Overall simple system to use, coming from someone who transitioned from a more complex system previously. Very simple to understand and teach to clinicians to use. Good customer service, and reports that come in handy. Only downfall is certain functions (such as not allowing one clinician to close multiple visits for the same time and patient signature) is not in the system as of yet but they are always doing updates which is nice.

I know that each person have their own preference, but AXXESS is the best software out there today. I have used other software programs before, but I chose AXXESS for our agency simply because the system is user friendly and the people we dealt with from AXXESS provided us with excellent customer service. From the very beginning when we were inquiring down to the training and implementation to the present day, AXXESS customer service team never failed to impress. They were all very professional yet makes you feel comfortable and relaxed while handling your business. And the company never stopped in moving forward with its innovation and staying up to date with the technology while implementing compliance to all the changes in the field of home healthcare. This is what makes AXXESS the best software that is out there today.

The software does have functionality and interfaces nicely via your computer. I would more instructional videos on using an iPad and iPhone in greater depth.

Pros

The fact that you can do your notes on the computer is helpful.

Cons

Need Spell check grammar check interfacing better with iOS products. Medicare templates check off list so you don't miss anything. Make operation easier have example notes for mental health psychiatry which is an up-and-coming area in home healthcare.

Advice to Others

I pad is the wave of the future RN don't want to use a laptop anymore. The ease of doing a note while seeing a patient would be most convenient. Make a template that addresses the issues of psych in ALF setting which covers all of Medicare's requirements. If it all could be dictated this also would be helpful.

The system has some flaws as do most systems. But the system is not geared to grow with your company. It is an ok system to start with. But the communication from this company about follow up on requests, changes made to the system and changes in their policies does not exsist!

Pros

Easy to use/user friendly. Cost is reasonable compared to some other companies.

Cons

Not good at notifying people of changes made to the system. They have a help section that you can refer to if you think to do it. It would be helpful if they sent out an email introducing the changes and then refer to the help tab for more details. If you put in a request for a change, they write it down but it never gets done/never notified when it has been completed. They recently stopped giving help to the billing people without any notice. Because they opened their own billing and want people to use them. I can totally understand that, but the decent thing to do would have been to send out a COMMUNICATION to their customers that this was going to happen giving them a chance to either sign up with them or find other support. It is because of this we are looking for another company to work with.

Advice to Others

If you are looking for a company that is good at communicating this is not the company! If you are looking for a company that is reasonably priced and easy to use then this is for you. But be ware you will out grow it and they are not good at customizing the system for you.

Good product. CAN be easy to use if trained. Knowledge always is the solution. THE support team has always been helpful and solved my problem or coached me through the solution they are always a 10 and always pleasant.

Rebecca Mason is wonderful, she is my go to person all the time at Axxess, I truly miss that she is not there everyday. She helps me with everything, from Oasis to reports. She always calls back, not like others. I only call on the days is she working. I use Axxess Agencycore and DDE all day, everyday. I love not having to go into the black screen...Axxess DDE is great, a lifesaver!!!!

My main responsibility is reporting, what I hope to see soon is AD Hoc reporting option. So that you can make reports specific to your companies needs.

I was a national accreditation and certification surveyor for more than 7 years and in that time had experienced many different software programs for home health and hospice. I believe that AXXESS is at the top of the list.

However, being new some areas I need to learn and/or wished they were already available are: 1. templates entered, 2. goals to be set as individualized and measurable and NOT 'by end of episode'. 3.. Not having to enter signature. 4. Less entry screens for employee notifications. (HospiceMD's is more user friendly).

Pros

1. information is easily accessible and readily available i.e. not buried so far into the software that it is virtually impossible to find.
2. User friendly for staff - not too many clicks to get where need to go.
3. scheduling easy
4. QA excellent re: compliance etc.

Cons

Too many screen entries for employee maintenance.

I feel that the software is user friendly, needs to be updated, especially the therapy for the 13, 19 day assessments. Fed. gov removed that two years ago. I would tweek a few things to make it easier for billing personnel. Overall it is one of the best softwares I have used since 1985 for Home Health.

I absolutely could not do my job without it. The reports are great, getting the HHCAHPS info ready to send it so simple, as is billing, etc. VERY USER FRIENDLY!! Even my home health aides that had no experience with computers learned it pretty quickly and easily. Axxess has been very helpful to me and my staff whenever we have problems we can't figure out. Generally it's a user error, not anything Axxess has done.

They have a place under the help section where people can type out issues, etc., but they don't seem to be answered very timely and personally, I probably wouldn't use it at all because I just pick up the phone and call to get instant help.

Recommendations

Talk to people face to face or via phone who are currently using the product to ask questions. I think that actually talking to another HHA who is using it would be very helpful.
