Mesh "Generation" is a reach for what Sloyd does

Attempting to use this tool in a production ready game project would severely limit my creativity. I would need to work around the lack of specific models this tool can "generate" to build my game. I found far better results, cheaper and faster by simply browsing my game engine's preferred asset store for what I was looking for.

There's a library of extremely basic low poly models to use as placeholders in your game.

Cons:

The mesh generation is lackluster at best, a blatant lie at worst. Generating a model is more like searching their library for keywords, allowing the AI to select a model that matches the best, then randomizing a few properties on the model. It doesn't seem like this tool is using any actual AI at all beyond translating your text prompt into predefined properties.

Thanks for trying Sloyd. A lot has changed since 2024. Back then we didn't have text-to-3D, image-to-3D and image editing. The parametric template creator that you've used also went through big improvements in early 2025.

Have been using this tool for a long time and it has grown so well since the early days.

Delighted with the tool, have used it for game jams as well as larger projects and for models to bring into Blender etc, or to turn into voxel creations using other software.

Pros:

Amazing and simple procedural 3D models for games and other creative purposes, the generators are crafted by hand so the models are of significantly better quality than other online generative services.

Cons:

I think the perfect pricing setup is yet to be found but I believe the team will definitely get there in time.

Constructive criticism

I think this product will be very cool to be integrated with other platforms. I don't see how a user or developer using it that much for the price. But I know that big platforms could partner with you to provide it to customers for free. I refer to metaverse platforms and so on.

- The models are very lightweight, which is great for use in low-poly games. - Model generation is very fast. - Intuitive interface and simplified export.

Cons:

- There could be a button to reset the value of each slide to the original value. - Very limited and poorly customizable material options. - It should be possible to preview the materials. - Select where objects will spawn. - Explanation of what each slide changes. - Possibility to create typography (signs).

Not really match user expectation

I tried to generate a styled model "big horns in Steampunk style", but Sloyd just give me a water pipe. this is not what user expected

User Interface, Edit with AI test. I experience generate a keyboard, I can ask Sloyd edit "make it with keypad". The generated 3d mode is good

Cons:

Only basic material is applied to the model, some competitors can apply very good texture with material

Easy Generative 3D plug-in for immersive workflows.

Great tool with robuat features already, easy to integrate into existing workflows and quality is quite good even at this early stage

The interface (UI) was well thought out but poorly organized. The quality of the models was lacking but considering the task it could be worse

Pros:

Sloyd is a great alternative for when I need to prototype or get a quick model up and running while mantaining a good quality.

Cons:

It sometimes messes up the promp and delivelrs something that is far from what you expected

Thanks for leaving a review David. We are seeing increasingly that Sloyd is being used for prototyping. We also launched a UnityPlugin for that (only for companies and not self service at the moment)
