Realtimeboard Software

Realtimeboard is a cloud-based collaboration tool for small to midsize businesses. The solution features a digital whiteboard that can be used for research, ideation, building customer journeys and user story maps, wireframing and a range of other collaborative activities.

The solution’s whiteboard toolkit enables users to create mockups and schemes, write down ideas and leave feedback on other members’ input. Boards can be created using pre-loaded templates and can be converted into a presentation or saved as a PDF.

Realtimeboard also comes with an integrated library of icons, wireframes and other content. Users can also upload files, images and documents from their computer or Google Drive.

High quality tool with amazing UX

Pros

I love the tool, actually I use it not only to create boards for myself but also I get inspiration on how to organize stuff from their templates. I rely a lot on online collaboration tools in my work and so far this is on top.

Cons

Could not find any, really. As I am not a designer I could need many more templates, but I understand that is a feature to pay for.

Perfect for teams of people in different locations!

Anytime you contact support, they are super responsive, professional and helpful. Not that you will have to contact support that often!

Pros

Flexibility. Templates. Integrated with JIRA. Fantastic simultaneous accessibility and usability-- great for collaborating.

Cons

Billing model. Wish it were more like Atlassian's where you can buy blocks of users (e.g., 20, 50, 100 etc.).

A Time and Paper Saver for Laying Out Your Screenplay!

Pros

There are so many, but the real-time collaboration is a huge one for my partners and myself. Also the ability to print specific frames to pdf is convenient. Traditionally screenwriters use note cards on a cork board to layout an outline. This makes it easy to move scenes around and to see the project as a whole. RealtimeBoard has completely replaced that for my partner and I since we live in two different cities. We have planned all of our scripts for the last few years this way and it works great. Another nice benefit is the ability to add images and media directly inside the board, this is great for reference materials.

Cons

I'm not sure that I can think of any cons honestly. The only thing would be that you're limited to 3 boards per person on the free plan, which has become a pain the more I use it. I guess I'll need to upgrade soon!

Best tool I've used in 2018. Hands down.

Pros

Easily the best collaboration software tool hands down. Incredibly feature rich and yet ridiculously easy to use and a very generous freemium model to boot. Has really helped in my work and a side venture liaising and collaborating with remote team members. RIP whiteboards / wallspaces.

Cons

The mobile app is surprisingly feature rich, just a little clunky but given I use my mobile for consumption rather than creation it's not a dealbreaker (and it's still very promising)

Most flexible mapping tool I've tried

Pros

As a Designer, I've tried all the latest mind mapping & brainstorming web apps and RealtimeBoard is the most flexible as far as capturing a wide range of visual, creative and or complex concepts and research. Realtime Boards offers Free Plans with a limit of 3 boards, however the flexibility of a board means you can do quite a lot on this free plan.

Cons

I'd really like to upgrade to a paid plan but the cheapest on offer is more than I'd like to spend per year considering how much I use the application.

Best board service I found so far

So far nothing to add.

Pros

It's a light , fast and very capable boarding service. You have ability to share , comment , chat , make presentation and all kind of cool features. It's also free for basic use. I use it both on PC and Android phone and it works great

Cons

I havent found ones so far. I don't use paid version so I can't really complain about the price as well. But I guess that would be the con for me - just kidding :)

Taking white-boarding to the next level

Pros

The capabilities of the platform are pretty cool. It has allowed my team to map out things super complex projects and timelines that require visual support. The zooming in and out allows us to see things "big picture" while providing details if necessary.

Cons

I think the trickiest thing is the navigation within the board. There modes where you're editing and modes where you're just moving around the canvas. It can get frustrating to have to switch between the two.

Exceptional real-time collaboration software

Working for a 100% remote company RealtimeBoard allows us to communicate on topics we would usually use a whiteboard or pen and paper to do in person.

Pros

The product is easy to use and get started and allows you to use it how you like. We have used it for a number of different things from planning out projects, reviewing wireframes and designs, retrospectives, planning sessions, design sprints and more. There are so many useful features to support collaboration.

Cons

Given the product is web based sometimes it can be a little slow to load large numbers of objects, especially over mobile connections.

Versatile and collaborative tool!

Pros

Our team loves the versatility of this tool and the collaboration abilities for remote team members. We use it for so many projects company-wide (from product and design to sales).

Cons

Honestly, no cons so far. As with any good tool there comes a price, but the rate is reasonable for the usability of the tool.

Virtual Whiteboard for Virtual Team Collaboration

Pros

Ease of Use - the team members with whom I collaborate online using Realtimeboard are not necessarily the most computer literate. Yet of all the online web services we use to accomplish our virtual team collaborative tasks, these same individuals have the least problem mastering Realtimeboard. That says it all!
Integration - the recent integration that delivers messages on updates to a board directly to the Slack discussion forum associated with that board means team members can stay focused in the team collaboration environment (Slack) and don't need to jump around from website to website to see what is happening.

Cons

As a facilitator on online courses which have a short duration of ten to thirteen weeks, the obvious necessity of a paid account for more than three participants is an obvious shortcoming. The service *is* worth the fee demanded and the price *is* competitive, but obviously, many of the first time users are not business people. Realtmeboard should rethink their Trial package for special circumstances like ours.

It's your digital white board and works like magic

Overall, it's 1000 times better.

Pros

It helps you with almost all tasks that you do on a physical whiteboard. You can sketch, map, ideate, etc. on it. And, it's infinite - you can keep adding content and elements as much as you want. The ready-made templates are great to start with any real-world process or method. Real-time collaboration also works like a magic as you work with everyone in-person.

Cons

Sometimes, it takes a lot of time to load. Maybe, it's obvious because it has to load a lot of elements. Rarely, we faced issues like a few elements not loading, but refreshing your board solves this problem.

I like it so much

I use it for my maths lesson at a high school. It's one of the best online boards I've ever used. It is very easy to use and very flexible with amazing features. I highly recommend it.

Pros

Intuitive and easy interface. Students can use it in collaborative way and in real time, even if they are not at school. Lots of useful features.

Cons

I'd only like to use an embedded maths editor. It could give me the ability to write each step of my maths lesson in a perfect formal style.

Fantastic tool for idea gathering!

Pros

I've been using RealtimeBoard for close to two years and it has become an integral tool for our design team. Simple, intuitive, fluid and powerful. The variety of templates included can be a great starting point for many project. Many of them have even given our team ideas of how to gather information more effectively. Honestly, I can't recommend this software any more and felt it necessary to sing some praises when due.

Cons

Wish the sticky recognizer would extract text and create an app native sticky instead of cutting out the image lol. I'm half teasing. The fact that it actually recognizes stickies is quite impressive ;)
