Great educational software with potential

Simply irreplaceable tool for my daily work as a teacher!

Pros:

I use TeacherKit every day for more than 5 years, and it gives me a central space for class management, lesson information, attendance and grade calculations. That's why I ended up paying for the subscription.

Cons:

The feature that could be much more improved is the scheduling of the lessons and timetable. You cannot see all lessons at once, you cannot go from lesson to previous/next lesson with a simple click, you cannot create standard time slots to simplify creating new lessons at standard hours. This is what I look forward to, in the future.

Important for the lesson as much as a blackboard and a chalk, a classroom and students!

I was and still am so enthusiastic about TeacherKit, that I sat down and made a full tutorial with pictures and videos for my colleagues. My material is used in a 25week seminar on tablets held every year for the last 4 years and it’s attended by 1000+ teachers every year. I hope TeacherKit will make a difference in their every day life, like it did in mine. Than you all for making this amazing app a reality!

Pros:

It wipes out the insecurity of being unjust to your students, when keeping track of all the serious stuff is only a few taps away. The sitting chart is a great help for the first days of every school year. It’s my first job in every new class, every year since 2012, my first year with TeacherKit.

Cons:

It’s a kind of expensive to pay every year for but it was completely free for the first three years, so I could see it coming. Try to lower the price please. We, teachers, don’t get paid in big numbers.

Used to be the best

Has been Mixed because of the customer service is slow and any problems with the app is even slower for fixing it. There has been times when I couldn’t use the application. Sometimes I want to add performance points to students at the end of the class. But it’s so fiddly. The app isn’t as user-friendly as it could be. If Other products could do the same job I would probably switch

Pros:

I used to use this all the time. Now I just use it for attendance and keeping track of students test these are the things that important to me.

Cons:

The application is buggy and it takes such a long time for these bugs to be fixed it was so bad I couldn’t use the application last year at times and I wanted to stop using it. Also customer service will only deal with your problems on certain days. I would like to use more but I don’t trust it because it’s so buggy.

I love the ease of tea to talk it I wish you were designed specifically for SLP’s but I just make it work

A good start, but could be better

I used to use a different software that I liked better, but they've stopped updating it in the app store. I wish TeacherKit was a little more like the previous software (which offered more features and didn't require a subscription).

The ability to track attendance and the ability to access the data on a device and on line.

Cons:

The gradebook is a little clunky to use and doesn't easily support dropping assignments, extra credit, and attendance penalties. Also, the reporting feature is really sub-par. You can't customize reports, they display oddly if there are too many assignments, and I can't seem to find a way to generate a report that could be given to a specific student.

Reasons for switching to TeacherKit

Ipad functionality stopped as they haven't updated the app. If they did, I'd switch back unless TeacherKit could make some improvements.

Great promise, falls short

I've had a bad experience overall with TeacherKit, and I've stopped using it. I used it for a year in a district where behavior management was minimal, and the bugs and interface weaknesses were less of an obstacle because I relied on the software less to track quality of student participation. More behavior management is necessary in my current school, and TeacherKit became more trouble than the benefit. You will often have to tap on a student multiple times to select positive or negative points, which disrupts lesson flow. I have to imagine there's fairly simple code to create a class layout template to use across multiple classes then assign students to those seats. Moving students one at a time and placing them properly is tedious. I signed up for the trial. The advanced features are not necessary for my use, and after the free trial, I assumed that it would revert me to a free account. It didn't, and so I contacted support to switch me to a free account. After many requests and a lot of conflicting and confusing information, I was never able to access my account again, which created significant challenge in the interim as I sought a new platform. ClassCharts is the gold standard in this kind of software. TeacherKit is several steps and years behind. Unfortunately ClassCharts no longer offers free teacher accounts. TeacherKit has an opportunity to up their game and profit off of the teachers who are no longer able to use ClassCharts.

I like that it has a seating chart feature.

Cons:

Missing: classroom layout templates, the ability to flip the seating chart orientation to match your POV in the room and to project it so students can see clearly where their seats are.

Reasons for switching to TeacherKit

ClassCharts is no longer offering free teacher accounts.

Dear God help us regain use of this "used-to-be amazing" product!!

I was personally a HUGE advocate of TK, particularly after researching the features on similar apps, but now, we no longer us it because of the issues mentioned above (lack of multi-devise use, no customer service, etc)

I liked every last feature, but paid for the product for years and years and could never get any tech support or a school account.

Cons:

ZERO customer service was a serious problem. We had issued with needing to use multiple devices at a time and could never get a school admin account setup. So disappointing that we had to go to google classroom.

Reasons for choosing TeacherKit

I felt as though TK had the absolute best options for keeping curriculum, tracking attendance, grades, and behavior, and providing immediate feedback to parents. However, parentkit and studentkit hardly ever worked, we needed multi-device use, could not the administrator account, and could not get any customer service.

Time Saver

Cons:

I cannot get it to show final grades on a 4 quarter system correctly.

Teach with TeacherKit

Overall I like that we are able to work offline due to the fact that sometimes our network system might go down. The ability to sync across devices and use the product on different platforms is a plus.

You can synchronize it across devices and it is great for parent communication to let parents know student behavior in class. I just like the overall flexibility of the product.

Cons:

I do have any complaints or any cons about the product as of right now. The product works effectively for what I use it for.

Good Product but customer service doen't exist

Initially I was very happy with the product however my account status was changed to expired even though I paid yearly in advance. I sent dozens of messages and never got any responses.
