About Placeit

Placeit is a cloud-based solution that helps enterprises of all sizes create different branding assets such as logos, videos, banner ads, social media posts or mockups. Features include predefined templates, multiple file formats, content sharing, filtering, slide preview and asset tagging.

Placeit allows graphic designers to build custom logos with brand name and colors and insert text, resize images, modify fonts, and use various illustrations. It lets professionals prepare slideshow videos using required text, audio tracks, layout colors and background photos. Marketers can use the platform to sell, broadcast, display and distribute content for advertising purposes. Users can also bookmark and save mockups or templates in a personal library.

The solution is available on both monthly and annual subscriptions and support is extended via chat, video tutorials and email.

Where imagination is taken seriosuly

Very smooth, fun and easy to work with. It gives you ideas that you never knew you were able to turn into designs. It can turn graphic design from a hobby to a gig for anyone.

Pros:

Placeit is an amazing leader in graphic design. With wonderful templates and several vector arts, it makes graphic design possible for everybody. It also provides mockups so you can show your potential buyers how your designs will look like on apparel, accessories, on the wall and more.

Cons:

They used to have great free templates and vector arts but that is not avialble anymore.

Perfect for client mockups.

Been using it for years as the main method of sharing designs to get approval prior to manufacture. Has worked perfectly.

Makes creating mockups for businesses much easier.

Cons:

At times the mockup applies the colors that you choose, but they aren’t as vibrant in the mockup.

Reasons for switching to Placeit

I was previously using mockup templates in Photoshop but it took much longer to source and then edit.

Predatory and scamming behaviour

No pros, didn't like it at all, I'd rather use recraft ai which is cheaper and more convenient

Cons:

Absolutely predatory behaviour. I thought I cancelled my subscription a year ago, but then realised that they have been quite charging my card every month. I've tried to cancel it again and almost fell for the same trap - their flow is designed in a way that's they trick you to staying on the platform, i.e you think you canceled but if you are not careful you actually end up staying. Do not recommend at all. I asked for a full refund, they declined it. Stay away from these scammers.

Placeit is a waste of money

I've been continually disappointed with every feature Placeit offers. The mockups are cheesy, low quality, and stocky, and the pre-made designs aren't much better.

Pros:

If you care more about quickness of production than quality, Placeit is a relatively low barrier to entry product

Cons:

Each image in its library of product mockups is nigh unusable. They're really not worth paying money for.

You might be able to get rid of your camera all together if your in these industries...

I'm in the business of t-shirts and if you don't hold much inventory or know models coming up with realistic pictures is a tough task. Place it makes it easy and really realistic especially with their lays so you can have product pictures. They have tees, cups, billboards, books, with and without models, all that and more!

There is so many mock ups for every type of item you can imagine but my favorite feature is you can create GOOD designs for t-shirts right there without Photoshop.

Cons:

A lot of the designs are goofy cartoons.

Reasons for choosing Placeit

Not as much variety and although you can do more customization it's not nearly as quick and when you have a 1000 t-shirts or whatever you need easy & quick!

The overall experience is just amazing and it's great to use Placeit. My productivity at work increases after using Placeit.

Pros:

The most impactful thing about Placeit is the templates available on its platform to choose from. I use Placeit for making logos and business cards. The available templates of business cards make my work easy and fast. Easy editing options and a friendly user interface make work much better.

Cons:

There is nothing to dislike about Placeit. Everything works properly. They can add 4K templates which would be really helpful. Otherwise, everything works properly.

The easy user interface available was the real option.

Pros:

Honestly there was nothing in the tool that could have me an engagement. Honestly ENVATO ELEMENTS could replace it.

Cons:

The contents are not attractive, the visual effects are simple. The usability is normal even simple but the processes of render and previews are unfriendly

Reasons for switching to Placeit

It is a really powerful tool, although it is true that it is focused on offering downloadable elements to update them with different softwares. It offers really great content of all categories.

A functional design tool

Overally this is a good place to start as a beginner designer as there is a decent collection of design elements to start with.

Pros:

I like the free templates available on this platform that allows for branding and logo creation with so much ease. These templates have successfully cut my design creation time in half since I only have to make a few personalized changes when branding and creating logos. I also like that the text editing option on this platform are varied with a variety of fonts, sizes and colours for a more custom look and feel.

Cons:

I was abit disappointed that after using it for a while, I realized that the content library is not updated more frequently. This is especially observed with the mockups available for use.

We bought it for mock-ups and stayed for the designs

We bought it for mock-ups 2 years ago. We needed a tool that could show mock-ups fast and Photoshop wasn't an option back then when we did not have a designer in-house. We saw the free account from PlaceIt and we knew right away we need this tool. We bought it and 1500 mock-ups later in a few months we discovered the design's features. The majority of the templates are better than Canva's ones. We found templates and videos for almost any industry and it paid off.

The variety of the mock-ups and designs. You just search the keyword and voila, you have several pages of mock-ups, videos, images, and templates ready to use.

Cons:

The video editing is limited to only text and sound. The sound library is kinda letting down the product. Also, the text spaces are character-limited. If you see a video with 3 words in it, that's the limit.

Pros:

Placeit is a tool for designers and content creators to easily create covers, posts, stories, whether static or in video, the tool is really a video facilitator. Great resources for videos, great designs for print-on-demand shirts, and not to mention the mockups, of which there are thousands at our disposal. I've been subscribed for 2 years and plan to continue.

Cons:

The cons of Placeit are due to the fact that it does not give us much mobility to edit texts, insert images that we would like to use, and especially the search does not work very well. Today I found it difficult to search for images. Thing of several cool things that would be for the word "Tattoo" not to appear in "Tattoo" but appear in "Musician"
