Great support and help for billers
It was a great system for a small clinic as I have experience with Epic as well. This software made my job easier as a scribe as we no longer need to use paper and pen.
PROSI think , billers must have created this tool. The integration with the clearing house is fabulous. We can track claims and work rejections/denials immediately.
CONSIts disappointing to admit that the support and troubleshooting was not that great. I have had many times where I have had to get with Kareo support for some system glitches and errors. It slowed down my work as a scribe.

Kareo Billing Software
Overall we've been pretty happy with Kareo. There are a few features we miss from our old software but some of the features we gained by switching to Kareo mostly make up for the difference.
PROSThe main reason we were drawn to Kareo was it's API. It helped that it is cloud based and user friendly but our focus was on the ability to get the data out for use in reporting and our proprietary software and we were able to do that with Kareo.
CONSThe canned reporting is okay but most of the reports export to excel in an unusable format (or at least a difficult to use format with filler cells and merged cells).
Reason for choosing Kareo Billing
Mainly for the API and familiarity as a few key members of our staff had used it in the past.
Reasons for switching to Kareo Billing
We wanted to move to a cloud based software with an open API.

Stay away!
It was a nightmare especially after Tebra took over. STAY AWAY!!
PROSIt is actually fairly cheap but "you get what you pay for" is the lesson
CONSCustomer service is awful. They will tell you one thing over the phone, then it will change with someone else, particularly when it comes to signing up for a service. They will not provide the information in writing consistently, and when they do it is contradictory. They don't consistently create cases or document communication so then when you call back they say "we have no documentation" and will not take responsibility. The software is not compatible with MAC. When I had problems that recurred they couldn't help and I was literally on the phone for hours with them.

The Best practice management system
I have been using Kareo for over 11 years now. I like that they do updates whenever necessary. As my title says it is the best management system.
PROSI like the ease of use. The system is easy to learn. Kareo is a nice system.
CONSThe only thing is the system does not let you search pt by dx codes. Other than that the system is great.

Kareo for ParkerPT
It is a wonderful product to house medical billing information. You have easy access and may reports and tools to access when managing patient accounts. I love the on-boarding. I felt it was helpful and very comprehensive. I wish there were opportunities to work with this group to learn what is new or old that I could benefit from knowing. There is so much this system can do and I just don't feel like I am taking advantage of all the features because I don't use or remember to use from our initial training sessions.
PROSThe software is very intuitive and I like all the options you have but don't have to pay for unless you use. Being a small business we are always looking for ways to increase productivity and save money.
CONSPosting of ERA. This has not been improved since we began using 10+ years ago and if it has then I missed the memo. You have to address each individual date of service verses reviewing and have post automatically. I would even be happy to setup default selections to make posting quicker. Also would like a resource to assist with rejection error messages that would provide suggested issues. Current messages can be very cryptic.

At the time, they did not offer electronic billing and the on-boarding process was cumbersome and to difficult to implement.

The other product did not provide the breath of features that Kareo does and was not user friendly enough for the business owner to do the billing.
