About eM Client

eM Client is a fully-featured desktop email client for Windows and macOS. Beyond email management, the system also offers features for management of calendars, tasks, events, contacts and notes, and integrates chat.

The software supports all major email services including Gmail, Exchange, iCloud and Outlook365 while deployment is quickly implemented thanks to automatic setup and data import from all major email apps (including Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, Incredimail and more).

eM Client provides a multifunctional sidebar containing daily agenda, communication and attachment history with a selected contact, tasks or chat. Additionally, the system has a snooze email feature that can literally postpone selected emails and return them back to inbox only after a set time. You can also use email encryption via PGP and S/MIME. The app also provides email archive, signatures, templates, QuickText, email rules (local and synchronized), conversations and threads. Integrated spell-check and automatic message translation is also available.

Pros:
As far as I know you can combine a few e-mail addresses in a single playform so, you can check all your e-mails in just a platform.
Cons:
I get too many e-mails from spam people but I guess it's not eM Client's problem. I need to unsubscribe first.

Reasons for switching to eM Client

I was searching a better platform in a single software!

For corporate users looking to get off O365, this is your new email client

Absolutely awesome. Very happy with this product. Easy to set up, seamlessly authenticates to O365 (including OAuth 2 authentication) and Google.

Pros:
Handles multiple calendars and email accounts, including O365 and Google accounts. Calendars can open in a separate window and the UI is excellent.
Cons:
A little slow when double clicking on an email message to open in a new window. Also applies to replies, so you have to wait a few seconds after you hit "reply" before you can start typing your reply.

Reasons for switching to eM Client

Outlook does not handle Google calendars at all. Had to switch because I have 2 office365 calendars and 2 Google ones and have to manage conflicts.

Pros:
I had an app to log into instead of online web browser only. I could also change the color to fit my personality
Cons:
It kept logging me out. I would have to uninstall the app and then redownload it sometimes. My emails would not come through if the eM client server was down.

Reasons for switching to eM Client

we needed something that was not web browser available only for our desktops

Vendor Response

Hi Shauna, thank you for your review. eM Client is a desktop program so there shouldn't really be something to log out of, can you please reach out to our support with more details on what you mean by "logging you out"? Can you copy the error or warning you received? Also your emails are not received via any of our servers, we only have a server for our licenses, but your emails are received from your email server, our server being down would not affect your emails at all. We would be happy to look into this and assist if you can reach out to our team, thank you.

Pros:
Very easy to use for beginners to e-mail clients, allows easy addition of accounts and quick to learn all the features.
Cons:
Not as sleek as outlook & gmail competitors, doesn’t have an easy way to remember original license key account as it isn’t linked to your license key.

Reasons for switching to eM Client

Found the other email clients too familiar and distracting so needed a fresh start in a reliable software solution.

eMClient Windows application CANNOT send larger attachements (3MB +)

Pros:
I needed an email client to serve as a capable Windows email client for both POP3 email servers and for IMAP servers. eMClient was such a program and did work well for several years.
Cons:
Beginning in January 2024, I started reporting a failure of emclient (for Windows) to be able to send emails with large (3MB or more) attachments. Initially, emclient support replied and asked very low level questions to determine how I was using emClient. When it became obvious that I knew more than their support staff, they stopped responding to my requests for help. Sending the same email through the Outlook web portal works fine. Sending the same email through the iOS emclient app works fine. Disabling Windows Defender firewall and antivirus doesn't help. I think this is a bug that they are unable or unwilling to tackle because only a small number of users are complaining and it is easier for them to lose a few customers than it is to fix the problem.

Reasons for choosing eM Client

it had all the features I needed and was a fair price

Reasons for switching to eM Client

was forced to in order to keep using the program

Vendor Response

Hi Dean, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you experienced issues, but we do not plan to stop troubleshooting the issue just yet, the new technician assigned to your case is indeed newer but he is communicating with our devs to help you resolve the issue. We do not ignore any tickets intentionally - so when reporting a new issue or even reaching out after a while, make sure to start a new ticket instead of re-opening an old one. If the technician no longer works with us, it might unfortunately take longer for us to notice that an old finished ticket was re-opened. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

An email Client you should use

4

I use Emclient on a couple of computers and I am really satisfied. It works perfectly, it is simple to use and you have all the mail features, such as contacts, calendar, email filters, rules. Sometimes seems to slow down if your computer has few hardware resources, but I recommend it anyway.

Ratings Breakdown

Pros:
if you come from another email client, EmClient import your previous email configuration so you do not have to worry/bother about what to set in server and ports, very useful feature, especially for those who aren't skilled. Em Client is easy to use and you can have two email accounts in the free version, suitable for most people that have only personal email addresses. If you use at work you may need to set 2+ address but the license is very cheap. It is a valid alternative to Outlook (you must pay to use it) and Thunderbird (a bit confusing for me).
Cons:
It's a bit slow if your computer is old, better to install in newest computers

Pros:
I love how fluid the UI is. It makes checking email and understanding it a breeze. The built in calendar in the sidebar is a nice easy to use feature that makes looking at my day at a glance very easy.
Cons:
There is a limit of three email accounts for free, which then gets quite expensive. There should be a mid-tier plan.

Reasons for switching to eM Client
