everyday.

Great for Organizing Notes

I have to take a lot of notes in my line of work to keep my customer's organized and so I can remember which customers need what and where their business is in our pipeline. Evernote makes it easy to keep them all in one place.

Pros

I love that I can create notebooks and share them among my different devices. I have a desktop, laptop and phone and I love that I can access my notes no matter what device I'm using. You can share notes with your colleagues and also search notes. This makes it easy if I forget what note I put in which folder.

Cons

You do have to keep it organized otherwise you can sometimes lose where your notes are stored or which notebook they are in, but there is a search option so you can always search them as well, which is really nice.

The only way to take notes

With Evernote, I can easy find any note I've taken and I never have to worry about not being able to locate a note.

Pros

The best thing about Evernote is never having to hit save and being able to use keyword search to look through all notes. It's so much easier than taking notes by hand or using notepad or Word.

Cons

Nothing, this is great software for note taking.

We use Evernote everyday for our business!

Love Evernote. Its easy to use and fairly inexpensive.

Pros

We like Evernote because we can do research on the Internet and then upload it to Evernote to share projects and ideas. Its nice that you can share with fellow employees and other private parties.

Cons

Sometimes uploading can be an issue. I don't know if it's a network connection issue or a software issue. Also, sometimes it will upload items and then when I quit the project the items disappear.

Never too many notes

I use this program all day long. I can make notes, add pics create How-To's and share anything with anyone.

Pros

This software is easy to use, not only in a team/business environment but for personal use as well.

Cons

Not exactly a standard. Everyone uses all kinds of methods and software to make and manage notes getting a centralized area for all notes is difficult to accomplish.

Very good for research and reference collection

Pros

Easy to store information from different sources due to wide range of integration points. Search function supported in PDF, Word and handwritten notes.

Cons

You can not define complex search criteria.

When you’re at the document level you can’t access your favorites or a global search with one click

What started out Gold... fizzled into dust...

I realized that the process that we were trying to compensate for by utilizing the platform (group think) was something that was otherwise easily done on software that was not as clunky. Evernote outdated itself somehow, when it began chasing other models instead of it's own.

Pros

I enjoyed the original ease of community sharing and the ability to drop, swap, and modify as desired among a group. That quickly became old school when other apps and mods made it obsolete and seem bumbled.

Cons

The ridiculous amount of heavy updating that was happening was, in my mind, unnecessary. It made the system even more bogged down, and caused it to become more useless. Why not just seamlessly find a simpler way to become the original once more?

Great for personal use, ok for business

Pros

Evernote has always been my goto app for organizing my personal information. It works well and has loads of features for storing all different types of data.

Cons

From a business perspective, we couldn't get employees to use this and maintain any kind of organization that made sense for other employees to easily browse/find what they needed (like we have with more wiki-like solutions like confluence)

Great potential

Pros

The features of the program are great! Really functional if you know what you're doing

Cons

I find it takes some time to get used to the software. There is a bit of a learning curve. But if you put time into understanding the program, you can accomplish a LOT with it.

Keeps me Sane

Pros

I love the ability to clip things from the internet and organize them with my thoughts. As a creative professional, this software has changed the game for me. I'm much more organized and find that I remember more random ideas because I took the time to catalog them!

Cons

I really cannot say enough good things about Evernote. I recommend trying it and seeing if it's worth the price to purchase the full version.

Good place to save your notes

It is dynamic and functional, allows you to save data to access from anywhere and even share your notes with other people.

Pros

I love that you can use it in all types of annotations, save web links, have different accounts, send notes by mail, add images, etc. incredibly useful to have everything at hand.

Cons

It is a bit slow when you want to synchronize, but overall is great!

Frustrating

Pros

Evernote seemed, from its advertisements, like a great relief in the varied note taking world for a college student. It has a better interface for note taking than Word since it is specifically designed for it.

Cons

I never used it past the free trial because I did not want to pay to write my notes (seemed silly). Even though it may have a better interface, why pay to take notes?

Great product but has steep competition with the google suite

Pros

I love Evernote and started out using evernote before ever diving into Google docs. I still love and use the app, though it's no longer my number one app. It depends what you need it for and what kind of sharing capabilities and syncing you need. It's great for small teams and personal use. If your team is not on google docs than this may be an awesome choice for your team. Clean and intuitive user interface.

Cons

Love the app but I've started using it less simply because I'm using google documents more. I use this app more for personal work.

Essential Tool I Now Can't Live Without!

Great tool that I use for both business, and personal needs. I scan every receipt, document, prescription, etc. and has saved me many times!

Pros

Very easy to stay organized and keep documents in an easy to share, and accessible place. I use it for receipts, contracts, memberships, and all other important paperwork (It's amazing how much paper still accumulates). The search function is amazing, and allows you to search receipts and documents for anything contained in them - term, product etc. The offline sync and sharing capabilities are also invaluable.

Cons

Sometimes the image function doesn't work properly, but no real complaints.

Great tool for taking notes

Pros

I liked using Evernote Business because of its simplicity and the ability to access it, regardless of the device I can use in a given period of time. Managed quickly enough to learn.

Cons

Notifications come to me every time I use the software. On Android, it is much more convenient to use it than on devices that run on iOS.

Evernote Business

Pros

I liked the ability to share documents, to clip website links and share them amongst the team, to collaborate and annotate on PDFs.

Cons

Search features could be better. It will occasionally show you too many search results for a relatively complex search query.

Great to take notes

Pros

With this software, I can quickly write excellent notes not only from my computer, but also using a mobile device. I like the fact that you can easily embed different files into Evernote Business.

Cons

It took me a long time to study all the available features. In some cases, PDF files show previews automatically, and sometimes they are not displayed.
