Sevocity is recommended to solo and small group practices seeking an Internet-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The system was designed to streamline the documentation and patient care process so that both practitioners and office staff can deliver quality care. 

Sevocity's graphical user interface can adapt to the workflow of a practice. The solution itself is offered in the SaaS model.

Sevocity is currently used by practices in over 30 specialties and offers specialized features for OB/GYN and Pediatrics. The system’s content and features can be customized to meet the workflow of solo and small group practices in a number of other specialties, including internal medicine, community health centers, pain management and more.

Sevocity EHR is ONC 2014 Edition compliant, and many EHR features are included at no additional charge - including ePrescribing, eFaxing, a patient portal, customization assistance, web training and 24/7/365 US-based customer support.

I like the fact that everything is there right in front of you and it is easy to navigate.

There is no notification when you get a "message" from the staff or pateints.

Recommendations

The best advice that I can give is to just jump in and get a feel for the product for yourself and see just how user friendly it is.

Loading can take longer at times and I wish there was an option to make a tone sound when a message is received.

Up until recently- this last week, the system was portable. Now I have had a difficult time logging on from home because of the recent changes

Nothing; very good system. Only problem we had was last week when we had too many users on system and w/the upgrade we were down for a few hours.

It is easy to navigate. Vendor has usually been quick to respond to questions, and to update me on solutions.

There is no way to see who a message is routed to once it is sent, or to recall it. The medication portal connection is not always smoothly integrated. There is no way to see the original prescription that was sent once it has been sent (including release dates). The medication history is hard to navigate: medication is not chronologically listed, so if the patient has had the same medication prescribed twenty times, you must search through all of them to find the prescription date you need. There was one issue that I spoke with a Sevocity tech support member about, and was told that I would hear back, but I have yet to receive a response (2-3 months later); however, the issue seems to have been resolved.

Recommendations

If you want a simple system that is easy to learn and use, Sevocity is great. It makes some things very easy, but other things are completely impossible within the system, so be aware that with simplicity comes some limitations.

Easy access to medical records. Ease of the software.

I dislike the messaging system within Sevocity. Unless you copy yourself within the message, you have no way of keeping track what you messaged another person. It makes it confusing when you receive a response to a message you sent a week ago,

I do not like not being able to print only one page. You have to download the whole file just to print one page within the file.

Recommendations

I strongly recommend viewing the easy access to medical records; it's basically at your finger tips at the click of a button.

It gives our doctors some ability to customize chart layout to fit our practice specialty

Initial account set up was not electronic but had to printed out and sent back rather than ability to fill in fields and return electronically. Vendor trainer schedule seemed somewhat limited to accommodate physician schedule.

It would be nice if both our practice management system and EHR were one in the same rather than logging into 2 separate systems. Also, it would be beneficial to be able to have both an open encounter and phone message as needed for one chart.

Recommendations

Look into the ability to customize the system to your needs and what you are needing it to do. Also, address whether or not you want to see both billing information and medical records in 1 system or if 2 will work.

I wish that there was an option to allow a sound to be played whenever there is a new notification such as "patient in room 1"

As a nurse I was weary about swapping from paper charting to EMR, but with the training courses and just playing around with the product, I learned that it was so much more simple than expected. The thing that most helped me was just diving into the system and creating test patients to practice with.

Severity offers excellent support, and after a relatively short instruction and time to become acquainted with the program, we have become facile with its use and very comfortable with our new EHR.
