Practice Pro is a fully integrated, web-based medical solution for outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy practices. The suite of applications offered includes Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Medical Billing Software, and Patient Scheduling Software. The platform also comes with built-in BI tools, multiple reporting templates, and a customizable KPI dashboard. Medical billing services are also available as an add-on to practices that decide to use PT Practice Pro.

Practice Pro offers scheduling features that allow doctors and staff members to schedule appointments, prioritize appointments based on the criticality of medical situations and send automated reminders to doctors and patients. The solution helps medical facilities to comply with various data and medical standards including HIPAA, ICD 10, PQRS and CPT Codes 2015.

Practice Pro billing solution allows medical facilities to configure their billing process and streamline the claim settlement process. The solution also offers few add-on modules including referral management, advanced analytics and reporting, clinical fax module and home exercise protocols (HEP) module, among others. Practice Pro is recommended for practices with five or more providers and is also a great fit for multi-location enterprise practices.

Finicky but Functional

Pros

The evaluation/re-evaluations area allows for modular additions to allow a high customization without having to freehand. The daily notes for practitioners allow a focus on the interventions without having to change tabs to address input for the SOAP section.

Cons

Often timely as the page requires frequent reloading in order to make additions, not the fastest software I've ever used.

Pros

Streamlined process - relatively easy to learn. Ease of accessing notes and preparing to bill was worth the cost! Great customer support too.

Cons

Some coding issues, but that seems to be part of the process. I've struggled to find a billing solution that is best for SLP's.

Transition issues

Not necessarily the fault of Practice Pro, just not the right time for our practice to implement a new software.

Pros

We demo'd this software as a potential to replace our current billing software: SOAPware. the interface seemed clean but we were not in a place to undertake another software transition on this size.

Cons

We had just finished transitioning from eClinicalworks as our EMR provider and our practice was not positioned to undertake another major software transition.

We use PT billing for our office's billing.

Pros

It works very well with our office and integrates well with our EHR software. We haven't had any problems with them since it was installed.

Cons

The setup process took a little more time than I thought it would. We had to spend a fair amount of time waiting to get everything complete.

PT Practice Pro is very thorough and easy to work with

Pros

My favorite feature is being able to access multiple accounts as well as having multiple windows open at one time. It is great for a multi-tasker like myself which saves me a lot of time.

Cons

It was a bit hard to learn the features but once you're well trained it is easy to use and support was excellent in helping.

Very thorough!

PTpracticePro has gone a long way to ensure compliance with authorization reminders, simplifying flowsheets and daily notes, and improving reimbursement through proper coding!

Pros

Great customer support, always available to take questions, able to walk you through most anything that comes up, never impatient no matter how many times I contact them with questions. :-)

Cons

Not having all of patient chart info(demographics, physician, and patient notes/evals) on one page.

Easy to work with

At this juncture, we've agreed this is PROBABLY the EMR software we'll select. We like the UI. It wasn't our first choice but after looking at 10 different EMR systems we narrowed it down to two. Overall this was a better fit. Taken into consideration was: The UI The features and benefits The reports The billing package The report writing The Provider access

Working with Charles and Sanjay has been great. Super responsive from the first moment we called them. Everything we've asked for they've responded with an answer very quickly.

Cons

It may not be as easy for us to compile our own custom reports. We'll have to wait and see.

PT Practice Pro Support is fabulous

Pros

We love the support team at PT Practice Pro. The software is intuitive, user friendly, and provides fantastic reporting. We are still learning PT Practice Pro. Like all software it has little idiosyncrasies - but the team at PT Practice Pro are refining this product constantly and they listen to their customers. The people at PT Practice Pro are very responsive and very helpful in working with us and helping learn the ropes.

We're so happy we chose PT Practice Pro

Pros

They helped us through every step of our transition from our previous practice management software which was incredibly challenging. Their tech support has been superb and their responses efficient and fast. They have been able to meet our needs even to the point of creating new reporting functions for us to better manage and assess our business. We couldn't be more satisfied or relieved in the choice we made with PT Practice Pro. Additionally, it being a cloud-based program has been an immeasurable improvement over our previous vendor.

Cons

Our biggest challenge has been for the staff to get used to the changes from our old system but that isn't a complaint about the system so much as an observation about how difficult it can be to get used to something new, even when it is better in nearly every way.

So far, so good.

Pros

We like the ability to customize this software to meet the needs of our clinic. We like that we can add all of our fee schedules for different insurance companies, thus giving us what our actual receivables will be instead of what we billed. That was the major selling point for us.

Cons

It seems that they need more employees to do customer service. The initial setup period is a bit extensive, but in the end, it helps to get the system customized to what you want. Expect to have your team ready to help set everything up. Plus, we were unaware that the monthly billing is lumped together for three months, and you are required to pay this in advance. The yearly service fee is also asked for in advanced.

Not only is PT Pro an efficient document storage and billing system, it makes documentation so simple! With today's requirements for reimbursement, this type of system is a must.

Cons

It is a bit of an investment, but typically quality products cost a little bit. While there are free or lower cost options around, they are typically lacking in one area or another (product support, customization, do not offer all in one billing, EMR, and simplification of documentation).

Their willingness to adapt the product to suit our specific clinic needs made our transition to this system much smoother than it would have been! It's easy to navigate and the company is available to answer questions or concerns. The ability to have working templates for evaluation forms, progress notes, etc. has saved a lot of time with paperwork.

Cons

Getting used to the new layout was tricky at first, but now that I understand it, the navigation is easier than it was with our previous system. There have been a few times since starting with this product (1.5 months) that the system was down or unable to be accessed in the evening. This was a problem, since I need to bill services everyday so I can get reimbursements for them.

Efficient, for the most part, and user-friendly!

Pros

I like how this program is user-friendly and saves time on paperwork and documentation.

Cons

I think there are a few more ways that this product could allow for more efficiency. Sometimes, it is difficult to move from one part of the program to the next. It seems to take too much time going from one thing to the next. There are also several error messages that come up while I'm working on the weekends, causing me frustration because it disrupts my work. Also, the reports show all clinicians and their pay, which I think is inappropriate. There needs to be a way for one clinician to see their own billing without seeing others. This product has not been set up well for behavioral health providers; it seems to be geared more for medical professions.

Newbie to industry and PTPP software

Pros

The product is very user-friendly and very easy to navigate. The drop-down menus are especially helpful to me as a new person to the industry. It's easy to enter an appointment for a new client and to verify appointments times, arrivals and reschedules. I haven't had any direct contact with the vendor.

Cons

I printed out weekly appointment calendars for the wrong weeks. You have to pay close attention to the date ranges as they don't automatically change in each screen. It would be helpful to have a couple of places on the patient info screen to list contact names and corresponding contact numbers.

PT Practice Pro Review

Pros

PT Practice Pro is very easy to navigate. It has a great layout and cuts time off of work with documentation and billing.

Cons

There is really not much I do not like so far. There has been a time or two that I experienced technical difficulties; however, the customer service email is quick to help.
