UpKeep is a cloud-based integrated computerized maintenance management (CMMS) and enterprise asset management (EAM) solution that provides businesses functionalities to manage their assets and facilities.

The solution is accessible via desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones and is suitable for maintenance departments with multiple technicians consistently working in the field.

UpKeep offers core maintenance functionality, such as asset, inventory and work order management and preventive maintenance to create service schedules. Users can see a tasks overview page showing upcoming work along with due dates, criticality and assets or workers assigned to each. When adding new tasks, users can include notes, a color-coded priority rating, images, assets and users.

The mobile application gives users the ability to create projects, assign work orders, manage assets and more. UpKeep is designed for small to midsize companies across various industry verticals.

UpKeep offers services on a monthly subscription basis that includes support via phone, email and through an online knowledge base.

This app has been a great tool for my small business! Instead of sorting and dealing with paperwork that related to work orders, our maintenance manager is able to easily access data on our assets through the neatly organized tabs and simple interface. I love being able to prioritize certain work orders and review costs and additional reports. So far I have not experienced any glitches and the biweekly updates always seem to make the app run more smoothly. I would highly recommend this app.

Cons

However, there the ease of use of the app is pretty low. In the beginning, I had a little bit of a hard time navigating the app, but after a couple of use, I got the hang of it!

Best way to track your tenants requests and progress.

Pros

Tenants can easily send over their work orders or maintenance requests without the need of having to call in to report it which often times can create an unfavorable moment. Customer service is great and they quickly and easily walk you through and explain the process of whatever you need to learn or be trained on.

Cons

As any program it can take just a little bit to learnt he software and how to use it all towards to everyday need. Once it is learned it is very rare that you will need to consult a customer service rep to help you with anything.

Cons

There are still times when the app or website acts up. Recently, one of the team member could not log in for a few days. There are time where I can't accept a request from my computer but I can from the app. Still a little buggy.

At a former employer, we used a similar work order system that had half the features of UpKeep, and twice the cost. I was amazed to discover how much we got for so little.

Pros

The biggest pro is the functionality. All of our inventory, work orders, assets, schedules, and meters are all included in one app. The account setup is very flexible and affordable. Customer Support responds instantly and resolves any issue that arises, though few issues have occurred.

Cons

When the product was new, there were a few issues with training staff to use it. As the product developed, it became easier for our techs to navigate. Other than initial training, we haven't had any problems.

A functional CMMS that has a smooth interface with its desktop version and mobile app.

Pros

The mobile interface is by far my favorite feature. We had used other CMMS companies before and always ran into the same problem: the mobile interface. They would claim to have a great mobile website but it was always clunky and difficult to use, especially for people who might not be too proficient with computers (i.e. mechanics, operators, most of the people that would be using the software). However, Upkeep roped me in immediately when they said it was a mobile-first CMMS. Upkeep delivers, with a simple interface that is intuitive to anyone that has used a smartphone before.

Cons

The Meter based work order triggers do not work as I had wished. I wanted Work Orders to generate when the engine hours hit every 250, 500, 1000, 1500, and 2000 hours. For example, at 750 hours, a 250 hour and 500 hour Work Order would generate. However, when I set all of this up, It would generate about 5 work orders for the asset whenever I entered its meter reading.

As a manager, I can see which properties are struggling and where we need to send help. UpKeep has allowed us to reference old work orders for specific units in order to better solve future problems.

Users and technical users can submit and check status of tickets from anywhere, the phone app for mobility is especially helpful for both the requesters and the technicians.

Cons

Doesn't automatically email notify requester of the current status of the UpKeep work order ticket. Would be fantastic if this feature was included to notify user of when the ticket status of In Progress, On Hold, or Closed and include the technicians update comments.

It is simple to use, has been a great tool for teaching students how a CMMS system is used. Even though after school is over and the students go to work a their first job they may not use UpKeep but they will understand the concept, and be able to adapt to the plants system, much better than if they had not had any experience with UpKeep

The efficiency of our Field Techs is the number one benefit. I can gain an insight on the time he is spending at the location, how many jobs they completed, etc. On their end, they love it because they can see the task clearly and see where to go by using the built in map.

Pros

The overall functionality is excellent. Our Field Techs never had any problems timing their work and finding the location by using the built in map.

The biggest con, at least in our case, the scheduling. Believe it or not, in most cases we need to schedule a job at for example 9:30 AM. There are only options for a full hour.

Everything we were looking at was clunky, until we saw UpKeep. It's been so easy to delegate work orders, we've been seeing a significant increase in uptime.

Cons

It could be more customizable but I know they just introduced additional features to make that possible.
