A realistic alternative to human transcription services

I tried this because of a lifetime deal, and must say I'm very pleased. In the past we've used Rev.com and GoTranscript, both worthy services. They cost more, though, and even so do not produce perfect transcripts. HappyScribe does nearly as well for a lower price.

Pros:

This voice recognition is better than others I've tried, including from Otter.io. That talent is wrapped in an intuitive editor to make for a powerful transcription service.

Cons:

I like using human transcriptionists, not least because I resist the idea that AI can do as well as we can. However, for the price I find this to be reasonable. The editor, while very nice, is not flawless. A few more performance tweaks could make it even more user-friendly.

Reasons for choosing Happy Scribe

As I've already mentioned, price was the primary advantage of Happy Scribe. Their interface and accuracy helped close the deal.

Pros:

Happy Scribe is a real help when it comes to captioning your videos. The text-to-speech is comparable to any other big-name brand, and in some instances gives better results. Where Happy Scribe excels for me is the ease with which you can edit videos that have been transcribed. It is extremely simple to do, and there is no aspect of the UI that isn't there for a purpose. The Happy Scribe team regularly brings out updates, and the product seems to be constantly improving.

Cons:

The biggest downside of Happy Scribe is cost. It isn't the cheapest solution out there, but I'd argue it's one of the most fully featured. If you are needing to do a lot of captioning it may become cost prohibitive, but I think for most people this wouldn't be an issue.

Got this to save time with our transcriptions

Overall, I like the concept of HappyScribe and how it has a nice visual page to edit the transcribed text. The biggest downside is that it isn't as accurate with its voice-to-text as I was hoping. Thus, it still takes our team 4+ hours to transcribe a 1-hour podcast.

I like how easy it is to upload an audio file and have the audio transcribed. The page has a visual guide that highlights the words as the audio plays so you know where to find your spot to edit the transcription.

Cons:

The biggest drawback is that the editing time still takes so long because the voice-to-text transcription is only about halfway accurate even with good audio.

Excellent tool for Transcription

My overall experience with this app is very good, I have no negative things to say about the features I have used. Your transcription is definitely very good, you hardly make any mistakes. And for the most perfectionist they have the human transcription, of course with an additional charge for time.

This software allows you to easily perform online transcriptions in a very precise and fast way. Its interface is very nice and easy to use, from the first time you use it you know what to do without going around too much.

Cons:

I would like it to be able to integrate with KonnectzIT. I wish they had a mobile app.

Supportive tool for online course creation

Pros:

What I liked most about the Happy Scribe is that it saved me a lot of time and money getting all of my video and audio from my online courses transcribed so that learners could have the messages in written form as well.

Cons:

The main hiccups I had with Happy Scribe was that at times the uploads would not work and there did not seem to be an identifiable reason.

Happy Scribe Adds Subtitles To Your Videos

It's easy to use and it does what it's supposed to do. Easy to upload videos. Doesn't take long for them to upload. Creates the subtitles 95% with accuracy, and very easy to edit and download the finished product

Cons:

I like it a lot. I do wish they would let you crop the video when editing, but that's not a big deal because I can always do that before uploading it

Does exactly what it is made for!

Fast transcription of audio, work I do not want to do myself! It would cost me hours to do this (right) without Happy Scribe!

Pros:

It's been a great transcription tool for me and is so easy to use. The UI is straightforward and easy to navigate, and the tool does a great job of transcribing your audio files into text. You can save a lot of time because it automatically transcribes your files- just as long as your video or audio file is high-quality. Otherwise, you'll spend a lot of time making changes yourself. It also supports other languages which is a huge PLUS for me.

Cons:

Sometimes, the transcription is not accurate and you'll have to spend time transcribing yourself. Also, the video duration or time is limited. You have to pay for additional hours if you need more than the allotted free hours. That's a big drawback for me.

Subtitling my Videos has never been so easy!

I have tried a few other speech recognition tools and this one is by far the best. It is so easy to use and the transcription quality is amazing. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone looking for an easy to use, accurate speech recognition tool.

Cons:

I would like an in-platform video editor for easy edits. But it's just a wish, Happy Scribe is great!
