McAfee Endpoint Protection Advanced for SMB Software

McAfee Endpoint Protection Advanced is a security suite for small and midsize businesses (SMBs) with up to 250 devices. This solution offers businesses core functionality such as a firewall to prevent hackers from accessing company networks, anti-malware protection and Web security to protect against harmful URLs and other online threats.

McAfee Endpoint Protection Advanced also includes a central control panel, which is available on-premise or in the cloud. Via this console, a single administrator can manage the company network.

The cloud-based version offers increased flexibility: networks can be managed anywhere, on any device connected to the Internet. However, the on-premise version offers more functionality, as this version of McAfee Endpoint Protection Advanced covers both Macs and PCs and includes mobile device management (MDM) for Android devices.

The on-premise version also features email security and encryption of critical business information.

McAfee, a subsidiary of Intel, has included small business security solutions in its portfolio for over 25 years.

Pros

1. Good detection. I found Mcafee having better detection than Norton though lab tests say otherwise.
2. Detects PUP's
3. Easy

Cons

1. Detection rate is very good but still requires supplementary tools like Malwarebytes, zemana etc.

When you think of PC security Software, you think of McAfee. It's reliable and is a proven leader. You get all the security scans and alerts that you'd expect from a security software. McAfee alerts you the minute it suspects a security threat on your computer. They constantly update the product to ensure that you have up to date protection. It's easy to install and is often already installed on your PC when you purchase it. I liked knowing that it was working even when I wasn't thinking about potential risks.

Pros

Excellent track record
Proven leader in security software.

Cons

Somewhat pricey when you consider some competitors who offer comparable security for less, or even for free.

McAfee - The name is enough for protection of network endpoints

Ease-of-use

Likes Best

Full encryption to prevent data theft from stolen laptops or mobile devices. It offers two versions - business and enterprise with enterprise version excluding data encryption feature. This gives flexibility to enterprises already having other tools to encrypt the storage devices and save on some costs.

Likes Least

There is no way to completely wipe off the data from stolen devices. It only encrypts the data. Also, it does not check for outdated softwares which may pose a potential threat.

Recommendations

Complete endpoint protection especially for companies requiring strict data compliance. If data compliance is not a primary requirement, then one might want to look for other solutions.

Awful product. Protects against nothing. Several free programs found things and removed that Mcafee Endpoint allowed through and didn't label as hazardous. Built in firewall protection is a joke. NO dice here.

Pros

I cant find any. Its complete junk

Cons

A costly AV that cant do what free ones can. Proceed at your own risk
