    There is very little at you might want to do in a beef enterprise that HerdWatch doesn't facilitate, record and manage.
    Cons:
    There is a progressive roadmap for development to broaden the capability of HerdWatch into land management and financial performance aspects. In the future, it will have greater application for management of agri-environment schemes.

    I like that the information can be fed into and from other apps. The main features i use are the feed management and the remedy management and find these useful for tracking
    Cons:
    One particular area that i find difficult to use is the spray feature

    Herdwatch is adaptable to the needs of individual farming businesses

    Great for performance recording and med records to meet farm assurance requirements. Especially the fact that expiry dates on withdrawal periods are worked out automatically.

    Weight recording is a doddle and the whole herd can be recorded on one page.
    Cons:
    That when recording meds such as wormer where doses are calculated depending on weight there is a cattle have to be entered in batches according to their weight which is time consuming.

    The stress free programme, easy to adapt. No complications. You can monitor everything even using your phone when out about on farm. Don’t have to write any info down it can be put straight on to phone. Because so much TB paperwork now with tracers I keep them in there groups and send info direct to vets no writing ear numbers down it’s just perfect

    Nothing really. I just think it’s brilliant. If in difficulty HW are there to help you

    Overall I find it great for Bord boa/Dept of ag compliance. Next gen was a step forward but at the price it would want to be as good as it is

    The compliance record keeping. The withdrawal period reminders. Ease of access on phone to feed/spraying records.
    Cons:
    I find the breeding section confusing and have stopped using the heat reminder as my old style wall chart is more to my style. Has been disappointing trying to record vet visits eg not recognising products

    Easy to load, easy to understand. Generally very slick.
    Cons:
    Not great for generating to-do lists. These are still good to have sometimes.

    Reasons for choosing Herdwatch

    Saw it being demonstrated at the Dairy Tech Event some years ago. Was impressed with what I saw. Next Gen is 10x better than that version was back then.

    Very easy to use and the update has made it even better
    Cons:
    Please do t have your down time 7.30-8 pm as this is the time my husband gets indoors for the day abd I quickly try and update all the calves he’s tagged.

Just to explain, that downtime between 7.30 and 8pm is not a Herdwatch issue, it's a BCMS (Government System) window which they use to update their records nightly, and during that time their systems may be unavailable - which we have no control over.
