About Cisco Umbrella

Cisco Umbrella's cloud-delivered security enables an immediate improvement in security and compliance posture. That's because DNS is at the heart of every internet connection request. Securing the DNS layer means blocking malicious domains, IP addresses, and cloud applications before a connection is ever established. More than 30,000 organizations depend upon Umbrella DNS to deliver a fast, safe, and reliable internet experience that is simple to deploy and easy to manage. A recent study by GigaOM ranked Cisco #1 in DNS-layer security, and our DNS security contributed to Miercom ranking Cisco #1 in the industry in its laboratory testing of SSE threat efficacy. When you are looking to build upon DNS-layer protection with additional user protection capabilities, including ZTNA, SWG, CASB, DLP, and more, see Cisco Secure Access. Cisco Secure Access features a single client, single manager, and single policy construct protection for multi-function internet access protection and integrated ZTNA and VPNaaS application access.

Quality Cloud Protection

My particular opinion is that it is a great tool from cisco since it is very intuitive. Also, Cisco adds a layer of DNS-based protection against malware, which is very useful.

Pros:
What I like the most about this device is its stability because it protects against malware and phishing in real time, and its stability in the cloud. organization. Besides the fact that the client interface is very intuitive.
Cons:
Having used this kit myself, I have not found a single fault as it is very easy to set up. Also, apart from the fact that we only have to configure what and how we want to protect and add PCs, we are quite comfortable with this product.

The deployment experience with Cisco Umbrella is notably smooth and fast—DNS-layer integration can be rolled out in hours, not days. For an organization with global sites, mobile users, and third-party contractors, Umbrella simplifies protection without requiring heavy infrastructure or VPN dependencies.

Pros:
Ambrella acts as the first line of defense by blocking access to malicious domains at the DNS level, before a connection is ever established.
Cons:
This early-stage protection is vital in environments with legacy systems or remote operations (e.g., R&D labs, remote sites like Neot Hovav or Beit Shemesh).

Reasons for choosing Cisco Umbrella

Reason: Umbrella integrates natively with other Cisco platforms like SecureX, Cisco XDR, Meraki, and AnyConnect. Advantage: Enables centralized visibility, shared context across tools, and faster, automated incident response. CISO Value: Reduces operational complexity and leverages existing investments in Cisco infrastructure. Example: If you're already using Cisco Firepower, ISE, or AMP, Umbrella extends protection without
