Keela from Networks for Change is a cloud-based nonprofit management solution that helps small and midsize nonprofits manage projects and events, measure donor engagement and send notifications to volunteers and members. Keela offers customizable dashboards and inbox features for users to view their responsibilities and communicate with team members.

Keela's built-in CRM feature helps nonprofits build a centralized contact database, build contact profiles, store conversations and set communication priorities for contacts. Its donation management module helps organizations collect donations from regular members and new members, issue donation receipts and send autoamted thank you notes via email.

Keela also offers an email marketing tool that allows them to create and send promotional emails and event-related notifications to their supporters. The accounting system within Keela helps institutes to maintain financial records and manage monthly donations.

Keela is offered on an annual subscription basis which includes support via phone and email for its users.

Quite easy to use as a total newbie to (though technically proficient) donor management software

The pricing feels expensive to a small nonprofit that doesn't usually spend money on anything but the animals in our care, but compared to others software programs, it is seems like a good price for the value. This software works well for a small nonprofit animal rescue that adopts out about 500 cats and kittens a year. After 3 years we had a bit over 1000 contacts (including adopters, so not just donors) and the next level in Keela (since it's based on contacts) we shouldn't have to buy until a few years down the road.

Pros

Their customer service is very responsive. The software sends automatic donor thank yous/tax receipts. It's easy to upload past donations (like from PayPal, Facebook or other ways you've raised money and have a list - you must format the data correctly) and easy to upload your contacts. You can have different donation forms. You can have different campaigns. I haven't delved deeply into the reporting, but it looks very powerful and probably pretty easy to create custom/ad hoc reports on almost whatever criteria you need.

Cons

The tax receipt/thank you letter is my biggest con. The letter and tax receipt look great in the preview when you're creating/modifying it, but the actual letter that gets sent has tiny print, and you can not modify what it looks like.

Clean and simple

Their customer service is over the top. Everyone is super kind and extremely responsive to issues and concerns. Fabulous team!

Pros

I love how clean and straightforward the system appears. I'm not bombarded by too much information at the very beginning. It gives you a chance to set your own goals and presents your progress in a way that is both encouraging and helpful.

Cons

It was a little difficult to figure out the different functions. When creating some of the peer-to-peer fundraising pages, it was unclear at first how to plug forms into projects and connect them to campaigns.

i don't have enough access to the software to be able to answer this question.

Pros

I am commenting on this software based on it level of accessibility. I have partial sight but am legally blind.
I find that the left side bar has good contrast. it seems very intuitive but without the accessibility piece I can't navigate the site with ease which limits what i can do with the software. the tutorials are helpful but again are not all that accessible. Embedded description would be useful.

Cons

It would be helpful if the text was more bold. the general page offers no contrast or contrast options so i personally fin it hard to use. I can't find icons or test needed in order add information or find it when i need to. I also find that editing a profile sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, and i am not sure why or how. the site is not user friendly for screen reader software

Having all board members and book keeper all using the same software which is linked to out banking/quickbooks/ payment methods--- INVALUABLE

Pros

Everything is in one place
Software that links other accounting methods (ease of use): Quickbooks/paypal/Stripe

Cons

setting up a campaign and having the funds/donations raised linked to it -- function did not work
double emails about donations in my email in box (some did not even say the amount donated)

Must-have for Any Organization!

Overall, I have found Keela to be very useful and I think the subscription has been worth every penny. I would highly for others to give it a try as it can really make donor engagement a much easier process. It has been very beneficial for our organization as we're now much more organized and efficient when it comes to donation tracking and have a place with all of our contact informations.

Pros

What I like about Keela is that it has so many different purposes and can be used for more than just one thing. For example, I can use Keela to create a database for all of our contacts for our nonprofit organization. In addition to that, I can also create a donation page where I can track all of the donations that we recieve a create a donor profile, where I can report how much they've donated.

Cons

What I like least about this software is that it can be a little difficult to navigate at certain times. Everything seems to be hidden away under some tabs or menus. This is not a major inconvenience but it would be much easier to use if everything was organized and presented in a better way on the Keela website.

Keela -- Quality Nonprofit Software at an Affordable Price

Pros

What I enjoy most about Keela is how many features are included at an affordable rate. Working at a small organization, we were able to transition the vast majority of our spreadsheets and loose systems into one. We also were previously using an outdated hardware CRM system installed on a single, unreliable office computer and were in desperate need of a cloud-based system.

Cons

Because Keela is a system that does not include the bells and whistles of more expensive options, some functionality does seem limited. While most issues are very minor, I would say my biggest frustration is not being able to easily track married couples in the same contact entry.

A Quick, Low-ish Cost Solution for a Non-profit that lacked structure

Overall this software has (or will be) a lifesaver. Our staff have had difficulties adjusting to the new system, mainly because there is structure and specific data points where before it was a mish mash of data in notebooks, Excel files, and Post-It notes. I would like to see some additional development devoted specifically to customization of the system. Keela is very much a rigid cloud solution with little to no customization options. Having the ability to control the look and feel of the system, donor-facing data, and being able to control what inputs are allowed from users would be a huge help. At the end of the day, though, Keela is a great solution for a small nonprofit who is looking for a quick solution at low cost.

Pros

-Easy to onboard donors and volunteers (the difficult part was organizing the data to make it upload properly which has more to do with the administration of the organization that the software.
-Immediate, flexible training for the staff.
-Relatively simple interface. I say relatively because sometimes its almost "too" easy and some members of the staff overlook the simple solution.

Cons

-I am not fond of the analytics tool. Again, maybe this has more to do with the fact that its too simple, but as an analyst I find it difficult to get the information I want easily.
-We have had some struggles with the integration with other vendors-specifically MailChimp. After following all the instructions for both companies, we still cannot complete a good link.

Give Keela a go!

It is easy to keep track of donors, issue receipts and report to management.

Pros

Keela is really easy to use. It's also really easy to import your data from other systems and the live webinar-based training will help with any queries you may have. It is a great price too for non-profit organizations and it offers the functionality we need. I highly recommend it.

Cons

There isn't a separate section for organizations. You can segment your contacts with tags but it would be great if there were a way to easily see all your corporate supporters.

Keela for Small Nonprofit

Initially I wasn't too thrilled. But the customer service from keela was excellent. I still have some issues with Quickbooks integration but it will resolve (for me anyway) in the new year. Customer Service is quick, personal, and super nice!

Pros

Keela is easy to use and very user friendly. The customer support is excellent!!!

Cons

It's newer software so it lacks some functionality but they seem to be coming out with new features often and there's been notice of new features coming soon.

Making Connetions Easy

As a new user, my experience with Keela is very good and I look forward to using the software on a regular basis.

Pros

I recently started using Keela to organize and communicate with all my contacts about a new project. Keela has turned out to be an effective way to build a contact list and put together an effective campaign. We are also using it to send out email updates, which is particularly helpful. The site is intuitive and easy to use, even for a non-techy person like me.

Cons

The only thing I think they can improve is the back and forth functionality when I am in email composition made. I found I had to constantly go out of e-blast and go back in, which just slowed me down. I am hoping that the analytics will be helpful after a few times sending out communications.

Still learning

We are learning as we go and Keela is making it easy to learn. I just signed up for more training and I think it will be very beneficial.

Pros

So far we are still very new at this but the ease of learning it has been a lot better than our last software.

I think we are still too new to decide what we least like.

Keela makes 'working smarter', easier and more fun.

Pros

Excellent CRM. #1 reason nonprofits fail to use CRM's is how difficult they are to use. They include too many features that aren't necessary; and require dozens of unnecessary clicks to get content you want. Keela has all of your nonprofits needs on screen only when you want to be looking at it. Its clear, intuitive, colorful, and fun to use. Keela makes 'working smarter', easier and more fun.

Cons

Since it's new, some features are still in development. Integrations are growing. Some more customization on forms (donations) and receipts would be nice. Event integration is in the works but is a must

Keela review after, admittedly, limited use

I am very excited about using Keela moving forward, once all of the bugs of importing data is smoothed out. I think that the amount of ways you can use Keela and tasks you can complete is going to streamline many of our activities and create efficiencies.

Pros

That it is a web-based platform, meaning it is easily accessible regardless of where I'm working for the day. I also appreciate clean design, which helps deal with the sense of feeling overwhelmed that I've had with other databases. And though I am only beginning to learn the breadth of features, the shear volume of what I am able to do is astounding.

Cons

The dashboard could better reflect the aspects of Keela that my organization uses most - as a very small team, the 'projects' piece just isn't needed. Having a quarter of the dashboard dedicated to this feels unnecessary for us and, perhaps, could be dedicated to something else. We have also had some issues with set-up and importing all of our information that has been a challenge and time consuming (though customer support has been very responsive).

-interactions button is very helpful along with the choices (in person, email, phone)
