Kareo is a web-based medical billing and practice management solution used by medical practitioners and physicians across the United States. The system suits small practices and billing companies. With Kareo, practices can schedule patients, confirm insurance, manage delinquent accounts and the collections process, store patient documents, develop customized reports and more.

Kareo helps practices manage the complications involved in insurance billing. Medical staff can enter patient data and verify their insurance claims immediately. Kareo also provides a schedule and appointment reminder that helps practitioners schedule appointments with their patients and send appointment reminders to reduce no-shows. The built-in messaging feature allows practices to communicate with their billers, patients and employees. Other features include billing analytics, advanced claim processing, document management and agenda planner.

Kareo is ICD-10 compliant medical solution used across a wide variety of medical specialties, including mental health, family medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, chiropractic, podiatry and more.

The platform of particular medical practice, personalized and independent of a hospital.

It has been pretty good at providing fabulous topical telemedicine tools.

Pros

I like the breadth of the platform, its functionality, the friendliness of its system, all the attention functions it provides, from scheduling your appointment, to making, reports, follow-ups and even the paid-for-service channel. Excellent choice of telemedicine.

Cons

Despite being highly complete, its handling is also quite complex, which requires training. However, the platform gives you this training without further complication, training you in the most personalized way.

Everything I needed in one package

Pros

I love the to-do list on the software's landing page (Practice Home). The software is incredibly user-friendly and easy to navigate. Customer service is great, and the training is comprehensive. I also love the success coaching.

Cons

I honestly have nothing truly negative to say about it. If I had to say anything, it would be the cost. It would be wonderful if the PM/Billing part was a bit cheaper for someone who is freelancing and paying for it themselves (as opposed to a provider paying for it).

More Bang for your Buck

Kareo works with us to solve our problems as they arise, no matter what they are. Great tools for communication.

Pros

Simplicity is key for our physicians. They do not like complex things. Overall best for the price

Cons

Sometimes we have glitches that we are the first to find out about and it takes a little longer to fix for us since we are on the East coast.

it sounded good before u got into it but once in its a nightmare. Right now, Nothing at all

Too many pages to get to the point of what u need to do. not a great software.There was only 1 rep that kinda knew what they were doing if u can get one that speaks good english. they r clueless regarding their own product. I think they r out of costa rica-def out of the country.

I've seen three practices run into bankruptcy by using this software

Terrible, disengaged administration interested only in profit. And their profit. NOT yours!!!!

Pros

There are no pros to the use of this software. I've watched my employees struggle to bill through this carelessly thought out and poorly presented app.

Cons

Where do I start?
The software does not catch billing errors reliably. The support is careless and disengaged from the struggles of those trying to make this software an engine of profit. Maybe if you are a big enough account the staff is more competent and more willing to help, but at the one-practice level if you have to use Kareo, just go fishing everyday. You'll make as much money.

THE BILLING SOFTWARE IS THE BEST.

Kareo has been overall wonderful and I have no complaints.

Pros

The user friendly software is the best billing software we have ever used at this practice. We have received so many more payments since changing over to Kareo and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

User Friendly Software

We have been w/Kareo for 5-years. I would definitely recommend esp for someone w/a small office.

Pros

Reports are the best and you can see exactly what you need to by customizing.

Cons

Upon upgrades, there are occasional glitchen which are more annoying than anything but normally things are fixed right away. Being able to combine patients when you accidentally add him/her a second time would be a huge plus.

Learn from my mistake- don't use Managed Billing!

Overall, managed billing was a poor product and a bad investment. The money and stress was not worth it. Ultimately, I was so frustrated with the experience I cancelled all of the modules with Kareo. I no longer had any trust in the organization.

Pros

The clinical module is a powerful tool. The sales, onboarding for the modules, and trainers for the modules were good. This seems like a good product for a multi-provider independent practice. If I had just purchased the billing module instead of going for managed billing, I would likely have had a different experience.

Cons

The managed billing actually slowed down the billing process. I paid the early termination fee in order to get out of my contract. I thought that the biller I was assigned was bound to know more about billing than I do. I was wrong. It took weeks to get simple questions answered and tasks were not always completed within the 72 hour window. When I was scheduled to talk to a billing manager about issues, they called 40 minutes late and made excuses for missing the appointment.

Good reporting tools was able to get to the information needed to know where AR was for my provider.

Cons

Pros

nothing was good at all with this program. We had issues from day one, and had no definite answers to resolve.

I did like how the software in a graded instantaneously with our EMR system in order to put new clients instantaneously as we head to Devin to our other system.

Cons

I don’t like the frequent updating of the software that wookr prompt me on screen nearly weekly to log in and update to the newest version. Also I www not a fan of the system layout and appearance. Found it tough to navigate at times.
