Sophos provides great antivirus protection

Our experience with Sophos has been mixed. While I love the fact that it catches infections considerably more than other solutions, it is much more resource intensive, especially their cloud option. When recommending Sophos, we really need to take into account the age of the computer. Older computers have come to a screeching halt after installing Sophos, while much newer computers, you can't even tell it's there until it catches something. It's not at all bloated in terms of including unnecessary tools and utilities. It protects you against viruses and it's extremely good at it.

Pros

The thing that I like most about Sophos is how reliable it is at protecting our systems. We have used other antivirus solutions in the past and they didn't catch anything. We had to deal with a number of ransomware infections before Sophos. Since switching, it has caught nearly everything it's run into.

Cons

The firewall portion is a little confusing to understand and also doesn't have that many features. While our old antivirus solution had a much more robust firewall, Sophos' firewall does not offer nearly as many options, such as a website whitelist.

Unobtrusive

Pros

I am charmed by how unobtrusive Sophos is .You don't even know it is there , unless there is a problem ,which is quickly resolved .

Cons

Sometimes it quarantines files that have no business being quarantined . But it is better to be safe than sorry.

Simply, the best email and web based threat protection available

You never know who, what, when, or where you will be hacked. But with Sophos Endpoint Security and Control it hasn't happened yet.

Pros

Solid platform for security, easy to use (no interaction needed), no false positive reports to date,

Cons

There are other security software with comparable test results for less money. But, no complaints here.

Sophos endpoint

I still think it's a good product and worth the money

Pros

The product is good. It installs easily and the support team helped me create a .bat file to install over group policy

Cons

What I dont like it how long support takes to get back to me over issues when they happen. I've learned they're based out of Europe so theres a hefty time difference. And once I was emailing someone directly over support issues now I need to put in a ticket. Not as happy about that

Good protection

We began using Sophos after a severe Ransomware attack, and it has done an excellent job in keeping us protected.

Pros

It is easy to install from one single file.

Cons

Our systems were monitored by a third party, and we had no way of controlling our own installations if there were issues. There was no way for us to forcibly take control if necessary.

Too basic

I would like to see more options, like running a full, heavy scan on the startup

Pros

Very friendly user, I really liked the interface for being simple for non experience users. Just the scan button and that will do it

Cons

I am a information technology support and I find it very basic and less accurate than avast or other antivirus

Our preferred endpoint (and server) protection product

Overall I am very happy with this product and confident of the protection it provides.

Pros

Powerful and feature rich protection product that does not noticeably impact system performance.
Support is excellent, once engaged the engineer is staying with you until the issue is resolved. They don't even mind if you add a couple of additional problems into the mix.
Includes their Intercept X protection with the advanced version. This is powerful stuff, anti-exploit and ransomware with root cause analysis. The portal to manage it all is easy to use as well. Very happy with this product and recommending it to everyone.

Cons

Not the cheapest on the market.
The cloud version does not have a push-deployment tool like the old fashioned on-premise version does. But once deployed it is a joy.

Awesome security solution

Sophos keeps me protected ,while not interfering with my workflow .

Pros

What I dislike most about anti-virus programs is how much they slow down devices. Sophos doesn't have that problem and does it's thing painlessly in the background .

Cons

Nothing to complain about ,except that maybe the admin panel is very hard to navigate .

Pros

Sophos is the lightest antivirus I've had the pleasure working with .It does a great job in the background ,whilst also giving you a sense of security .

Cons

I would love for alternative skin options ,as the white gets a bit heavy on my eyes .

Sophos Endpoint Protection - User Review

I use Sophos on all of my computers - daily - and am very pleased with it's performance.

Pros

I have used Sophos on both my work computer and personal laptops over the past twelve years and have never suffered any malware issues - despite regular internet use. I use the internet frequently - visiting numerous websites for information, purchases, etc. and Sophos has caught every potential threat.

Cons

I have not had any issue with this malware.

Solid Security

I have it installed on my home computer, and at my previous workplace we used it.

Pros

It's saved me several times from malware.

Cons

Sometimes it can successfully quarantine malware, but can't delete it, so you have to find a manual solution.

A great, easy to use and comprehensive endpoint protection suite

Sophos has helped me make my company more compliant with security audits and it has been a breeze in doing so.

Pros

Sophos endpoint protection is a very easy to use security suite of products, that gives you a lot of features for a great price. Most of the additional features such as disk encryption are modular and use the same framework or console as the main product, which make deployment even more slicker.

Cons

You need to tweak your policies before deployment to your environment, as you get a few false positives.

Good protection measure .

Pros

Sophos is pleasant to look at and works unnoticed on the background. It is a really unobtrusive anti-virus ,which for me is the biggest plus of the program .

Cons

You need an IT department or someone computer savvy to properly set up the program parameters at the beginning.
