RentRedi allows simple access for Rent collection, communication platform, marketing for vacancy. Cons: It does take about 5 to 6 days for Rent Redi to collect funds and then deposit those funds into my account. I wish this was a shorter time frame. Reasons for choosing RentRedi It was recommended to my by another Property Manager. After setting up my properties to self-manage, I found that it was difficult to set up charges. Thankfully, despite some of those difficulties, after speaking with phone support the problem was promptly resolved. I have not tried any of the features to communicate with tenants, nor any of the expense tracking/accounting, but I hope to get to those once everything it set up and running with rent collection. However, I recently experienced a serious issue where $3,200 in rent payments was stolen after someone gained unauthorized access to my account and redirected the funds. While I understand that RentRedi uses Stripe as a third-party processor, the fact that this could happen without any alert other than an email that says “you changed my rentredi despot account.” I value the convenience that RentRedi offers, but security is non-negotiable when it comes to managing tenants' payments and sensitive financial data. I urge RentRedi to implement stronger required not optional protections, like multi-factor authentication or real time phone alerts for changes to bank account information. Landlords and tenants deserve peace of mind when using this platform. And give a guarantee of funds if your platform gets hacked.
