A powerful and user-friendly tool

Pros:

It has a "Help Center" with all the guides and tutorials to get you started, which is awesome. I like most the "Translate" feature, the patents you find can all be translated into either English, Chinese or Japanese, and with a pretty good quality.

Cons:

The "Legal" feature only lists the legal status of the current patent that being viewed, it would be awesome if the legal status of the patent's family members could also be listed, thus we can have a clear view of the strategy.

Reasons for switching to PatSnap

More user-friendly, and I like the feature "Semantic search" and "Corporate Tree", etc.

Very powerful tool

I'm now using Patsnap since 5 years and the development of the tool was great and is still continuing. The team is listening carefully to the needs of the customers and very responsive

Pros:

Their proprietary analysis module that can map out the landscape of industrials that have patents relevant to the queries.

Cons:

The method used to set up a query. It requires some in depth learning before one can comfortably search and identify the patents relevant to target of interests.

PatSnap Insight plaform allows for setting up customized searches/reports and information for looking at various IP landscapes of competitors. Its a great resources. The ease of searching for patents, saving to collaborate with team members and fast downloads, along with a robust database make it one of the best out there for any company who wants to have an edge over competitors.

Cons:

The competitive searching and filtering could be a little more easier to use, to narrowing results. It takes a little bit getting used to running reports but once you have the hang of it is easy.

Pros:

PatSnap has extremely useful and versatile methods for searching. Their semantic search changed my whole patent search process. The maps connecting inventors/ owners/ cited IP are very useful as well. I use PatSnap for company research too, as you can see visualizations of the company's types of IP owned.

Cons:

I have no complaints about PatSnap; it's a great software.
