Workfront (formerly AtTask) is a cloud-based project management solution that helps teams to prioritize, route, manage and report on their work. It is suitable for businesses of any size and industry including IT, architecture and accounting.

Users can access a library of standard reports or customize them to meet an organization’s needs. Workfront offers tools to help visualize the work lifecycle so users can maintain project schedules and budgets. Users can drag and drop tasks to assign them to team members, shift assignments and organize workflows through the visual interface.

Communication tools allow employees, account managers and executives to collaborate, assign work, track deadlines, check status updates, deliver work and manage reviews and approvals. Resource management tools allow managers to assign tasks, track performance and allocate resources. Methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and others can be implemented with Workfront, and the platform is designed to scale along with company growth.

    really good system

    1. Easy to use
    2. Highly customizable
    3. Great Reporting capabilities.
    4. Good support team.
    5. Sandbox feature (you can test the changes before it gets implemented in the production instance)
    6. Executing management will get a clear picture if the system properly setup and structured.

    Cons

    1. High Pricing
    2. Setup and rollout are time-consuming. Apply proper change management principles if you are replacing a existing system with WorkFront.

    Easy to monitor time losses during project's implementation

    I used Workfront to monitor and manage several side projects. Monitoring of the projects is quick and easy. Software integrates with Dropbox and Outlook, which is very convenient when they are used together. I like configurations of reports. You can configure any form with any data very quickly, it saves time. Option "Team builder" is interesting, but I didn’t use that much so can’t say if it can be useful much.
    The most useful for me was the “list of time” tool, which shows how much time was spent for different things during project implementation. Some moments were an opening. One of my tasks is to optimize time resource and reduce time losses. This function helped me to optimize some of the losses. There is also another, advanced function –“ Time management” to make further work with time resources completed.
    I recommend this program for project managers. I found it quite easy to use.

    Cons

    No essential minuses were found. The only thing I would improve is capability to integrate with more different software.

    Aside from its easy to use interface, what I like about Workfront is that we were able to track all our deadlines, thus, it helps to avoid longer project leadtime.

    Cons

    As of this time we do not have big problems with workfront. we are looking forward for its new updates and features.

    Great project management tool. Easy to learn, easy to use, and allows you to measure work projects.

    Pros

    Workfront is great for project management. It is very easy to use. Managers can prioritize upcoming projects, assign tasks and get updates on progress. It centralizes projects. It has a mobile app which is convenient. It integrates with tools like Outlook, Google Drive, and Adobe. It is very cost effective.

    It's helpful to see who is working on what and when things are due. The automatic reminders are really helpful. For less complex projects I think I prefer Basecamp.

    Working with multiple teams across different disciplines can be very challenging. Workfront has simplified that obstacle in my job and responsibilities. The transparency about a project's status is one of my favorite features, to see exactly where it is at in it's development, who it is assigned to, and what is needed to get it to the next step.

    Cons

    Perhaps a little more clarity in how to use the software for different roles within an organization would help. I have seen that sometimes there is a steep learning curve to understand how to use the software effectively, depending on the person or what they are tasked with.

    I love the ability to have multiple versions of a file. Really helps in the iterative design process.

    Cons

    It's unbelievably hard to navigate. Perhaps the enterprise does not utilize the software properly, but sometimes you have to go 5 actions deep to find one small thing. The search option is too vague and does not do a good job of prioritizing data based on the query.

    We use this as a ticketing system with one of our Vendors. Workfront looks to have all of the necessary capabilities to prioritize and manage tickets. It is great to be able to add all requirements and relevant documents or details in one place.

    Cons

    In order for Workfront to work better for our purposes, it needs to be more customizable. It is too difficult as a client to search through tickets and find what you're looking for. What it is lacking the most in is collaborative features. I cannot search for a ticket my colleague created with the ease that other tools offer.

    I love the custom views that the software offers, it allows me to keep myself organized during several projects. Metrics and charts are very useful in this software.

    I recommend it when it will be used for personal purposes, since for larger amount of users it could become a little tricky to have an optimal operation of the software.

    We are using WorkFront for about 2 years now and is very pleased with the functionality and feature set it provides to meet our needs to manage Workfront takes time and effort to implement, but anything worthwhile should. Workfront's team has been very helpful to us and really cares that we earn a win for our team. I am an end user of Workfront within teams. Workfront helps me keep on track with all my work, tracking progress and deadlines to ensure all work is delivered efficiently and on time.

    Pros

    Customization and Small Duration to be built and including good tools for Project Management
    In case of owning a lot of tasks on daily basis: Workfront is the best for monitoring and follow up
    Including all the required Reports for Top Management
    Very Good Support Team
    Always upgrading and adding new features and reports

    Cons

    I couldn’t reach how to automate prioritizing projects and assigning project, I am searching for this feature currently
    Company should have a process before using this software else it will not add anything to the work flow
    Higher Cost than other simpler software’s companies
    Hard to get team members to update data consistently, which impacts project status/reporting

With Workfront everything is built on collaboration and the tasks which team members need to know about the project is filled out before they start working. With easy user interface you can see the workflow, tasks and requests and the responsible team members for it. Workfront Project Management Software is also compatible with mobile devices. It makes easy to check progress or see set tasks even when you are away. After using Workfront Project Management Software in our company we do more with less effort and productivity was increased parallel to revenue.

    I think this is a great concept in organizing projects and keeping everyone accounted for in different steps of the process. There are some cool features as well, including proofs and reviewing.

    Cons

    This is s huge program with tons of features so the learning curve is quite high. There also seems to be a lot of bugs that often cause down time. It's not a very easy tool to use.

    Overall Workfront is a helpful routing tool but there are definitely some improvements that could be made. It's pretty fast to upload and start a new proof route once you're comfortable with all of the various settings and have determined the best way to set up the workflow with your team.

    Pros

    Once you get the hang of it, it's an easy-to-use, e-routing tool. It allows you to set up folders and sub folders for projects which helps keep you organized and access proofs later on. It has a lot of really handy features in review mode which help my team catch errors such as the side-by-side comparison and the overlay functions.

    Cons

    There are a LOT of nuances with this tool making it difficult to train someone on. If the right box isn't checked your whole route can get messy and out of order. I wish you had the ability to put a person on a route more than once but it doesn't allow that. They also randomly, periodically change the interface. Just as my team gets used to using it they change it all around and it takes longer figure out how to access the tools all over again.

    It's worth a look, but missing a few key features for myself

    I used to think Workfront was terrible, until I tried other enterprise level project management software. I'm not saying it's the best, far from it, but I think you start to appreciate it more after you realize what a herculean task it is to track everything. It does a decent job of letting you know what you're responsible for, with helpful email notifications so you don't need to always be in the tool. And once you get those notifications it's easy to respond directly in email or link to the project/task at hand and respond or make changes there. The really killer feature is the proofing tool, which despite some grumbling is one of the best out there. It allows commenting and markups of all types and allows you to do so in context. It also does versioning of the proofs, which is super helpful to go back to to remember what was marked up prior or changed. All in all it gets the job done but it's not particularly a pleasure to use, other than the proofing tool.

    Cons

    Not the most user friendly or aesthetic. The dashboard could use some better UX. I tried out a beta of the new dashboard and that was even worse, glad they didn't roll it out. The one big negative is the lack of a proper calendar module. I heard that one exists but for version my company uses, we don't have anything remotely resembling a calendar view. This is so helpful to me to get a view of milestones and deadlines coming up, without having to do the mental gymnastics of looking at a list view of tasks and figuring out what my priorities are. While the proofing tool is amazing (see pros) it does have a couple of missing features. One is the ability to mark comments as completed or resolved without having to do a response, and the only is to somehow create a linear history and relationship of the markups through the versioning system, so you see the evolution of them. Also, the whole idea of creating percentages done of a task seems so arbitrary to me. Even my company doesn't take much stock in it. We basically leave things at 0% until we absolutely need to mark things as 100% complete in order to not risk being at risk or to move on to the next task that's dependent on the prior one.

    Amazingly Robust Project Management Software

    I was an end user, and used it to account for my time, track my projects from start to finish, share proofs, get feedback, and communicate with internal clients. Now I am managing the projects for the end users, and it is more robust than I ever knew! I am able to make reports that make my design team's lives easier, their clients lives easier, and with their mobile apps, my sales team's lives easier.

    Pros

    The basic project management capabilities, the continuous innovation and adaptations we are able to implement, and how it can become whatever tool you need it to be when you set it up the right way.

    Cons

    I miss my old project management software's "start/stop" timer for tracking time, but apparently they are considering adding this to workfront.

    Was looking to implement a project management platform for a small team at work, but this wasn't quite what I was looking for, it was so much more of what I intended to implement.

    Pros

    It appears to be designed thinking on big enterprises, with a lot of hierarchy and permissions that are highly customizable, this works perfect for big companies looking to keep this structure and levels well defined.

    Cons

    Since it's packed with powerful functions and it can be highly customizable, it takes lots of time to get it set up and running, also doesn't have any chat option, when most of other project planners have this feature.
