I've spoken with many, many reps at Axxess. I find that a few individuals stand out and those at Axxess need to be reminded of this.

They are the vital part of the Axxess team. He's proactive, and he doesn't quit until he completes the task at hand. Also, if he can't answer a question, or feels someone else is more qualified to answer; he finds THE most qualified person and gets them to address the customer. My experience with Axxess wouldn't be the same without him.

In the billing department is the go-to person for billing related concerns. He's a straight shooter and I appreciate that very much. He's a master at a identifying the specific issue that needs to be addressed and determining what measures can be taken to address it.

The representative knows homecare all the way around. She's very down to earth and honest. Give her a scenario and she'll tell you how she's solved it in the past; why? because she's seem them all.

Finally, (mobile app development). He's is there to make the Axxess technology work for people in real world situations. He is also well-versed in all areas and able to put the pieces together to determine what the customer requires and expects when interacting with Axxess.

Axxess is the BEST homecare software, hands down, period.
As with any other software that tends to multiple customers with distinct needs, the staff at Axxess have their hands full trying to make everyone "happy."
This is the key.

***Making the correct options available to those who need them while being extremely careful and thoughtful as to what options impact EVERYONE.
This is the Axxess conundrum, and it's apparent that the staff at Axxess work hard every day to get one step closer to solving it.***

Axxess administrative staff, GET YOUR PENS OUT, the following list is from a staff of individuals who live and breathe Axxess every day.
The following issues are in order from what we have determined to be most significant to least significant.
I have personally brought these issues up on more than 25 occasions with reps at Axxess; still no change to date.

What's missing from Axxess?
• The ability to search Axxess Messages. Without this feature the Axxess Messaging Center is almost useless to larger companies who rely on the ability to locate vital information. This should be a simple fix and I know that many, many customers have requested this improvement... PLEASE ACT!
• Billing - Axxess DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY to tell a medical biller HOW MUCH money they are billing.... This sounds ridiculous, right? Software's 10 years ago were able to predict the billed amount to the penny! Axxess has a very poor system of estimating the amount payable. Remember, if numbers are unreliable, they might as well not even exist. ADD LUPA'S AND OUTLIERS into the "claim amount." Essentially, every time I bill a batch of claims with Axxess, I'm given a "claim amount" that is COMPLETELY WRONG. What am I told when I call? "Well, you can determine how much you'll be paid once you get paid...."
Really? Fix this!
• Double dates - Having 2 dates for each task achieves complete confusion for new staff who are beginning to learn Axxess. Give us the ability to turn off scheduled and actual visits.... Or.. give us the ability to make them match... or... show both dates in the patient chart! in other words, add a column for actual dates. Seeing dates that are all incorrect does nothing but confuse everyone. This issue is so prevalent that I am required to spend 10 minutes explaining to each new staff member why Axxess chose to have 2 dates for each task..... They always respond with looks of complete confusion.
• When staff completes an OASIS they should be able to see the prior answers to M00's on the current OASIS. Simple but effective. Homecare agencies have a serious focus on outcomes. What better way to improve outcomes than to SHOW US that we report progress or decline with each M00 response.

Finally, COMMUNICATION
• Axxess staff are ALWAYS aware of the issues going on with Axxess customers. I could list 10 issues that effected all homecare agencies and Axxess never sent one word out to customers to announce or explain the issues.

• DK to DN (made ALL of my claims deny.. Axxess knew about it... yet didn't inform me or anyone else)
• Copying the Treatment Authorization code to to the Authorization box (made ALL of my claims deny.. Axxess knew about it... yet didn't inform me or anyone else)

I could go on and on...
• STOP SENDING important updates to ADMINISTRATOR'S ONLY! A lot of Administrators don't even log in to Axxess but once a month... If you're going to have a section that shows updates that have occurred USE IT!

"RECENT SOFTWARE UPDATES".... ours currently shows that the last update was on December 29th, 2016.... Really? Today is Feb 16th, 2017. So this software hasn't had a single update in a month and a half? Yet I KNOW of specific updates that have been made since Dec. 29th. Oh... you sent notice to the Administrator? Great... now I really have no way of ever knowing... Why would you send this message to ONLY ONE PERSON.... this makes absolutely no sense at all, FIX IT!


Advice to Others

If you need a software for homecare... Axxess is the best. I say this with years of experience and having used multiple software types.

The reports allow you to assess the employee's performance in line to follows their interventions and compliance with patients treatment, documentation and regulation compliance.

Axxess more "user-friendly" for my nurses who do not have much computer charting experience. We have much less paper to handle or shred, and Axxess has made our office workflow much smoother.

Pros

Ease of use, chart layout is basic and simple to access.

Cons

Must have internet connectivity to chart.

Advice to Others

Compare Axxess with other programs, and I am sure you will discover that Axxess is very intuitive and easy to use.

I love the multi-window feature. This is a fabulous feature that I use quite often even to the point were I want to go beyond the 8 window limit, since I tend to multi-task and get sidetrack every so often. Plus it allows me to pause where I am at without loosing my spot. The amount of service compared to the amount of money paid each money is worth it. I don't think you can find anything else that compares at such an affordable rate.

Pros

The activity report is great for keeping track on our employees productivity and being able to know if/when they are starting their paperwork.

Cons

My QA does not like the new QA center; however for those new to the product it wouldn't make a difference since they would be learning it the new way already.

Advice to Others

Give Axxess a try. I know that they are always willing to work with new customers during a transition from a previous software and their pricing tiers are very affordable wherever you're at with your census.

Overall simple system to use, coming from someone who transitioned from a more complex system previously. Very simple to understand and teach to clinicians to use. Good customer service, and reports that come in handy. Only downfall is certain functions (such as not allowing one clinician to close multiple visits for the same time and patient signature) is not in the system as of yet but they are always doing updates which is nice.

I know that each person have their own preference, but AXXESS is the best software out there today. I have used other software programs before, but I chose AXXESS for our agency simply because the system is user friendly and the people we dealt with from AXXESS provided us with excellent customer service. From the very beginning when we were inquiring down to the training and implementation to the present day, AXXESS customer service team never failed to impress. They were all very professional yet makes you feel comfortable and relaxed while handling your business. And the company never stopped in moving forward with its innovation and staying up to date with the technology while implementing compliance to all the changes in the field of home healthcare. This is what makes AXXESS the best software that is out there today.

The software does have functionality and interfaces nicely via your computer. I would more instructional videos on using an iPad and iPhone in greater depth.

Pros

The fact that you can do your notes on the computer is helpful.

Cons

Need Spell check grammar check interfacing better with iOS products. Medicare templates check off list so you don't miss anything. Make operation easier have example notes for mental health psychiatry which is an up-and-coming area in home healthcare.

Advice to Others

I pad is the wave of the future RN don't want to use a laptop anymore. The ease of doing a note while seeing a patient would be most convenient. Make a template that addresses the issues of psych in ALF setting which covers all of Medicare's requirements. If it all could be dictated this also would be helpful.

The system has some flaws as do most systems. But the system is not geared to grow with your company. It is an ok system to start with. But the communication from this company about follow up on requests, changes made to the system and changes in their policies does not exsist!

Pros

Easy to use/user friendly. Cost is reasonable compared to some other companies.

Cons

Not good at notifying people of changes made to the system. They have a help section that you can refer to if you think to do it. It would be helpful if they sent out an email introducing the changes and then refer to the help tab for more details. If you put in a request for a change, they write it down but it never gets done/never notified when it has been completed. They recently stopped giving help to the billing people without any notice. Because they opened their own billing and want people to use them. I can totally understand that, but the decent thing to do would have been to send out a COMMUNICATION to their customers that this was going to happen giving them a chance to either sign up with them or find other support. It is because of this we are looking for another company to work with.

Advice to Others

If you are looking for a company that is good at communicating this is not the company! If you are looking for a company that is reasonably priced and easy to use then this is for you. But be ware you will out grow it and they are not good at customizing the system for you.

Rebecca Mason is wonderful, she is my go to person all the time at Axxess, I truly miss that she is not there everyday. She helps me with everything, from Oasis to reports. She always calls back, not like others. I only call on the days is she working. I use Axxess Agencycore and DDE all day, everyday. I love not having to go into the black screen...Axxess DDE is great, a lifesaver!!!!

My main responsibility is reporting, what I hope to see soon is AD Hoc reporting option. So that you can make reports specific to your companies needs.
