About Protemos

Protemos is a translation management solution designed to help agencies and freelancers handle clients, projects, vendors, finances, currencies and more from within a unified platform. Users can export tables, client details, invoices and purchase orders into XLSX and PDF format.

Protemos allows teams to inform vendors about payments and jobs and configure notification settings according to requirements. The system automatically updates currencies or exchange rates and lets freelancers track payment statuses and maintain a database of vendor information including contacts and rates.

Linguaemundi Protemos Review

Our overall experience with Protemos has been very positive and we have used it to make PM work easier, coordinate our inhouse translator team better, enforce quality processes through the checklists feature, share, categorize and collect information through the use of tags and have an overall view of the company through the reports.

Pros:

The ease of use and deployment as well as the functionalities like Tags are all great points but if I had to pick one thing it would be the unbeatable quality of the customer support. The team are always there to lend a helping hand and help us overcome any challenges and are incredibly open to improvement suggestions from us as clients and new feature requests. Hurray for the Protemos team :)

Cons:

The fact that it does not show wordcounts in the project or job overviews.

Reasons for switching to Protemos

The software was becoming outdated and buggy.

Pros:

Protemos is an intuitive tool. Easy to use, and complete! The onboarding process for translators and project managers is super easy. The fact that mnotes can be added and also when we are pivoting in a different direction because of the changing market: very easy to create audioprojects, add new services, like copywriting, video production and so on. It's not expensive, but the service is very good. If same-day answers from the Protemos team are not possible, the next morning the team is responsive, kind and caring.

Cons:

There is not much we didn't like. If we had a question or suggestion, it was always updated in the next version.

Project management and invoicing with Protemos

My admin and invoicing system used to be a bit of a headache, Protemos makes it easier to find things and it is quicker to do the invoicing.

Pros:

It is easy to use and since it is online, I can access it from any device that is connected to the internet.

Cons:

I find the invoicing and reporting functions a bit awkward to use at times, my clients want their invoices done in different ways and it would be nice to be able to customize the invoices more.

Pros:

Protemos is indeed a great option for agencies looking for software that offers excellent value for money. There were cheaper options, but they didn’t feel as good, and there were others that were more expensive. Protemos sits right in the middle, offering an easy-to-use platform and amazing customer support.

Cons:

There aren’t many things to point out, however, there is one aspect I personally don’t like very much. When you create a vendor, for example, and want to delete it, there is no way to do so except by “hiding” it. I think it should be easier to remove vendors and clients from the database, but aside from that, everything is really good.

This tool is very easy to use. The interface in minimalism style, no unnecessary functions, and no distracting things but quick performance make the work in this tool fast, focused, and effective.

Cons:

It's powerful enough to cover all our accounting needs, yet is simple and intuitive both for managers and freelancers. The system is constantly improved and development team is very sensitive to our custom needs.

Cons:

We still lack some functionality - some routine processes could be further automated, however the system is constantly improved and developers do listen to our queries.

Excellent Translation Management System we've been looking for years

Most important this TMS helped us put everything in order. We are now able to see every financial data that seemed to be vague or hidden from our eyes before.

Pros:

With Protemos' reporting features, I can easily keep track of the incoming projects, revenue for the month, and other useful data to implement meaningful sales & marketing initiatives. Good customer support is also a plus.

Cons:

Multiquotes for the same project make it hard to measure accurate conversion rates from protemos.

Easily one of the best project management tools for freelance translators

Protemos is a free tool that knows how to tackle the common project management pitfalls of freelance translators. We're extremely happy with the product and can't wait to see where the team will take it.

This tool was clearly designed by someone who is passionate about project management and know real pains of freelance translators. Clean design makes using this tool a breeze.

Cons:

The tool could benefit from integrating with 3rd party API, for example would be great to use Stripe to accept payments for invoices that Protemos creates.
