Review fo Direct Advisory Suite

Overall, I find it very helpful. I find the performance tool to be very effective in sifting through some of the performance related commentary that wholesalers provide to get the "true facts" of the situation. It is not that they are necessarily lying but they are presenting their products in the best possible light and if you don't ask the right question they may omitt to fill it in. Howeve, the tool negates that.

Pros:

Once you familiarize yourself with the various options (and there are a lot of them) the tool is very useful for producting comparatives as well as gettting details about portfolios that you construct.

Cons:

Jargon - some items such as the fixed income style boxes are very, very poorly explained. And I don't understand that because the equity style box is well explained. Also there are some many options it takes quite a while, at least for myself, to get to a consistent report that would could be used a majority of the time. Now having that flexiblity is awesome for the special sitautions where either the client makes a specific request for some information or the circumstances dictate it.

Pros:

Easy to access a plethora of data. Allows you to ensure what you're offering to the client is in their best interest - the portfolio tool is fantastic for proposals and allows clients to get a better understanding of their investments.

Cons:

A touch of a learning curve, however there are plenty of resources available for how to best utilize the system.
