I’ve had a great experience with Pay HOA; the software is reliable, and the staff is good at what they do, and the price is reasonable. Their tiered pricing system was ideal for our small community. The tool is very easy to use, but when you need support, the Customer Support team is very responsive. There are a lot of features, including transaction classification, budgeting, data reporting, invoicing, payable management, a voting module, an API with a bank (AAB), 1099 processing support (extra fee), accounting support (extra fee), a voting module, and more. #### Cons There are some minor user interface bugs, especially with newer modules (e.g., voting), but the team is good about addressing these quickly, and over time they reside. The Pay HOA team needs to improve the security measures and automation features related to their direct bank API with Alliance Association Bank (AAB). The current processes for opening new bank accounts with AAB (via PayHOA’s API setup) are not handled via software-based work flows; it’s all over email, which feels unprofessional in the modern banking environment. In addition, some information that is handled by email should not be; they need to use encrypted networks for the transfer of sensitive information. I have honestly been quite shocked by the AAB API process. Everything with PayHOA seems secure, smooth and seemless, but not the AAB API account setup process. It needs improvement to meet the high bar of modern banking. Once accounts are setup, it’s smooth, but the account setup process and account data exchange process needs work. There also needs to be an automatic password reset option for the AAB accounts. I should not have to email someone to reset my password. I find this unacceptable. #### Reasons for choosing PayHOA We needed a solution that could meet our budget. The Accounting package along with AI really shortens up the time for completing tasks and is super easy to navigate. I appreciate the many features for the homeowners and maintaining information about individual units is most helpful for board history transitions. Everything is at your fingertips with the reports, and it streamlines the workflow for our board members. It really does make volunteering in the community a lot less cumbersome! #### Cons We operate our own water system and incorporating the utility software with the payhoa's accounting package creates more steps and is a challenge for people without accounting experience. I researched 9 different management site options for our HOA and sat through mulitple demos. I kept a side-by-side comparison spreadsheet and over the course of 3 months, found PayHOA to be the correct fit for what we need. The cost was within our budget (we saved A LOT by switching), and the functionality is great! What used to take several weeks with the HOA management company (ACC reviews, homeowner requests, etc.) can now be accomplished in days. PayHOA gives us ways to contact our neighbors immediately with notifications about work maintenance, gate issues, etc. One of the biggest pluses is the amount of training videos PayHOA offers and their live support is incredible. When I reach out with a questions (I'm the Treasurer for our Association), I usually receive an answer the same day. I have had many face-to-face video calls where the PayHOA staff has walked me through an entire process to get everything ready to go when we began getting our site set up. #### Cons The onboarding process does take a long time, especially since we switched mid-year. Most of the issues were not due to PayHOA. Our previous management company sent us two large checks to close out our account and we had to back into all the numbers that comprised the checks. We had to do some work-arounds to make the PayHOA system balance. I wish that part had been smoother. The accounting module of PayHOA is functional, but it could be a bit more user-friendly. #### Reasons for choosing PayHOA PayHOA fit our needs and our budget. It has all the functionality that our small HOA requires. Ease of use for residents for setting up auto-pay for HOA dues. #### Cons When importing users coming from a spreadsheet, some issues are faced if the fields don't match template and manual adjustments is required.
