About Restream

Restream is a live streaming solution that helps businesses of all sizes distribute video content across multiple social media channels including Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube and Twitch. It lets users create customizable chat boxes to read and reply to messages across multiple platforms from within a unified dashboard.

Restream's scheduler module enables businesses to upload videos in .mp4 or .mov formats and pick channels for them to go live at a specified date/time. It lets users add voice-overs or translations and broadcast several points of view utilizing the multi-camera mode. Additionally, users can gain insights into live stream performance by analyzing audience sentiments and engagement levels across all platforms.

Restream is available as integration for various streaming applications like OBS Studio, SLOBS, Elgato, XSplit and more. It is available for free and on monthly or annual subscriptions. Support is extended via documentation, live chat and other measures.

My Restream Review after 1 year

Overall, my experience has been great. I multistream to Twitch, Facebook, and Youtube. Unfortunately, Instagram is not available to stream from any computer-based program due to Meta policies, and they cannot do anything regarding that. But so far, so good. The main reason I use it is the integration with Ecamm, which is my main streaming software, the video quality, and the cloud recording is very useful to later take clips to publish

Pros:

The most important of all features is the Ecamm Live integration. Being able to read comments from different platforms/social media from the same chatbox. Also, the video quality that Restream provides is the best with barely any delay. When they dropped the Restream branding in the basic standard tier, it was a no brainer about what multistream software to use, especially the discount for Ecamm users under the Ecamm Perks program

Cons:

Restream needs to incorporate an HTML5 embedded player /chatbox. Many of us would be very benefited by this, especially the ones that would like to use our own website and private subcriptions. FYI: Streamyard already offers an embedded player

Pros:

The chat is my favorite part of the software as it was very easy to implement into my streams, and the main use of the software the multi broadcast allows me to reach a wider audience that I wouldn't have been able to reach otherwise without using the program.

Cons:

Sometimes there are some small bugs in the program but once you get the initial setup done on the website it is very easy to use.

The software you need to be seen!

Over 2+ years Restream has allowed me to build a positive and interactive community across the internet and has expanded my audience and friendships along the way, if it wasn't for restream then I don't think I would be where I am today.

Pros:

I like that Restream allows me to showcase my work across all the platforms that are important to me. I can share my designs and games with the people I love around the world because Restream exists. I feel like the UI is easy to understand, intuitive and functional, and the servers are typically well maintained.

Cons:

I experience occasional disconnects from the server side but this could also be a problem with the platform being connected to.

The savings as well as the phenomenal and easy to use UI, tech support and general care that the Restream team takes with it's users.

Free multi platform streaming solution

As a free service to multi streaming, I would say that Restream does the job just fine. It's not the best service out there but if like me, you don't have the budget to invest another 10$ a month for a multi streaming option, then Restream is the way to go. Also note that they have one of a kind, very rare technical service. I honestly haven't seen a chat support that helpful elsewhere. Restream might not be the best option but their technical service sure compensate for that downside!

- Allows you to stream to most known platforms at the same time, free of charge - Great Recap/report of your latest stream through email - Top of the chart technical support - Relatively easy to set up through OBS and well known streaming platforms like Twitch and Mixer

Cons:

- Depending on where you are, unstable internet connexion to their servers, causing drop frames and lost packages (might need a specific tool that can't be found on their website) - Some streaming platform access might get blocked once in a while... - No facebook Public page stream with the free version - Chat bot can be a mess sometimes and stop working randomly. Never found out how to log out of the Restream chat application. - Very hard to configure with Facebook public pages and Youtube gaming.

Reasons for switching to Restream

I had an issue with Restream, losing frames and having unstable connexion then I switched to Castr, which was working well until to decide to go as a paying service for everyone. I then switched back to Restream.

Multistreaming Becomes a Breeze

Restream made it that much easier to get our multiple weekly livestreams out onto social media and streaming platforms. We're grateful for the capabilities of the software and how smoothly things go with Restream.

Pros:

Restream really makes streaming that much easier for the user. This program allows you to broadcast a livestreamed event simultaneously to multiple platforms via their platform. This makes it possible to reach a much wider audience through the use of multiple livestream platforms. Restream has excellent integration capabilities with other broadcast software (our preference) or allows users to stream via the Restream Studio website. Interactions with viewers can be managed through the Restream comments tab. Setting up streams, switching streams, and publishing streams is truly a breeze. The experience is worth the money and makes our streaming setup much less work.

Cons:

There are still a few kinks that need to be worked out in continuity. For instance, updating the names of your livestreams on the Restream Studio website does not always update the stream names in other places where Restream is used (broadcast software, for instance). Regardless, this does not severely limit the usability of the program and is a minor con.

Restream included much easier integration with other streaming software, and allowed for us to stream previously scheduled livestreams. This ability really sold us over other alternatives.

Restream is alright but falling behind

Restream.io worked as advertised 99% of time. However, for what it offered, the price was just worth the value of continuing with their service.

Easy to get up and started, offering stability to maintain livestreaming onto multiple platforms.

Cons:

The cost are ridiculously higher to use in comparison to its competitors.

Castr offered a better value with additional services included unlike Restream, which is at a higher cost with fewer options.

Reasons for switching to Restream

It's an incredibly affordable option compared to Restream. In addition, it's no extra cost to run two RTMP Pull links. On Restream, to run just one RTMP Pull link is an additional cost. Additionally, Castr has servers located in my city, unlike Restream, making latency significantly lower.

It has worked flawlessly. It has given us no problems at all. I love this program.

I loved the price and the ease of use. I can just set it up one time if I want and it works and integrates with any streaming software/hardware.

Cons:

I think there can be more features. I'd like to do some slightly different type messages and templates in my stream. I don't like that it puts the "powered by restream" on all my streams. I think the Title and message areas could be easier to edit. Like have a date that changes every week, or a message with rules that you can apply. Maybe some kind of help in that area. I don't like editing my Title every week.
